We went to Mossers yesterday to check out their store closing sale. The last time to shop there will be the 25th of this month (May) we were informed by the always helpful store manager Jordan. The prices are marked down considerably and their selection still appears decent. I bought a pair of slip-on open-back slippers that feature a sole that can be worn outside. I think I will get many years of use out of them, and at 65 % off the price was right. I am sad to see this store close, it is difficult to find real customer service these days without paying $400.+ read more

I use to love coming here with my mom to get new Birkenstock's, but she recently passed away and i went to see if i could exchange a pair of completely unused shoes in the box with the receipt. Her cancer had got so bad she never got the chance to wear them. The manager told me they looked used even tho they are not and wouldn't help. I'll get my Birkenstock's else where now. I wear a 7 1/2 Wide ladies shoe and have a bunion on each foot. I couldn't find a dress shoe that didn't hurt after wearing them for a little while. I ordered shoes on line and in stores. Thankfully the lady in the store understood my problem and said I needed a SOFT leather that will conform to my foot. Even though I was buying expensive shoes they were not soft leather. My wife wears a brace on her left foot and we have had a hard time finding shoes that fit, were comfortable and winter appropriate. When we entered, all three of the staff greeted us and Jordan, the manager, spent at least an hour trying various shoes and boots until we found a pair that finally worked. The service was excellent as there was absolutely no pressure to purchase as he was determined to find a solution for us. My wife tried on at least a dozen different shoes and after each failure, Jordan reiterated his determination to find a pair that would work. We would heartily recommend Mosser's to anyone and it will be our first choice if we need more shoes in the future. read more

I bought a pair of sandals a few weeks ago. The velcro on the sandals keeps coming undone. I went to the store for an exchange or something, since clearly this was defective. I was told that because I don't have the box it came in, they could do nothing for me. So I've lost $150 on sandals that now will randomly come undone. No one ever told me that policy when I purchased them!! I will never purchase from them again. read more

I went to Mosser's to buy booties, Tuesday,9/3/19. Only one other customer in the store. She was being assisted by TWO clerks, who were being very nice to her. Ordering shoes she wanted, explaining the process. I was greeted by another man, told to look around, ask if I needed anything. When I did ask to try on a pair of shoes, I was brought one pair. Told it was the smallest size they had. Period. No, do you want to try another style, order this shoe. ANYTHING !!! I was going to spend $175.00 on something YOU lost a customer. Went to buy "local" ... bad idea if you go to Mosser. It is June 13 & retail has re-opened, dining outside has returned and everyone is looking forward to revitalization. I go to buy a 139.00 pair of shoes for my husband, when I ask if I could return them the answer was "oh no because of COVD 19 nothing can be returned? " WHAT? I have returned to TJ Max & target clothing items and returned some things to Lowe's, no problem. I told them I wanted to buy local but Amazon sounded better since they were returnable. I went to the Springfield store over the weekend. I was looking for womens boots, so I thought this would be a great place to start. As I looked around, I noticed there were not price tags on most of the boots. I asked the sales person (female) how I could tell what price they were. She said, "you shouldn't worry about the price if they are comfortable." I said, "I don't want to try on anything unless I know how much they are first." She mumbled something and walked away. No doubt that they carry unique and comfortable shoes those you couldn't find in town, but the customer service is worth 3 out of 10 to me. Well, their staff provide good service to customers selectively - I don't know what's their criteria... to many customers, one of reasons they still choose retail shopping cos have salesman to serve and get product information from the salesman. If the customers couldn't receive those from the retailer for sure, instead of gaining a bad shopping experience; the retailer isn't only lose the business, but the reputation. read more

Wonderful, professional service. I bought a pair of shoes. Salesman recommended inserts that have stopped my knee pain. The inserts took a few days to get used to and I have no more knee pain !! My mom has to wear a brace on her one foot, so it's difficult to find shoes that fit are big enough that the brace fits in and that will also fit her other foot without a brace. It's even more difficult to find a shoe store here people are knowledgeable in shoes and braces. Well, we found that here! David and John were amazing! David knew what shoes would accommodate the brace and John was very patient in assisting my mom with trying numerous shoes. One of the shoes she liked, they didn't have her size in a another color she wanted - John said no problem, we can order that for you! My mom walked out with a new pair of shoes on her feet that actually fit both feet well. Plus the pair we ordered, as well as a pair of dressier shoes she hadn't been able to find. I am so grateful to David and John for their great customer service, the time they spent with my mom and seeing the smile on my moms face for finding shoes that worked! I just left this store & will never be back. I've heard that the staff is rude. I got to experience it today. I went in prepared to buy several pairs of shoes. I had to ask a man who was standing around if I could get some help. When I ask about shoes I was interested in he said those wouldn't work for me. I asked about Naots he said those would work. Next thing I knew he walked away to help someone else not even offering to finish helping me. I was told he was the manager. Another clerk just laughed when I told him of the situation. I had to let him know this wasn't funny. My suggestion is to not shop here. I would not even give them 1 star except I cant posr this without giving a star read more

I went to Mosser's in Springfield and the clerk helped me for about an hour tying on shoes (Very helpful at this point). I finally decided on a shoe (they don't have a large selection). I was told they had my size at their Champagne store and they will put them on the truck for delivery to the Springfield store the next day. PERFECT. Then they said I had to pay up front for "the special order". (OK, no problem) I gave him my card and I was so happy to get them. I asked if I could "return " them if they did not fit. I was told that would not be a problem. As the clerk began to process the order, he said they were on sale and there was a "no return policy". I asked if the same person owned both the Springfield and Champagne stores, and was told yes. I asked what difference it made which store the shoes sold at since the driver was going back and forth between stores multiple times a week. I was told it was "store policy". I said I would be a fool to pay for a shoe I did not know would fit if I knew I could not get a refund. The clerk said it was "policy". I'm all for policy, but their customer service sucks. Seemed simple to me. Let me try them on and if they fit, I'll buy. If not, sell them to another customer or put them back on the truck to be returned to the other store two days later. THE SAME OWNER STILL GETS HIS MONEY WHEN THEY SELL. Guess I'll just buy on- line. Sorry "brick and mortar". I'm sure you wont be around much longer.
