I am in the process of receiving reconstruction after a bilateral mastectomy. I can't say enough about the professionalism, caring and skill of Dr. Ali Mosharrafa. I have complete confidence in him. I have read some of the negative reviews here, and Its unfortunate that their experiences were less than favorable. I believe sometimes people go into cosmetic surgery often with unrealistic expectations of what the results will be, without taking into account many of the personal variables that are beyond the control of the surgeon. Dr. Mosharrafa explained this to me when I asked him what results I might expect. He made me no promises, but I feel like he has taken the best care of me, and he and his staff have made the last six months since the cancer diagnosis and subsequent surgeries not only bearable, but such a positive experience. All I know is, that before I had my mastectomy, I perused many, many photos of what I realistically might expect, and I came to terms with the fact that I was never going to look like 'me' again, but resigned myself to at least being able to look good in my clothes. It took me two weeks to look at myself after the operation. I had skin expanders in place immediately after the mastectomy. I was shocked to see how little damage there was to my skin, even before the puffiness when down. I had no bruising, and no infections, was it painful, yes! and did I hate those drains, yes! However both of those issues were resolved within a month. Yes, the expanders are uncomfortable, I feel like I am wearing a wooden bra most of the time, but I have to say, Dr. Mosharrafa is a genius! My scarring is minimal, and I feel very looked after, by both the doctor and his staff. I never wait more than five minutes, if that when I go for my 'fills'. What I like most, is that he doesn't sugar coat things. He has been up front about everything, especially the results I can expect. So far, they are exceeding my expectations, he's very modest and says it is probably due to my genetics. That may be true, but I believe there is a reason he has been a top doctor for so long!! I still have a ways to go, but even if I had to stop now, I would not be devastated, by the way I look, I could live with this. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Mosharrafa to any of my friends or family, and I am confident that my final results are going to be amazing! read more

He has harmed NUMEROUS women in this Valley, yet the unethical, non-transparent Arizona Medical Board has allowed him to continue practicing without any consequences. I have a 50 plus page report on him that I submitted to this unprofessional board funded by physicians who protect their own. This board has NO transparency and it has been fined for its ineptness . It has violated numerous laws and is considered the sixth worst medical board in the nation. I know of at LEAST eight (8) other women who Dr. Ali Mosharrafa has harmed. Some, however, are frightened of pressing charges against him because of his Middle Eastern background. I have never discriminated against a race or religion. I consulted with numerous plastic surgeons before finally choosing Dr. Tamir for my breast lift, tummy tuck, and arm lift. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I chose the right surgeon. Dr. Tamir is not just genuinely kind, but he is up to date on the latest research in his field, and takes the time to share that information with his patients. This helped alleviate my fears and anxieties about the surgeries and healing process. In addition, Dr. Tamir is damn good at what he does. When I was nursing my daughter my breasts grew to a size H cup, and afterwards shrunk to a DDD. The DDD, however, was mostly loose skin just piled into my bra (think swing low sweet chariot). Every other surgeon I met with wanted to give me implants, which I wasn't interested in, but Dr. Tamir took the time to get to know me and what I wanted. And what I wanted is exactly what he gave me: lifted, firm breasts without implants. As if that wasn't enough, he also gave me beautiful arms that stop waving when I stop waving my hand, and a tummy that looks better than my tummy has ever looked in my lifetime. One more thing, I don't know who is responsible for hiring his staff, but they have done a phenomenal job! The staff are equally kind and caring as well. EVERY person I have dealt with in this office has treated me with genuine kindness and concern. This was definitely NOT my experience in the office of other plastic surgeons when I was getting my consultations. This is important to keep in mind, as you will be dealing with the office staff just as frequently, if not more than with the doctor. In my opinion, here are the cons for plastic surgery: It's expensive There are risks It's an art form, not an exact science But here are the pros: Feeling comfortable in your own skin is priceless It truly is a form of art If you are considering plastic surgery, PLEASE get lots of consultations, but make sure Dr. Tamir is on your list. While plastic surgery is an art form, Dr. Tamir is a true artist. Also, make sure your expectations are realistic, including concerning the healing process which is not overnight. I'll try to make this short but I don't know if it's possible. I was shocked and terrified when I received my Breast Cancer diagnosis. To top that off, I had a long and winding road to find a plastic surgeon due to where I live and insurance challenges, when I said I'll drive anywhere for the best, my breast cancer surgeon recommended Mosharrafa. They called Terri as I just had a surgery cancelled due to an insurance mix up and asked if she could fit me in - she worked me in the next day! I finally met Dr. Tamir, I was at my wits end and terrified, but he came in the room and talked to me about the process and asked about my needs. I felt his strength and kindness immediately; now I'm at ease, for the first time in 2 months. I cannot begin to tell you how much it means, to have not only your doctor be one of the kindest and most caring people you've ever met, but the entire staff take you in their arms and let you know everything is going to be ok. This is how Dr. Tamir Mosharrafa and Terri and everyone at Mosharrafa Plastic Surgery has made me feel. I'm only in my first trimester of reconstruction (as I call it) and I trust this man with my life. I had a problem with an incision opening up and had to have an expander removed. Dr. Tamir showed so much sympathy for what I would need to go through and I wasn't worried, I just trusted him. The surgery center is on site, the staff is amazing and kind, they took excellent care of me during this hiccup (things happen in breast cancer reconstruction). I just had the expander replaced and again, amazing people and the best care! I just cannot say enough about the people and the facilities. Most excellent! In my initial consultation with Dr. Tamir Mosharaffa, I explained that I wanted a breast reduction first and foremost, and if my insurance company deemed that necessary (and they did), I would also like to have abdominoplasty. First I'd like to say what an amazing appointment I had with Dr Mosharaffa. He is the consummate professional, and any uneasiness I felt at the beginning quickly melted away. My bra size was 34G and I told him I would like to "err on the side of smaller" as much as possible. He explained what the options would be, obviously being able to go a little smaller with the reduction if I were able to have the abdominoplasty, explaining the importance of body proportion. I had both surgeries in September 2019 and I could not be happier! I was referred to this practice by my family doctor, and from the moment I called to make my consultation appointment, I was totally impressed with the entire operation. The office staff is like none I've experienced at a doctors office. From the awesome ladies at the front desk, to the surgical coordinator, totally explaining costs and expectations-after care. Even the anesthesiologist was amazing! EVERYTHING was seamless and easy. I couldn't tell you my exact new bra size, as the ones I wear now come in small, medium or large with NO underwire! I am important. That is a difficult statement if you feel uncomfortable with your appearance. Appearance is what we identify with as part of self. I lacked a certain degree of regard for self when my body changed as I aged. The weight was impossible to keep off, my bra size increased and increased. Dr. Ali one of my many consults. There was more than one surgery i wanted to have done but was not comfortable enough with the other consults to ask the doctor. When i met with Dr. Ali he made me feel so comfortable that i just asked the fact that i was that comfortable and he made me feel like family not knowing the first thing about me speaks volumes. I scheduled my surgery that day before i left. When i can in for my pre op. He explained everything so well sent me home with a pile of dos and donts. I was well informed when i left. When he says he is available to you 24/7 he means it. I had a minor scare and he talked me through it (come to find out it was nothing do with the surgery.) Never once made me feel "dumb" for getting worried about something that did not feel right.... he would always get me in for an appointment to ensure me everything is OK! Then there is the office staff! Amazing always so accommodating always smiling as well as so super helpful. Where do I even start about Dr. Ali Mosharrafa and his staff? I was diagnosed with breast cancer in January, found out I was BRAC2 positive and elected for a double mastectomy with reconstruction. I cannot say enough good things about this doctor, his staff and his facility. From the moment I met him, I knew I didn't need to interview any other plastic surgeons - he was the one. He made me and my husband feel comfortable, gave us hope for normalcy, and was AMAZING through the entire 7 month journey I was on with him. Dr. Tamir Mosharrafa performed my breast reconstruction directly after my double mastectomy. When I got my cancer diagnosis I consulted with several plastic surgeons and did my research to find the right doctor. The moment I met Dr. Mosharrafa, I knew he was the surgeon for me. He was the perfect mix of skill and compassion. At our first consult he went into depth explaining all my options and then provided his recommendation and the reasons behind it. He was extremely knowledgeable but also caring. I was very happy with my natural breast and upset that cancer was robbing me of them. He was very kind and understanding which is not always the case with plastic surgeons. He said he would get as close as he could to my natural breasts. Dr. Mosharrafa did not disappoint. This was my first visit to Mosharrafa Plastic Surgery. The front desk was friendly and made me feel comfortable which was nice. I have been to a top plastic surgeon in Texas for dermal fillers for nasal labial folds and to have my lips plumped, and the plastic surgeon did the procedures. At Mosharrafa, Jaime (sp?) does the procedures, not the plastic surgeon. I was a bit nervous, but she is AMAZING. She is very personable, which I appreciated. The pain of the needles was so much less as she used a different procedure on most of the injection sites, and she told me what she was doing every step to make sure it was what I wanted. The results were better than the plastic surgeon I had been to previously for the same fillers. She is very artistic and has a great eye for symmetry so you would be in great hands with her. Bonus, no bruising....none. Slight swelling for a few days, which I did ice several times a day, and I did not take ibuprofen, asprin/any inflammatory medication for a week before I had this done. Dr. Tamir Mosharrafa is so extremely talented!!! I had a breast reduction about 16 years ago by another surgeon in the valley. I was pleased because there was improvement but was never really happy with my scars (they show in my cleavage and go into my armpit and they're thick and raised). Fast forward and now 16 years later I've had a child, hit the 40-year milestone and have hypothyroid issue and now my perfect C-cup breasts are a DDD-cup again! I have the BRCA 1 gene (ovarian & breast cancer) and decided to have a preventative double mastectomy & reconstruction. Dr. Mosharrafa treated me like a person rather than a statistic throughout the entire process. His entire office was kind, organized, timely & professional.
