I could not be happier with my experience and with Dr. Ali Mosharrafa (& his amazing staff). Over the years I've had a few consultations here and there with breast augmentation and never went through with it. Doctors I've seen, I just didn't exactly trust they would do what I wanted and I felt like I was just another patient. Although, its something I've always wanted to do and it's still been on my mind. Dr Ali is top notch! He was very thorough in explaining what he recommended for my case and the results were exactly what I imagined. His office staff is so friendly and helpful. They went the extra mile and are very patient. The nurses were so attentive, gentle and professional. I had tummy tuck and breast lift with small implant done March 2022. Choose this surgeon because a close friend of mine had used him several years back and did a great job. Met with him and he seemed very confident in his work, and made me feel like I was in great hands and nothing to worry about. I can't complain on the actual experience of surgery day. It went great, after care was great. The questions came after I was able to see my belly and breast for the first time. My tummy tuck incision was just all over the place up and down. Not a straight line and I noticed one side was extra loose and can tell I had "extra skin still." I also had a large fupa if that makes sense still. He kept telling me let the swelling go down it's all part of the process. At my 3 month check up I still had the same concerns. My breast incisions are also all over the place and I won't ever be able to wear a normal bikini top because it goes up to far. After I expressed concerns with Dr. Ali he said well I should be happy I am 80% better than before. He was super arrogant and didn't like me questioning his work. I could tell. So I walked away paying over 25k for horrific results. Needless to say I had a tummy tuck revision by a different surgeon, almost a year after my initial and it was done how it should have the first time. I DO NOT RECOMMEND! A year and a half ago I had a procedure done at the Mosharrafa's clinic. One week after surgery the incisions burst open in the middle of the night and I lost over half the blood in my body within 30 minutes. I nearly lost my life. The Mosharrafa's did not come to see me in the hospital until 13 hours after it happened, and only after I was moved to another hospital where they had "privileges". They were dismissive and seemingly mystified as to why it occurred and were more concerned with downplaying what happened and avoiding all responsibility than they were with showing actual care and concern and reassurance. I was terrified and completely traumatized both by what happened as well as by their obvious disinterest. The scarring is horrific, nothing like what was described to me before surgery. The results are uneven and disappointing, and now I have thousands of dollars of medical bills that will take years to pay. I have horrible scarring and nerve damage that will require further surgery to fix. I still have nightmares about what happened to me, I would never recommend this clinic. read more

Edited to add: I was diagnosed with breast cancer at 36 in late 2020 and because of the pandemic these offices required that I attend all appointments alone. Following my posting of these public reviews, Dr. Mosharrafa called my cell phone and requested that I give him "an opportunity to discuss these things" and suggested that I "come to chat after hours" or call him on his cell. My last appointment was nearly 2 years ago and it was cancelled by his office while I was on my way there. He never called to follow up with me and he was fully aware of the majority of my issues. If he actually cared about anything other than himself and negative reviews, he could have done something two years ago. Dr. Tamir Mosharrafa promised me smaller breasts (36DDD to 36B or C), and didn't deliver. He told me I was a candidate for nipple sparing reconstruction, and I was not. He repeatedly did not look at my records or available information regarding my care, and lied about it. He told me not to discuss my care regarding reconstruction with anyone else on my care team (more than once). He did not call my husband to share information following my surgery as was promised. He refused to prescribe a medication that I have historically taken that was successful for me, because of personal reasons. While performing my surgery he did not give me significantly smaller breasts (I can still fit into my old bras) and successful revision and replacement was not possible, like he promised. Due to radiation treatment and his horizontal incision, what he promised me was next to impossible. He and his office regularly gave me inconsistent information regarding my preparation and recovery. He dismissed my legitimate concerns regarding issues as a result of my surgery and treatment, delaying care. He consistently interrupted me, scolded me ("I AM the doctor and YOU ARE the patient!"), lectured me and when I told him that I was uncomfortable with the way he was treating me, he responded that he was uncomfortable as well. I will start by saying I had consults with 5 doctors before deciding on Dr Ali Mosharrafa. I was diagnosed with breast cancer and wanted immediate Masectomy to reconstruction. I needed a plastic surgeon as well as an oncological surgeon and I kept finding great oncologist but the plastic surgeons seemed to be so far behind in treatment and techniques. I'm big on advocating for yourself and not just taking the first medical opinion you're handed and I'm glad I persisted. Dr Ali made sure I was a candidate for the reconstruction surgery I wanted and never made unrealistic promises. I appreciated his openness and honesty. I believe he truly has a heart for breast cancer reconstruction and handles these cases with the upmost care. Long story short, I was not satisfied with the results of my rhinoplasty. After discussing the goals of the surgery and being reaffirmed they were achievable, I chose Mosharrafa Plastic Surgery. After my surgery, I was only called back into the office once while my nose was still extremely swollen. Because the healing process can take over a year, I was patiently waiting for the swelling of the tip of my nose to go down, but that never happened. The tip of my nose is still bulbous which was the opposite of what I hoped to achieve. I almost feel like its rounder than before the surgery, which could be because I had a hump on the bridge of my nose, and once that was taken down, the tip appeared larger. Either way, I would have expected the doctor to adjust the tip to be in proportion with the rest of my nose. I raised these concerns with the doctors years after my surgery, and he made me feel as if my expectations were unrealistic by insinuating perfection was my goal. I assure you it was not. After investing thousands of dollars in a procedure, it isn't unrealistic to expect something close to what you're asking for. read more

Seriously, I have had root canals that were more uncomfortable than this procedure. A few caveats: Go into the procedure in as good a physical condition as possible. Keep your diet clean. This was a couple of years ago, and perhaps things have changed now, but it's bothered me for so long I feel like I have to share it. I had a consult for reconstructive breast surgery following breast cancer. I am a very proactive patient- I had done a lot of research on my own and knew what options were available, but I needed to discuss those options with my (potential) plastic surgeon to decide which one was best for me. The doctor here refused to discuss options with me, focusing instead on only one type of surgery. I felt that a good surgeon, even if he wasn't comfortable PERFORMING other types of surgery, should have been willing to educate me and answer my questions, or even refer me to someone else who could. Not here! I ended up leaving, unhappy with my experience. Needless to say, I did not hire them. I saw 2 other doctors first, who were much more forthcoming with information, and ultimately decided on an entirely different procedure than the one these doctors wanted to perform. I'd heard a lot of great things about these doctors, and perhaps they are phenomenal for cosmetic surgery. But I would not recommend them for reconstructive patients. read more

I did the procedure on Thursday and I'm VERY pleased with the results. Bandages came off on Monday and there was minimal pain. I was so happy that Dr. Mosharrafa does not "pack the nose" as I've heard that is the most difficult part of the procedure to deal with. Having my nose drain onto a gauze is not only more comfortable but it just seems like a much more natural way for my nose to begin the healing process. I experienced a post-op trauma on Sunday night. (I got hit right in the face while still wearing the bandages). I ended up calling Dr. Ali at midnight through tears and he was very considerate and reassuring. When I saw him the next morning he again reassured me that it was best for me to have called and that he was there for ANY questions or concerns. For bed-side manners...he gets and A+. It has been about a month since my "mommy makeover" and I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Mosharrafa and my entire experience. As a physician myself, it was very important for me to do thorough research about my surgical candidates before I trusted any of them with such an invasive procedure. I had started my journey to pre-baby body by interviewing several other "popular" plastic surgeons in the Scottsdale/N. Phoenix area. I could not stand the cocky nature of the other surgeons and their quotes were quite high. A friend had referred me to Dr. Ali Mosharrafa and I set up my consult (which he does not charge for). I felt an instant connection with Dr. Mosharrafa. He was kind and passionate about his patients and what he does. Not only did his words articulate this, but his body language reflected this and was also consistent with his words (I have a background in cognitive neuroscience and I'm fascinated with deception through body language). This made me feel safe trusting him as my surgeon. It was also really great that he was priced less than his competitors. The morning of the surgery, I showed up to Piper Surgical Center (Scottsdale Shea) and 2 out of the 3 nurses who worked with me for pre-op prep commented on how all the nurses were excited to have Dr. Mosharrafa working in their hospital due to his stellar reputation and warm demeanor (he had recently moved his overnight surgical location to Piper from somewhere else). This helped confirm that I had made the right decision when choosing a surgeon. Nurses always know the real truths behind the docs.... When I awoke from surgery Dr. Mosharrafa was right there talking gently to me about how well everything went. He gives his patients a cell number to use at anytime to contact him directly if there are any questions or concerns. I never had to use the number, but it was reassuring to know that I had a direct line to my surgeon. I visit Dr. Mosharrafa every week still to monitor my progress and get my embrace scar therapy tape changed. I loved my results just 4 days post op, even though the best results don't come about until 6 months, or so (which varies by person). I got arrogant responses when I was unhappy with my results. This man should NOT be performing facelifts in my opinion. Went in to Brandie for a consultation, my first time ever getting lip fillers and HAD SOMEONE WITH me. We are still laughing how the heck we went in there knowing my first time and it was just to get lips not even an explanation or consultation... He even says it's our fault we didn't stop it and just not get them.. But she was setting up and everything and me being the person I am I wanted them right away!!! She really had just planned on doing my lips!!!!! Lol. NO explaining of you need to build or anything so I was thinking you know that swelling wouldn't go down. NO EXPLANATION OF ANYTHING!!! I Was in and out 25 mins tops. 15 of the 25 was the numbing 10 mins tops was spent on filling my lips! I was as well as being talked into a $350 face kit. Which I love! The swelling went down 12 days later and I was upset like what?! They look the same as they did before! It was like nothing had been done to my lips.... Remind you that I had never been explained it needs to build and I had very small lips. So, I called the front desk on a Monday and asked to leave a message for Brandie as she is not in on Mondays. Receptionist then proceeded to ask for what and I said I was not happy and she then wanted me to talk to the manager Kara, the lady who takes care of everything there. I said there's really no need I just want to get them done again and leave a message with Brandie, because I wasn't informed ONE wasn't gonna be close to enough for me to be happy. The manager then went on to be sweet and say come in tomorrow and we will try to discount you and make you happy. Man... Brandie was the rudest person EVER because I got a discount... She literally was so rude to me and I kept trying to tell her I wasn't calling to complain... Needless to say discounted is still $350 as the fillers there are $500 (but it wasn't about the money, I felt so out of place even being there because Brandie told me she has way too many customers she didn't need to do my lips at a discount... (Literally this is how rude she was, only one of the comments..) I was in and out with numbing 7 mins tops. This is what happened when the swelling went down two weeks later. (Picture attached) Uneven. All she cares about is the money. I finally listened to one of my best friends and got fillers by the most amazing lady who fixed my problem and (a lot cheaper) and I was there 1:15 from talking explaining everything she did with my lips to make them perfect. I wrote an email to the manager with the picture attached when my lips swelled down to be uneven like this and got no response until a Yelp review was written. I was a patient of Dr. Tamir Mosharrafa for four years, as I battled two rounds of breast cancer. His arrogance never seemed to bother me, as it did my family, until the end. When my cancer came back, and I was diagnosed with stage IV IBC, he sat in his office and told me that he would perform a surgery that would remove all the infected area of skin the cancer had appeared on. He said he cleared his calendar so that he would ensure the surgery would go as planned. Also stating that he would perform frozen sections, so that during surgery, they could verify all of the margins were clear of cancer. However, It turns out that Dr. Tamir Mosharrafa lied about the entire surgery. He didn't clear his schedule, and when the surgery wasn't able to start on time, he told me he might have to cancel because he had another surgery to attend to. When they were able to get me in 20 minutes later, I was relieved. I felt that this was my last/best chance to survive. During the surgery, without consulting anyone except the other surgeon in the operating room, he decided that he would only remove my breast implant and half the infected skin area. Taking it all would involve an agreed upon skin graft. I guess he was short on time, and wanted to make sure he could charge for two surgery's that day. In the end, he didn't take any frozen sections, and had no idea if he had aided in my cancer treatment plan. A skin biopsy could have been performed instead of this surgery to provide me with the same results. Dr. Tamir Mosharrafa is a selfish, narcissistic man, with a lack of empathy for his patients. If you're a cancer patient, I would highly advise you to look elsewhere for a plastic surgeon. Don't put your life in his hands. This incident was reported to the Arizona Medical board. read more
