Came in from California to have my breast reduction with a lift, NO implants. Consulted with 4 good surgeons in San Diego prior to finding Dr. Malek. Drove to Scottsdale and met with his coordinater Jennifer (who is professional, helpful and kind) and Dr. Malek. Scheduled my surgery and drove back to Ca. A few times I was going to cancel my surgery due to being nervous and scared to "change my body." Jennifer talked me off a ledge and I showed up. I just had my third surgery w Dr Malek over the course of 14 years (implants after babies 14 yrs ago, removal of implants & lift a year ago, and then implants put in again a week ago). I was beyond content w my original implants and the whole experience, but after a while thought I wanted them out due to upper back pain that I thought was correlated and the age of the implants. Dr Malek was supportive and took time to explain the whole procedure as well as what to expect going from full breasts to nothing w a lift. The finished product was great but after a year I came to the decision that I wanted smaller implants put in so my body was more proportionate. Dr Malek took the time to walk me through this decision and in no way pushed getting them back in. Both times getting implants put in I explained I wanted to "keep people guessing" and did not want to look like I had implants but rather nice natural looking breasts (before baby breasts with a little extra)! When I initially started considering having my implants removed and liposuction I did what most do; used google and yelp to search plus asked my network for referrals. Dr. Malek's name came up numerous times which is what led me to schedule my consultation. From my initial phone call to schedule, in person consultation, surgery then post op I have been extremely satisfied not only with Dr. Malek's attention to detail, professionalism and care for my overall health as a patient but his team of office staff has been extraordinary. Jennifer is the Office Coordinator and while I know I'm certainly not the only patient in the office she consistently treats me as though I am. I needed FMLA and other medical documentation for my employer and insurance claims which she without hesitation completed quickly. The day of surgery I was nervous but his surgery center and staff there specifically the nurse and anesthesiologist were amazing! I've never felt so taken care of pre-op. While I don't recall everything that happened once I was out of surgery I do remember feeling the best I ever had post op. I've had a number of surgeries and this by far was my best experience. In addition, to the top quality of service Jennifer, the rest of the office and surgery team provides I appreciated Dr. Malek's approach to ensuring the procedures I selected were the right ones for me. When I went in for my consultation I asked for multiple areas of liposuction but he was very honest in declining to do certain areas stating those areas were unnecessary. He did recommend Kybella for under my chin because I wanted liposuction to remove my double chin. He explained why that wasn't the best course of action and how Kybella might give me the results I wanted. Removing my implants was a decision I made due to my age and health but I appreciated that he was very clear about what the result would be removing my implants without replacing them which is why he would also be doing a breast lift. I had thought that might be the case but I loved that he cared about the overall appearance and as a practice does that in this type of situation. I'm 4 weeks post op. I feel compelled now to give my review of Dr. Malek and his staff. To start, he is a 5-star doctor/physician and talented surgeon, who is extremely passionate about his craft. He has empathy, compassion and is a visionary man. As a single mother, I visited several surgeons to "make-over" my breasts, after losing a lot of weight for my 5'1" frame, as well as breast feeding my baby for 2 years. I earned a bonus at work and a very small inheritance - clearly I thought through spending my money. The outcome - I was EXTREMELY pleased!!!! It's 16 years later, I am healing from my breast lift procedure that I had almost 3 weeks ago. Once again, Dr. Malek hit it out of the park. About 3 years ago I consulted with him about a revision because I was becoming unhappy with MY breasts, not his work, MY breasts. He, as always, took the time to explain why it was not a good time for me to have the revisions - to wait. "Skin is finite", he said, "it can only stretch so much, you're still 'young', and there's time." Hmmmm, but I followed his advice. Why wouldn't I? After following his advice 16 years ago, I healed wonderfully and truly enjoyed the enhancement. Back to today, August 30th. I visited him during a Dysport appointment months ago, and we discussed where I was and that I wanted a revision - I am too critical about myself and wanted to perfect my body I guess. Well, apparently it was the right time to do it! And during a f*^#ing pandemic no less. I listened to every word he said, precautions, anesthesia, pre-opt, post-opt - every word. I am extremely grateful and happy with his expert hands, skillset, bedside manner, staff (no matter who I work with there, I always get A+ service, compassion and empathy) and of course the outcome. I am in the process of healing and will continue to listen to him, after all, he is a doctor. Am I happy today with MY body, never. Wow I am shocked at all the five stars it's funny because about a year ago when I had surgery there were some three and two stars and along with my review they were gone seems like he raced them somehow magically LOL this doctor really did not listen to me at all. He's very egotistical claims that he never has to advertise but if you pick up any Scottsdale magazine there he is right there so line number one why number two he takes his time no he does not. I had a lift and breast enhancement . One year later they are saggy and I have deep scars all over that are worse than what I've seen online or in person.I wanted them to be higher up I told him that and they way lower and bigger. he tried to explain to me and made no sense I should've went to the other doctor I'm kicking myself in the butt now I have to pay another $5000 to get them redone. I had a red flag right before I had my operation with one of the receptionist that told me something she said that she goes to the conventions and all the doctors ask him why he doesn't take that much time with the patients in surgery and he said he doesn't need to because he's that good. If that's not egotistical I don't know what is. I complained numerous times and he did nothing and made me by embrace which was $100 each time it's supposed to help your scars and it does but on top of everything I was in so much pain afterwards that he did not even refill my pain medication I had to go to the emergency room! Not to mention all the back pain that I have from having huge breast again terrible Dr. all these five stars must be fake or he just doesn't like me I don't know. STAY AWAY!! Poor after-care after breast reduction. My scar on one side was extremely irritated and not healing properly and the nurse indicated everything would be fine and "looked ok." At the next visit with Dr. Malek, the wound was so infected that it required multiple rounds of antibiotics, several additional follow up appointments for steroid injections (off the record) and stitches to repair the damage, extending recovery time over 15 months! Eager to get my business, they graciously offered to work with me and go through my insurance, which they typically don't accept. I was going out of network to come to him, as a specialist - he was supposed to be the best! This was a fully covered, medically necessary procedure. Their office manager, Melinda, and assistant, Taylor took the liberty to file all of the paperwork for me, but as soon as I paid my deposit and put the remaining balance on a care credit card, with their good faith promise that I'd be reimbursed by insurance within 30 days, Melinda contacted the insurance company and told them they would no longer be filing a claim on my behalf, as "the client" (me) had already paid them. I was out $11,400 (not including care card charges) with no leg to stand on. For over a year Dr. Malek himself told me "not to give up" and "to fight my insurance to get reimbursed," knowing that they did not file a claim. Taylor, the office assistant even went as far as to have me speak with her father, an out of state attorney to discuss the matter, because she didn't understand why I was not getting reimbursed by insurance. She was convinced I had a case! All along it was his office staff that prevented me from getting reimbursed. Once the office staff realized I had learned the truth, they stopped answering or returning my calls. It is unfortunate they were unwilling to partially reimburse and make the situation right for a procedure that would have been covered by my insurance. read more

She was beyond knowledgeable, not only did she explain the entire process of how the injections work but also the little "sound" you hear as it's being injected. Marc Malek is amazing! I was actually referred to him by another surgeon in Scottsdale who only did breast augmentations and not implant exchanges/revisions. I had my initial consultation with him 4 years ago after being unhappy with the size and symmetry of my initial breast augmentation. I told Dr. Malek I wanted to go a whole cup size bigger and he refused. I was a little disappointed when he told me that going bigger just wouldn't support my size, frame, or anatomy( I am 5'2 113 lbs). However if he recommends a size for you TRUST HIM. He cares about quality of implant vs quantity of ccs. Dr Malek stresses looking good naked and maintaining a balanced and natural physique. So if you're looking for a overly done boob job that will sag over time or just not maintain their initial shape then he's not the doctor for you. He emphasizes beautiful breasts that will still look great in several years which you won't find with most surgeons. Most doctors will take your money and give you whatever You want without considering the long term effects. Not him! It wasn't until October of 2018 that I made the decision to book my surgery with him when I experienced what I thought was breast implant illness. After an extensive consultation he decided that an implant exchange was the better option between that and explanting. He assured me that an implant exchange would not only improve my overall confidence but there was a possibility that new implants may be a solution to my health issues. I am exactly one month post op and couldn't be happier! Not only have my BII symptoms gone away but my breasts look great! I've never been so comfortable getting undressed in my life. My first surgery left me more insecure and embarrassed because it was overall a botched boob job for lack of better words. Dr Malek restored my health and confidence and I couldn't be more grateful! His staff is so sweet and great with their follow up care. I have seen them 4 times already and it's only been a month. I love my boobs!! I am 40 and have NEVER been able to say that. I had saline implants 17 years ago in an attempt to correct asymmetry. Surgery improved them slightly but after two pregnancy's and 4 years of nursing the asymmetry was back in full effect as well as the thin skinning and laxity that goes along with post pregnancy. I thought I wanted to stay the same size but Dr. Malek convinced me that going down a 1/2 - 3/4 cup size and getting a lift would give me the best outcome and he was right.
