I hate to be harsh to a small business, and at first I wondered if the reviews were just people being over the top with their criticism, but the reviews are right. I've been in the spiritual community for a while, and this place sells a lot of spiritual items, but there is no actual substance to that. To be honest, I was pretty offended there was a blue lives matter sticker sitting right next to a piece sticker. Something like that has NO place in a spiritual store. You will receive no greeting when you walk in, the items as other people mentioned have an extremely high markup. Most small businesses are family run but that doesn't explain the high prices for the area. $30 for a notebook, $35 or a gem bracelet you can buy on Etsy for $10. Absolutely none of the staff were wearing masks (every business I went to including shabby shack the staff were all wearing masks yet this store is apparently above that), nor were the customers wearing masks and this is after the state mandate. If there are sanitizing stations they're not in noticeable positions, the hours on the sign outside don't match the hours on Yelp by the way. Yelp says 6, sign said 530. There's just a phony vibe about the place. I guess that's to be expected when part of the name is derogatory in spiritual circles. I think those who practice spirituality apart from religion will get it when I say that this has a very all lives matter, anti-vaxxer, more religious but treating spirituality as an "aesthetic" vibe. Had I bought any items that I would have used for spiritual practices, the items would have felt absolutely tainted with bad vibes. It's too bad because there are cute items and cute displays, but it's not a proper spiritual store in my eyes and I'm also not going to shop at a place that doesn't give any thought to protecting its customers or employees regarding covid. That should tell you enough. If you don't care about all people, that's not what the spiritual community represents. I'm sure they won't look at the reviews and reflect on anything, I'm especially upset that they responded to reviews saying that the employees wear masks when they clearly do not. So they will keep doing what they're doing, and that's their right, but I won't be back and I wouldn't recommend the place to any fellow spiritualists. And I would tell anybody else who asked that it's on the pricey side. Even outside of central Illinois, it would be considered pricey. And I've lived in LA. This is like Venice, Calif. boutique pricey. But you do you. I just want the spiritual folks to read this so they get their spiritual gifts and crystals from places more in line with their spiritual values (and budgets). Please wear masks! read more
