I should have trusted some reviewers! I ordered 12"by12" gold mosaic for 70 pieces online on 12/14 and 12/15 they said they have only 42 now and 28 more is coming next week so I canceled order but I was thinking it should be arrive on time if next week, I reschedule my contractor. I ordered again on 12/20 and told them I will order 28 more in the next few days (should be before the less arrives at their shop). I told my customers that we will close the shop a little bit long. On 11/23 I haven't received a shipment confirmation, I emailed them ask what's going on and they said the material has not arrive yet should be mid of next week (customer service should call or email me the update). I have to reschedule my contractor AGAIN!!! It's been 2 weeks (they told me only one week since 12/14 and I still have his voice mail on my phone) and I haven't received my 28 mosaics yet. This is how my January 1st, 2022 begins, loosing money from this company because I have to close my business longer than expect!!!!! **** They never apologize to you and they think I am wrong to blame them about this and they said go buy elsewhere (just because I give them 1 star review?) ****** UPDATE*** 01/03 they just canceled my order without asking me AGAIN, and I have to reschedule with my contractor AGAIN!!! Just like other reviewers have said, stay away from this place - it's a good example of "if the price is too good to be true...". They either are extremely unorganized in their online business, or fraudulent. One month after ordering and receiving nothing except for a confirmation email and a charge to my account, I started calling and emailing to find out where my stone was. No one ever answered the phone; no one ever emailed me until I opened a dispute. Even then, they said they would refund the money but have not yet. They even had the audacity to say they were going to deduct an "adjustment" fee because of some new policy they have. Trouble. read more

I recently ordered 320 square feet of Roca tile from this vendor. Not only did I get at least a 50% discount over what I would pay locally, they shipped to Hawaii! That in itself is a small miracle. So why miracle shippers? Of the 320 square feet of tile only eight arrived broken. That is less than 1%, and the order came over during two severe winter storms which made for a rough crossing to my beautiful big island. Last, but by no means least, their customer service was fabulous. They follow-up and really care about their service. Worst company I've ever dealt with I ordered some tiles on June 25, 2015; a month later, after sending a couple of emails inquiring about my order, I still had no tiles. They finally sent me a credit memo, but I still haven't seen the credit posted either on PayPal or my Amex account. AND, they are charging me an adjustment fee for the credit. Oh dear, I wanted to believe in them when they said that they were new owners committed to customer service and aware of their dreadful reputation! I spoke to them at length and they were very pleasant and helpful. I made the giant leap of faith and ordered from them because they were the ONLY source I could find for the tile I had set my heart on. Alas, their idea of free shipping is to cram $1200 worth of marble mosaic tile into 7 USPS flat rate shipping boxes (about $18 each to ship) with almost no packing and send them from New Jersey to California. How they got the post office to ACCEPT them I have no idea because I could not get them to DELIVER to my house as they said they were too heavy! After a great deal of back and forth my local postie sneeked them on his van for me (always be nice to your local postman) but what a sad state they were in. All the boxes showed signs of damage (I would estimate they weighed about 60 pounds each) and one was destroyed. Of the 95 slabs 22 had damage. I consider it a miracle that any arrived undamaged! The company asked me to send pictures which I did. They sent me 7 replacements and then stopped answering my emails. Their excuse was that 'proper shipping' would double the price. Well maybe, but I would have happily paid shipping (and did to another company whose shipment arrived perfectly) to avoid this mess and extra work. SO.. you make your choices and you take your chances. For me it was worth it because a) I had grossly over-ordered! b) The tile looks wonderful!! (a happy ending!!) read more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I ordered 10 of these tiles. The website allowed me to purchase them as singles. After waiting about 5 days with no email confirmation, I called the business to ask what was going on as I saw the charge on my credit card. Upon calling, I quickly realized I was calling someones cell phone. The person that answered put me on a long hold while they checked on my order. He also informed me that often their order confirmation emails end up in your spam box... sure enough there it was! It sounded like there were children in the background so I assume this person was working from home. He then came back telling me he had to check the Boston distribution center to ensure that the item was in stock. Second he started telling me that I could not purchase 10 as they are sold in 4 packs. The website never aid this and again it allowed me to purchase 10 and charged me for 10. So now I am being told I need to make another purchase of 2 additional tiles. Okay I guess... but didn't sit well with me. More time passed with no response when the order was going to be ready for pickup. A couple of inquiry emails again over a couple more days, and the email I got back read: "Jonathan, Unfortunately this item is not in stock in our Boston, MA....the closest location available for pickup is Edison, NJ. Please advise if you would like to receive a refund or pickup at Edison, NJ. thanks" Yea NO! I do not think that I should be responsible for driving to NJ to pickup my order, nor paying for the cost of shipping when I elected local pickup from the beginning. When I challenged them on this and called them on the fact that their website says that they have 4850 of this item in stock, I was told that their website is "not that smart" and that they cant keep track of all of their points of distribution around the country. I spoke to the "customer service" person again who started making all these excuses for why they can not get me the tiles. I asked him to stop and think about the situation. I told him I am the customer and should not be told all these reasons why their business model doesn't work well. I just want the tiles that I paid for. Clearly this business is just a virtual dealer / re-seller for MSI stone that does not care if they create unhappy customers. Reputation means NOTHING to them. The last email they sent informed me that they fully refunded my order. That's fine but I will never do business with you again and the general public has a right to know what kind of shabby business they run. BUYER BEWARE!!! BAD BAD BAD customer service. I purchased online to pickup at the manufacture's warehouse in Seattle. Pros: Price - way cheaper than the local tile retailers Cons: Communication I had to call Mosaic Tile Direct to get a pickup number. (I didn't get an e-mail saying, your order is ready to pick up, take this number to the warehouse) Before going to pickup, I called the warehouse, gave my pickup number and was told to come pick it up; when I arrived the order "hasn't been released" and left empty handed. Called retailer, got voicemail, (after hours retailer's time) left message. They returned my call, letting me know everything was ready to go. Called warehouse and was told the order was ready for pickup, and was able to pickup the order without a problem. There was confusion between the retailer and the warehouse in Seattle, this took a couple of days to sort out. Ultimately, I would purchase again online because I saved 46% of what the local retailers would sell it to me for. It was a hassle but a worthwhile one. read more

TERRIBLE experience. The company filled out paper work incorrectly. I spent 5 hours trying to get that sorted out. Tile was delivered 2 weeks late. I then received an additional bill for $150 for shipping (I had already spent $150 on shipping). The owner said he would take care of it. I've been doing a major bathroom gut -as a homeo wner. Having never dealt directly with a stone supplier, I was very nervous about several dicey concerns: was my job too small, were there individuals I could speak to, to address questions I had, etc. Mosaic Tile Direct was able to let me know their current stock of my preferred - Very Specific- tile, and what my options were time-wise, for having it. After learning I could even pick up from their place in Newark, I was sold. All went well with my initial order and then I needed to make a few design modifications that changed which sizes I could use and Amir and Kash worked with me to resolve both, the return of some square footage of unused stone, as well as delivering to my door - the very next morning- of the new material I needed! Are they a polished, well-oiled machine? Well, honestly, if I wanted to pay double the price I could have been dealing with either the fancy showrooms (3-middlemen levels away from me and what I need ("oh, that can't be delivered until a week from next Thursday and it L cost you double" type of thing), or the (non-English-speaking) guys in Flushing, where I also have to wait, but I can't even effectively communicate my needs with any confidence that they are being heard. Anyhow, Amir and Kash worked with me and resolved my needs in such a timely and efficient manner. I won't hesitate to use them again if the need arises. read more

Stay away form these guys. Bought a specific tile I wanted as they were 1/2 the price as everybody else and no charge for shipping, wow. They "sat" on the order for 10 days and realizing their pricing error on the item simply send me a cancellation/refund Email. They should have either (1) admitted their mistake on pricing or (2) processed the order as posted in the first place - I would have been OK with either one. By the Way I have not received the refund either, and I'm still following-up on the off chance (about one in 5 calls) that they actually answer their phone. No Tile- No Reply I ordered 10 pieces of tile from mosaic tile direct 3 weeks ago to finish a tile shower. It was supposed to arrive 2 weeks ago but they said they had to get it from California and it would be Monday or Tuesday before it arrived. Tuesday came and went with no tile so I called again. This time he said it would definitely be here by Thursday. Thursday came and went and still no tile. I called again but there was no answer and their voicemail box was full so I decided I would send a text, to which there is supposed to be an instant reply. No reply to the text so I emailed the message. Again, no reply. All weekend, no reply. Monday called multiple times but no answer. They must have deleted some messages because now I can, and did, leave a voicemail. Still no reply. It is Tuesday and I'm beyond frustrated. Every lie they told me I then told my customer. They made me look like a liar. I would advise everyone to stay away. It's so unprofessional to string people along like this. Let me get the tile somewhere else. People would rather just know the truth. If you can't get the tile for 3 or 4 weeks fine, just let people know, don't avoid responding to the person. I, for one, will never use them again. I'll make sure none of my customers or colleagues ever use them and you should avoid them too, unless you like a good headache. read more

I wish I could give zero stars, this company is that bad. I ordered mosaic floor tile to finish my small bathroom on May 30, 2015. I immediately got an e-mail thanking me for my business and saying that I would receive and email as soon as my order shipped. Never got that email or any response to my email inquiries. No one answers the phone during business hours and their voicemail box was always full. Thank goodness I paid with PayPal! I filed a claim and was able to have my purchase price refunded. I ordered one sheet of tile (the small brick on mesh backing kind) so I can test it against the kind I have in my unfinished bathroom. I decided to go for a full sheet because a sample was $6, whereas a full sheet was $9 and I would have only gotten a small piece for only $3 less. The shipping (FedEx was the only option) was $12 and I hesitated over that "Place Order" button for quite some time before I finally figured, whatever, it's only $20. A week later, after getting no shipping email, I chatted in and asked for a status update. They said it should have shipped but they had to check with the warehouse, so I asked to send me an email when they get an update. 2 weeks later, after getting no emails on shipping or status updates, I emailed in to check on the status. Didn't get a response, so this morning, I sent an email requesting to cancel and refund my order because it's been a month and $20 isn't worth it for me to have to deal with this company anymore. A few hours later, I get an email that the order shipped. Do not ever order from this company. Even if the tile matches, I will not purchase the remainder of what I need to finish the bathroom. It took days of searching to find anything close to what is currently in the bathroom, and if the tile somehow magically matches, I WOULD RATHER RE-DO ALL THE TILE IN THE BATHROOM THAN ORDER FROM THESE GUYS AGAIN. read more
