We had to have our Mazda towed in to replace the serpentine belt that had broken. When the belt broke, it drained the battery. The tech changed the belt, cleaned up the battery and charged the battery. There was also a check engine light on, so the tech checked the plugs and rotors and cleared the code. The car was in and out in one day and now the car drives great. Excellent service! read more

My truck's check engine light kept turning on. We ran the codes and it said it was the MAP sensor so we replaced that ourselves. The engine light came back on and was saying it was the MAP Sensor again, we took it to a shop in California (on a road trip) and they said it was because it wasn't name brand. They replaced the MAP sensor with a name-brand one and a few weeks later the light came back on... throwing the same code. We took it to Moscow Auto and they said the same thing and replaced the MAP Sensor. A few days later the engine light came back on. We called him and he quickly took the vehicle back into his shop and spent 2 days figuring out the problem. He said it was free of charge. Highly recommend Moscow Auto. They take the time to figure out what's wrong and you can tell they love the work they do. It doesn't feel like they are trying to gouge you for money, an honest business! read more

Moscow Auto Services - 4 stars This is the only place I trust to work on my car in the area because they do a good job the first time. They are good at fixing dents, replacing lights, and finishing the job as well as leaving the work area cleaner than when they started. This is very important as other auto services are slimy, untrustworthy, uncouth, lying, destructive, and a thousand other words to describe how messed up they are and what they do to your car is unbelievable. So good job to Moscow Auto Services for not being completely corrupt like everywhere else. The staff is nice and honest. They are quick and professional at what they do. I had what could very well be an anomalous negative experience with Moscow Auto Service considering their great reputation with everyone I know in town. I'm documenting it anyway. I received a quote from a mechanic on a long list of maintenance services on my Jeep. The price beat the dealership--not by an extreme amount, but cheaper--so I made an appointment. When I picked up my Jeep the bill was *twice* the amount I was quoted, which I brought to the mechanic's attention. He couldn't say why I had been quoted half the actual cost, and said he remembered giving me the quote over the phone and that was that. I had no form of proof other than notes I took while getting the quote. I looked over the bill and they had not even done some of the services I asked for, ex. changing out only the rear axle fluid when I needed both front and rear. I didn't feel like I could find any resolution, and I definitely didn't feel like getting a quote to finish the services I needed. Again, perhaps an anomaly. Still, I was put in a fishy position that had a big impact on my finances. It seemed very much like one of those fishy things you hear about at certain mechanics. read more

I drive an old German car, which can be a painful and expensive experience if you don't know a good, trustworthy mechanic. The other Moscow/Pullman shops refuse to work on my car because of its age and complexity, including the import specialists. Moscow Auto Service has been fantastic with extremely reasonable prices, and they even allow me to bring in my own hard-to-find parts when a repair is needed. They've saved my bacon several times, so I'm very happy to post this glowing review so that others can know about their excellent service. read more

My most recent experience was not good. I squeezed in an appointment while packing for a move. There's a lot of boxes in my truck, and apparently the mechanic needed to move the seat a few inches because they tipped and pushed my personal things out of the way, and also crushed a box behind the seat. Absolutely no need to do this, with complete disregard to my property. The woman I spoke to about this was patronizing and rude. COVID-19 update: nobody at this business wears masks or observes sanitation guidelines. I did not feel safe inside the small office with no ventilation. My credit cards were handled by other people, I used a dirty pen to sign, and felt compelled to wipe down every surface in my truck after leaving. This is all really unfortunate, because the mechanics do great work and pricing here is fair. We've brought our vehicles here for 30 years, but I will not be returning to Moscow Auto Service. read more

We have been going to Moscow Auto Service for years because of the incredible service and quality of their work. One of our vehicles wouldn't start last week and we called them hoping to get it in to their shop so I wouldn't have to miss work. They said they were very busy and might not get to it the next day. This is my first internet review I have ever written. This is not something I do nor feel the need to do. However, what I experienced in March-April of 2018 deserves commenting and reflecting upon as it relates to the service (or lack therof) that I received from Moscow Auto Service. My friend was involved in an accident with my car in early March (the 5th). He had driven it in a ditch on a gravel road going 30mph. Most of the damage was on the front passenger side. He had the car towed to Moscow Auto Service--and my initial impression was favorable. However, after a few days of my car being there and the non-responsiveness of Bruce via my phone calls, messages, and stopping into the shop to check-in, my attitude changed. Bruce continually referenced the difficulty working with insurance (I have StateFarm) on preparing an estimate. This went on for weeks. I am not exaggerating--weeks. I would call often to check in, met with no response or return calls. I would continually call StateFarm to see what their perspective was--continually they were waiting on Bruce to submit, or resubmit an estimate. I finally elected in the last week of March to relocate my car due to the fact that it had not been worked on at all, nor had a proper estimate been submitted or approved of--and there was no sign of work being done in the immediate future. I told Bruce about my decision, asking if there were any fees or issues that I would be penalized for by leaving his shop. He said there would not be any penalization. The next week StateFarm calls alerting me that Bruce had charged me a near $900 "Storage Fee" for my car. I was furious. Luckily I talked with my local StateFarm agent and the fee was reduced and inevitably covered by insurance. However, the practice and the principle of holding onto a car without doing any work and then charging the customer for a fee that in no way was reasonable (because nothing had been done) speaks volumes to the way Bruce conducts his business. I never felt like a priority with Moscow Auto Service--they gave me no reason to respect their work, customer service, or general business practices. --- Lastly, I had my car towed from Moscow Auto Service to University Collision where Jesse was kind, prompt, and professional. My car arrived on April 1st/2nd and on April 3rd I had an approved estimate from Jesse and his shop. It took under 3 days for his shop to have an estimate submitted and approved. It took Bruce over 3-weeks and counting to not have anything to show for it. I got my car back on April 18th--nearly 5 weeks after the initial accident. The only reason for such a delay, difficulty, and frustration was due to my experience with Moscow Auto Service. --- read more

Not only where they able to get her in and fixed they also were very fair on their pricing. Was worried about being overcharged but totally not the case at all. We were passing through the area from Oregon and broke down. A local transmission shop was giving us the runaround. Dan at Moscow Auto Service went over our problem, gave advice and test drove our vehicle at no cost!!! The local transmission shop even had to have someone from Moscow Auto Service come over and actually fix our vehicle at their shop. Our 2007 Subaru was having some issues starting- we had the battery tested, cleaned the terminals, and replaced one battery cable ourselves. The car died once again so we tried giving Moscow Auto another chance (after a bad experience a few years ago). We told him what had been happening, and that it may be the starter, possible fuel pump, or otherwise. They came and towed it, we got a call a few days later that the car was starting just fine and he had no issues. He "messed with" the other cable and told us it was ready to come pick up- apparently not testing the starter or otherwise. Had he tested it, or done some real research, he could have made about $200 more off of us, with a common fix. We drove to Spokane for some errands, and sure enough our starter went out in a shopping center parking lot. We are now dealing with a tow truck, trying to find a mechanic here, and had to stay overnight. Moscow Auto chose to tow us from our home on a Sunday, which we told him we could wait until a weekday- the tow alone cost $125 for a 1.3 mile trip. He charged us $25 to wiggle the cables, and here we are dealing with the issue we told him was the problem in the first place. In a foreign city. With a second tow bill. With a hotel stay. And having to make a second trip back up to pick up the car when it's fixed because we now have to find a way back to Moscow. Good times, Moscow Auto. Good, expensive times. read more
