Came here for the first time and it couldn't have been a better experience. The waiting room was clean and the receptionist was nice. This was my first ever experience doing a Brazilian and Monika was thorough and made me feel comfortable, especially in awkward positions. She was very punctual and talked to me throughout the whole process. She's also very professional. Was it painful...yes but Monika prepared me by warning me and making me take deep breaths prior to stripping. I would highly recommend this place. Word of advice...arrive on time even a bit earlier, they are extremely punctual...right on the minute. read more

I had first come to Monika with a groupon in 2015. And I was TERRIFIED! My first Brazilian. Monika is very professional but very friendly. She made me very comfortable and I had gone back a few times.. Then I stopped going :( But a few months ago, I decided I needed to take care of myself again and decided to come back. I go for a monthly Brazilian, Legs, Buttocks, half arms and Full face. Now that she is more than just the Wax Room, I am planning to try laser hair removal on my face and a facial. Monica is the best person in the world. She's truly an angel. I went there for the first time she made me feel so comfortable and she's such a pleasure to work with. She really has a lot of patience, and she's very understanding I just felt I was in the right hands from the beginning. She keeps you busy the entire time and she's such an awesome person to talk to. I have patronized this particular establishment a couple of times and I was happy with the service. However, recently I was late...any other time I have been on-time...As you know recently we have had snow storms...traffic..it has been hectic. I was late however, you would think because I have NEVER been late and I am a LOYAL customer who comes out of her way for the SERVICE and as a BUSINESS OWNER who wants to BUILD her BUSINESS that they would try to WORK with me and make some type of ACCOMMODATIONS...NOPE...SHE SURE DIDN'T! I would never patronize this BUSINESS EVER AGAIN! They charged me the $25 which I expected but they will NEVER GET MY MONEY AGAIN! I WOULD RATHER GO TO AN ESTABLISHMENT WHO VALUES MY SERVICE AND WANTS TO KEEP THEIR CUSTOMERS HAPPY! If you want a business that will work with their clients this is not the business! This place is awesome! I went for my first visit today and I must say I am super impressed. The wax room is located inside a doctors office, and there is plenty of street parking available. I waited about 15 minutes, which is I wasn't crazy about.... but I think that was because the woman who had an appointment before me was not on time. The room where the waxing was done was clean. I was asked to undress and lay on the table, and as soon as I was laying down the waxing begun. The wax was ready and all of the tools she needed to get the job done. The wax that she uses is a no strip wax. I have had strip Brazilian waxes before and I can say that stripless wax is NOT AS PAINFUL. I can't remember the name of the waxer, but she is the one who does all of the waxes, so you wont see someone different every time you go. Which I like because there is a level of embarrassment involved in brazilians, and I prefer to get used to one person. She was super friendly and very nice. We spoke the whole time which made me very comfortable. She gave me tips on how to avoid ingrown hairs and how to treat my skin the days following the wax. My wax was superb! No burns, no irritation, no discomfort and every hair was completely gone. She even took tweezers to take care of the stray hairs that the wax didn't catch, which was very few. I'm definitely going back, and I highly recommend the wax room. read more

The Wax Room is spotless from the waiting room to the restroom. Monika is unlike anything I've ever experienced. The waxing itself was painless. The space itself was very clinical, and initially I walked up to the place wondering if I had the right address as it looks like a doctor's office or a house from the street - signage is minimal. Since I first came hear a couple years ago, the price has increased $10 to $45. That's a little more than I can pay for regular maintenance, and I am always on the lookout for a deal for this spot even though it's out of the way for me. However, the Brazilian wax itself was the best I've ever had!! I have insanely thick, "ethnic" hair and skin prone to bumps, and I'm used to dealing with raw skin, sticky residue and deeply rooted stubble post-wax. Wow...when I leave here I am smooth and bump free with only mild redness that dissipates quickly. Never had this happen anywhere else! The Wax Room uses the hard chocolate wax (it dries completely) which is a blessing for my ultra-sensitive skin instead of that cringe-inducing resin strip wax and is also superior to the blue semi hard wax that EWC uses. The room, though clinical in setting, was very clean and dust-free, gloves are used and also no double dipping. Monika is phenomenal at putting your mind at ease and has such a great bedside manner. I feel as if I'm talking to one of my girlfriends, and she distracts me enough during the wax that I don't anticipate or even notice the pain. It really is the quickest, most pain free and dare I say pleasant (?) Brazilian wax I've ever had. If you are new to or have a fear of Brazilian waxes, this should be the first place you go to. I would suggest that you make an appointment at least a week or longer in advance as this place gets fully booked quickly with limited availability - open on Tues, Thurs and Fri only. Also, don't ever be late or decide to skip an appointment for any reason - they WILL charge you $25. Haven't had that happen as I keep my appointments, but they are very strict with scheduling and make it very clear to be on time. Fair enough for a small scale business when time is money. With that type of commitment in mind, I still don't hesitate to highly recommend this place as they do excellent work - unmatched by any other wax salon! read more

I absolutely LOVE The Wax Room! I've been going here off and on for at least two years now. Off, only because it's pretty hard for me to get to w/o a car. In any event, Monika is wonderful! I went there for my first ever Brazilian wax and not only was it almost painless, it was as if I was just having girl talk with a friend. I have been searching for a good eyebrow place forever. My shape was completely ruined when I moved out of NY and upon returning I have gone to a couple of different places trying to fix them to no avail. Last month I decided to try The Wax Room and am never looking back. Monika listens and doesn't give unrealistic advice (ex: the place I was at before kept insisting I could grow my eyebrows in a certain way although I told them the hair wouldn't grow there so then they said we'd do microneedling-um No!!). Monika helps fit your eyebrows to your face not to every new trend. My brows are stubborn and never want to grow right or fully in certain areas but she is helping me get them looking much better. I've been there twice which is why I've given 4 instead of 5 stars mainly bc I'm waiting to get the result I've been working towards and that takes some time. I anticipate this will be a 5 Star review. However, customer service is 5 and ability to make same day appts is also awesome. Monika and Denise (sp?) are both super nice and easy to talk to. Had my wax done here a few times before. Had a emergency and had to reschedule and as the other people said, they charge you the $25. If you want to book this place, MAKE SURE you come or else $25 will be charge. NO EXCEPTIONS. Will NEVER come here again. Same company with ONE waxer whose the owner. This place AMAZING! I have had such issues with wax in the past, everything is really painful or irritating to my skin, and a friend recommended Monica to me and I have been happy ever since! She is the best- very professional, neat, and does a fantastic job each time! Her secretary is very polite and welcoming, I never feel awkward or uncomfortable as I had in other places. Once I started here, I have never went anywhere else again! Also, the wax she uses for Brazilian and bikini peels off instead of using a strip, which has proven to provide better results and a lot less pain. I would give this place zero stars if I could. I would NOT recommend the Wax Room and would actually suggest never patronizing this business. I was late because of traffic, and spoke to the receptionist before I came. She informed me that there is a chance I may not be seen, but if I can make it do come. I got to the appointment 15 minutes late and worked with the receptionist to find another appointment, but we were able to find something that works for my schedule. She specifically told me that I would not be charged because I showed up. A few days later I saw a $25 fee on my card for a service I DID NOT receive. I called the owner, she was dismissive and rude and said that this is her policy. The receptionist went back on her word and said she never told me that I would not be charged. They were both dismissive and do not understand the meaning of customer service. I would never return, and suggest you not go there. They are inhumane and do not understand that things happen in life. read more
