Alas no pink shoes - i was in the wrong season, but i did get some amazing shiny red strappy wedges for a mere $5. Some of the staff are very helpful and attentive. One gentleman hosted a 10 minute sale in the store and he was the most helpful out of all the employees I spoke to the day we went shopping here. The price of shoes is more than reasonable and so far the quality is good. The only two issues I had were: 1. The bathroom (women's) doesn't have a changing table for little ones. We ended up going next door to Target. 2. Some of the staff were not as attentive as they could have been. During our visit, there were at least 10-20 people in the store and two of the employees at the checkout stands were just chitchatting as a woman was standing in front of them waiting for them to finish their conversation before trying to ask for help. If you've worked in retail then you know how to pause a convo, help customers first, then continue that conversation when able. This isn't a major issue but during a rush, it's more noticeable. This store does carry some shoes in wide sizes. Most may need to be ordered though. Other than those things, this store is helpful. So I just continued to run in the shoes I had for 6 years. After months of looking at on line web sites and looking at reviews I still felt I needed an individual to speak to. So I went to Dicks sporting goods. The big box store. Because they should know their stuff right!? So so wrong. It took about 20 minutes for anyone to even walk up to me. When they finally did they said "finding everything okay?" I said "I need some help. I am looking for a shoe that will support my arches. And that is just an overall good shoe. Any recommendations? " He said "just pick the most expensive shoe and you're set." Haha really!? So I googled running shoes in Springfield il. The Springfield Running Center came up. It had a great review. So I decided to try it. As soon as I walk in I am welcomed immediately by a gentleman named Steve. He asked me how he could help me. I told him that I'm just looking for some help picking the right running shoe. He was extremely eager to help. He had me take my shoes off first thing to walk around so he could look at my arches and how they are when I walk. After that he showed me different types of shoes that would work for me. He was so detailed in everything. He didn't mention price one time. I was looking at the prices and he never tried to get me in the most expensive one. He simply pointed out what was a good shoe for me. Had me try them on, walk around in them, and even made sure I had enough room. Super awesome place! Tons of information and such a friendly environment! I am so happy with their service that I'm sitting in the parking lot writing this review haha! They probably think I'm stalking them! My goal was to get something before the winter because my summer purse is fabric and leads to drenched contents during the rainy season. The features that were a must for my new purse were that it needed to be leather/water proof. The main compartment needed to have a zipper closure.
