I have had many deliveries of groceries and generally have been very pleased. Produce is fresh and high quality. Prepared foods are excellent. Store brands are as good as name brand items. The selection is surprisingly large though I have no idea how big the store is. The "shoppers" and delivery people are efficient and very professional. If items run out, the shopper will text pictures of alternatives to choose from in real time. Mistakes are readily refunded. Delivery is very fast. Prices are Manhattan high, but the service is excellent for those who do not shop inside grocery stores, like myself. read more

Happened upon this and so glad we decided to stop here instead of a Bodega for provisions while we are in New York for a few days. Stocked with essentials as well as goodies we got everything we need while we are here like fruit, yogurt and a few snack items. Gluten free options too! Sure it's pricey on some items but we're in NYC. I'm a Native New Yorker and when I lived here years ago this is how it is - nothing unusual. We came for water and a snack run. What better place than to explore Morton Williams. I was truly impressed. This compact emporium boasts a substantial variation of commodities. Super neat inside, the perfect store for someone who has OCD. I mean everything was in orderly fashion. Just looked fancy inside. Lots of options, lots of new products I had never come across. So just exploring the isles through the store was impressing. Buying water at random bodegas was not the best idea, majority just sold 12-16 ounce bottles...no one was selling large bottles unless you went to an actual known establishment. Which if you know it's all scattered and walking all day doesn't make it convenient to pay 3-4 dollars for a small bottle! Not like we rented a car, or had the abundance of free parking anywhere to drive anywhere either. So yeah time to go to the store and pick up some goods, for the next few days. Basically some water, TP, chips, cottage cheese, yogurt and some bananas were all we got, oh and some beer for papa(me, hehe). I wanna say everything was priced fair. Definitely beat buying a small bottle, you got a case here for the price of 2 bottles in a bodega. I just love saying "bodega". Super cool. Anyways it's a small tight shop, two stories. Fresh veggies, cheese, cold cuts, warm food, drinks, snacks, the whole shabang. In the end you gotta carry all your stuff back to the hotel or your apartment, no houses near buy and Uber was a big help. It was a fun experience in my eyes. Efficiently displayed groceries on two or three floors. We arrived near 11pm and there we felt like we had the place to ourselves. Morton Williams is a good stop to get packaged goods or like a bottled drink and maybe even cold cuts. I wouldn't get the chicken cutlet sandwich again as it has no flavor and the chicken empanada I tried was okay (better places to get an empanada in the city). I shop in the Morton Williams on E. 48th St. it's a Neighbourhood grocery. Everyone is friendly and helpful. The manager Bob is respectful as anre everyone that works there; familiar faces make it my day with their smiles & go out of their way to help us. Some prices are really ,but there's always a sale and everything is fresh and they have the best salad bar in town for those days when you don't want to cook or when you get tempted, they have the best chicken sesame with fresh broccoli, I never got sick and I have a very delicate stomach. Really liked this two-story market with some delicious fresh fruit, a small salad bar, and paninis you can get warmed from the deli section. We stopped in a few times for drinks and to-go snacks for our hotel room right up the street at The Thompson. We had a turkey, spinach and cheese panini from here that was huge for $9 and was easily enough for two people, as well as a cucumber and tomato salad from the salad bar and some to-go fruit for dinner one night. What's not to like about this his grocery? It's clean, orderly, the produce is tended to constantly by the staff and it's not picked over. Prices are very reasonable despite it's the location being right in the heart of NYC right by the Park. Sushi packs, fresh made sandwiches & wraps for $8. Rotisserie chicken. Perfect pastries for $5, coffee desserts. That plus the normal deli stuff you need for area parties or picnic at the park. read more

Not terribly hungry for dinner, my small family grabbed dinner at this grocery story near the New York Hilton Midtown. It was perfect! We got berries, cantaloupe, sushi, slaw, and pickles. Possibly the worst run business of all time. The prices are always wrong at check out and the produce, meat, bread, and perishables are all old!!! The cashier told me it is too extensive to update the prices in their system so they recommend patrons to take pictures of the prices to make sure they are accurate! Talk about a bad business practice! This place needs a major management overhaul! I would stay far far away from this terrible excuse of a grocery store and instead head a little west to Whole Foods. 3.75 stars Morton Williams is a well stocked & well organized grocery store in midtown that's open 24/7. Prices are in line with other grocers in this area (read: not cheap, but you can actually get a good deal if you buy items from their weekly sale.) Plenty of prepared food options (sushi, deli, buffet) & I'm pleased with the selection at their bakery where I got Italian rainbow cookies & small cakes. No lines, store doesn't feel crowded because it's spacious, nice-enough cashiers. Not my top pick but I'd pop back in if I happen to be in the area & want snacks, baked goods, & fruit again. read more

This grocery store was a short walk down the block from our hotel. It's open 24 hours so if you need a sweet treat, there's no shortage of cakes, cookies, pies, and more right at front display when you walk into the store. I did try a piece of cake from there and it was moist but not spectacular. Our hotel had a mini fridge so it was convenient to pick up drinks, snacks, and breakfast items. There was a good selection of fruit and yogurt, and also alcohol. The packaged sandwiches were generous with the meat so one sandwich lasted two days for me. They also had a hot food area where you scooped what you like and are charged by weight. There's a coffee and tea area to help yourself but I never saw anyone buy one so not sure how fresh the coffee would be. The lines weren't long and we were often in and out quickly. read more

My Choir kids performed at Carnegie Hall today. After a busy few days in the BIG APPLE, we were pretty tired. When it came time for planning a lunch between our soundcheck rehearsal and the concert, I'm THRILLED that Mortin Williams was so HIGHLY suggested! Mike Dondiego went above and beyond to welcome us with a GREAT hot and cold buffet, complete with coffee, tea, soda, water, dessert and spacious upstairs seating. He even checked in on us to see if we needed anything and to inquire about our experience. CALL AHEAD (as we did, thanks to our travel agent) because MW wants to please, but there can always be a lot of surprise foot traffic due to their location. Bravo - I'll be back! read more

I came here today for their Hot/Cold Buffet at $8.49lb. I asked one of the staff members where I can get one of those containers. Damn, it was hidden on the sides of the buffet table...very convenient! I made two rounds on the hot buffet. Holy moly mmmm Grilled Steak not like other spots was they cut them up....at Morton's you get a whole one. I lined up by the cashiers till someone calls next. I was shocked that my food cost under $7 along with my whole Grilled Steak...mmmm come to mama *carnivore mode* haha. Spacious upstairs seating and leather chairs. They got fully stocked utensils if you forgot to grab from the buffet table and also a microwave. I love the Grilled Steak so flavorful but the Fish dishes were bland. Note: Avoid sitting at those two-seaters because it's right by the restrooms so you won't vomit from the smell unless you like the smell haha read more

Where do you go for groceries in the middle of midtown Manhattan, New York City? I had checked out this store when we were at West 57th street by Hilton in May 2016. Fast forward to today. We check in to our timeshare suite at the Manhattan Club at 3:45pm, unload all our luggage, and go out looking to stock our refrigerator with fruit juice, and milk. Walk two blocks and come to this store. Looks small on the outside, but it's actually two stories with escalator going downstairs to the windowless basement, where the groceries are. Very clean, well lighted, with helpful employees with a smile on their faces. 59 ounce Tropicana 100% orange juice high pulp, not from concentrate regularly $4.74 on sale for $3.00. We grab two of them, plus milk -one quart for $1.49, 18 ounces of cereal for $4.47. Apples at $3 a pound. The Tropicana is a great deal, the others pretty standard for NYC, but nowhere as pricey as Hawaii. Upstairs, rush hour commuters crowd the hot cooked food to go area. $8 a pound, including beef stew, pork ribs, rice, teriyaki chicken, Brussel sprouts, white fish with stuffed crab -real crab? No, way, otherwise the commuters would be tearing down the doors to get in! They even have a day of the week for food: Italian on Monday, Chinese on Tuesday, Mexican on Wednesday, Indian on Thursday and comfort food on Friday. We came here for dinner on Saturday, the day of our arrival, Monday and Tuesday. Wife balked at coming here a fourth time for dinner, saying that we could afford to eat out. Would come back here at least 3 times for groceries, 3 times for dinner, and 2 times for breakfast, on our last two days, when we ran out of cereal. For breakfast we had the omelets, hashed brown potatoes and sausage. One guy I saw took only cooked bacon -he was really getting his money worth at $8 a pound, and he was white and not Chinese! Came back once to get a sandwich to eat at the Met -could not find a meat sandwich without cheese, which was mostly cheese and little meat. Oh by the way if you came to this store and found a shortage of 59 ounce Tropicana 100% orange juice high pulp, it was because we drank six of these in six days! The New York restaurant scene took a big hit when I discovered this store, but recovered nicely once my wife got tired of the dinner food here! read more

This review is for the 57th St. store catering department. I worked with Mike. Communicating with him was easy. He made a some good suggestions ( as he's the party expert!). The food was beautifully plated and the portions were generous. (Actually, weirdly, it was all better than the pictures on the website. How often does that happen?) Honestly was in a bind to find something healthy super late at night after my DoorDash never delivered my order at all an hour late and thankfully this place was open 24/7. Was able to get some tasty food options that I could warm up at my hotel. Their bbq selection (I'm a bbq sauce connoisseur) leaves much to be desired, but considering it was essentially the only reasonably healthy option at 2am, can't really complain. Was able to get some empanadas (not bad, chicken ones are better than the beef IMO), some papaya and other mixed fruits - that were super fresh and tasty, and a Turkey Swiss wrap. I think my only complaint (other than the lack of bbq sauce) was they didn't have any chocolate milk (which seemed strange considering the fairly large dairy section). Overall would def revisit this spot if I was in midtown again and/or looking for a late night market for something healthy. read more

I like to buy some cooked meals here. The broccoli cheddar quiche was moist. Sometimes quiche is dry. This was particularly good. I like the chicken parmigiana with spaghetti meal. The brisket was also good but the side of veggies that came with it were vinegary so I won't buy that meal as a meal. They also sell Asher dark chocolate covered pretzels. Moron Williams is really great market place for shopping groceries. I lived many other places in New York. where I lived in New York, comparing for the other pricing Morton Williams is really great. The place looks very classy and pricey. It may scare you for pricing ,but it is not! They have a lot of brands and options for each budgets. I could spend very long hours in there. The Morton Williams store looks so clean and very nice kind cashiers. Whenever I couldn't find anything I asked the staff and they took me till the aisles and helped to fined it. There is another marketplace at 8th ave called Gristede's the people are not nice at all. When I asked anything they kept sending me one another. They don't know about locations of the items So, definitely I will keep shopping my groceries there read more

There's no customer scale at the 15 West End Ave. store, Manhattan. When I asked about weighing 2 packages of bread, I was told the person behind the food counter would help me at the scale that's much too high up for me to reach. But, although that person took the packages from me, she refused to weigh them at first; she just kept repeating repeating repeating the price! I can't be the only (educated) consumer who wants to weigh fruit and vegies plus compare the weight of packaged goods (yes! packaged stuff does weigh differently, even at outdoors farmers' markets). Why didn't this store install a customer scale? Why doesn't it? I've made such a suggestion many times to management. I don't understand the downside. read more

The prepared hot and cold foods department greatly work in the favor if you work/live nearby. The result for my visit was a very bland turkey and Jarlsberg cheese sandwich on 7 grain bread at $5.49 which was ICK. Avoid their sandwiches as Subway can achieve better focused quality results. As a former employee of Kate's Paperie at THIS space, I know the structural layout very well. The space now is very appealing structure look of the 2014 era that is nicely renovated with new elevators of three shopping floors, white tiled walls which is why compelled me to checkout the inside. It is completely unrecognizable from my time when Kate's Paperie was the former tenant. Checkout area appears very cramped in the front where cashiers are stolid without a simple smile. I requested a receipt which was making the woman do extra work and sigh loudly in grief. Many cashiers appear disgruntled to be only present in filling the void of the day without motivation. They do not have an invigorating aromatic cheese department unlike the nearby vicinity Columbus Circle's Whole Foods do. This Morton Williams is extremely overpriced but- hey this is Midtown West on 57th Street (between 5th and 6th Avenues) so it is expected. read more

Clean and well-lighted. A bit pricey, but you're on 57th St in Manhattan, not the wrong side of Dearborn, Michigan, so what do you expect? Pretty good selection, a little bit (okay a lot) nicer than my usual Gristedes on 8th Ave, but the cashiers here are not as friendly. They're not mean, just not outgoing like the ones at Gristedes. Also, if you're purchasing more than five items, the check out pods are useless because they have no space to put more than one bag of groceries so trying to juggle your wallet while you're holding the bags (literally) is a problem. It's clean and convenient, so I'll probably go here more often because their produce is much better than Gristedes. read more

This was GREAT when D'Agostinos years ago. Now it is THE WORST in this neighborhood. The 'female' manager is '?' very uncaring about any problems that have ocurred, and is just a ____, when asked for ANY assistance. The SUSHI here is THE BEST better than even any Japanese places nearby. Shopping here for decades, I was recently stopped and had my bag 'inspected' and I was happily compliant, the 'female' manager could not have been ny less caring. I understand all to well the need for stopping ship lifters, BUT at least an ; 'Ok thank you for your compliance' would have been HUMAN !, that manager was not saying anything, other than; 'OK' the worker that inspected my bag from TRADER JOE'S was greatly respectful, and very understanding. Littler wonder why there are so few customers at this long standing store that was D'Agostino for decades. The cashiers are EXCELLENT at their work, BUT, ????? I am a senior, and do not walk well, this manager had absolutely NO understanding of what was happening with me, nor cared in any way, her understanding of this situation was -0- . Littke wonder why so many of my fellow shoppers wonder 'why is this place so empty' --- Being treated as a criminal without any exonerated outcome, and/or a thank you for compliants SUCKS, and I do hope this 'manager' will get exactly what she deserves in her future 'stop and searches' for herself, and reacts as comfortably as I did ? !!!! So glad this place was close to our hotel! For most of our stay we came here for breakfast. We grabbed a few pastries and some eggs and sausage the last day. The pastries were more expensive than I'd usually pay but everything seems to be more expensive in NY. There were also refrigerated/cold items and a hot bar. There was a deli section, and by there you could have your pastries and breads toasted. The cashiers were friendly and pointed out how there's seating upstairs. We were just always on the go so we didn't need to sit for long. Pretty nice place to stop by for a quick bite! read more
