I called and made an appointment for mani/pedis for myself and MOH for the day before my wedding (apt on 9/13). Drove an hour from where we were staying in Big Sur to the salon. We were stuck behind a slow vehicle on the 1, running 5 mins behind, so I called multiple times to apologize and confirm that we were still coming (no response, left a voicemail). We get there and see a sign on the door saying they were "closed that day, sorry for the inconvenience". I never got a call or message canceling my appointment - no one even called me back to apologize after receiving my voicemail. In the end, I was left to call multiple nearby salons and try to scramble to at least get a last minute manicure for myself... Did not need that on the day before my wedding. Very unprofessional and unreliable, I strongly caution others against booking here for a special occasion. read more

I called ahead for an appointment and they told me to come in around 1:15. So I showed up at 1:15 and I was waiting for 20 mins before a guy approached me and asked me to wait 5 more mins. Then another lady walks in and the guy approached me again and said I had to wait another 5 more mins. So those 10 mins turned into another 20 mins which totaled 40 mins of waiting around. The 3 stars was because the lady who did my nails didn't do a bad job besides the fact that the nail polish was applied unevenly. read more

My friend and I made reservations for 2:00 and arrived right on time. The staff were all working on clients and they turned and looked at us, but no one said a word. So we sat down on the two waiting chairs - still no recognition - and waited for 15 minutes. Then the manager finished up with a manicure, went into the back room, finally came out and pointed (no words again) at two empty chairs on the end. We sat down and put our feet into the basins, but the manger went to work on someone else and never spoke to us. She didn't even fill the basins with water and turn on the jets. And so we sat there...for another 15 minutes. The staff continued to work on other clients, never acknowledged us, never said a word. Finally, we were fed up with the inconsiderate behavior and left. I got a token "I'm sorry, sir" as I walked out. Overall, the way we were treated was terrible and we couldn't help but feel they simply didn't want our business. And it wasn't a "language barrier." I've been to many salons for pedicures. I understand that English is usually not the first language of staff and it's fine with me...it's never been a problem and I've always been treated like a valued customer. But not Morro Nails. My nail technician was the sweetest woman ever. She made sure I was comfortable the whole time and was both friendly and professional. It was incredibly busy so if you walk in with no appt, prepare to wait for 15-25 minutes. The equipment is on the older side but does not affect the service at all. My nails look amazing ... way better than any other place in SLO I've been to. They do not serve beverages during your service. I paid I think $35 (might be a few dollars more, don't really remember) for a mani/pedi combo. Well worth the money, found my new go-to for nails! read more

If I could rate this place with zero stars, I would. Not only was I kept waiting or 45 min after my nail appointment was supposed to start, they were not gentle at all, and made my cuticle bleed. Then I had to explain several times how I wanted my nails painted only to have them not done how I like. They were cut way too short, an the paint job was half assed. While the nail artist (artist used as loosely as possible) was filing my nails to round them out, and I had to ask three times before he rounded them out, he somehow managed to tear my nail from the nail bed and cut my finger. I didn't think much of it, since I've been cut at nail salons before, but now three weeks later, my nail I still screwed up. It is scaly and burns. I will never ever ever return to this place and will be filing a complaint with the health department. My recommendation, spend the extra few dollars and go to a salon in Slo. read more

visited Morro Nail today (8-13-16) for first time. my manicure was a total time of 15 minutes. would have been 13 minutes, but I needed to note rough, unfiled nails, hang nails, and one- half of thumb that received no polish. no oil for cuticles either. finally, the gentleman seated me at the uv light and never turned it on. the service I received was insulting and unacceptable. I live in Los Osos and will continue to drive into SLO's Happy Nail on Higuera. Sorry folks, my money is hard to get. read more

I've been here a number of times and over the past couple of years the wait has grown tremendously. They don't seem to care if you have an appointment - in fact it seems like its a waste of time to do so because you will still wait. Last time I walked out because they told me it would be 45 minutes and I had an appointment! I went back today because I hoped that was an anomaly. It wasn't. Today's wait was for 30 minutes after the appointment time and then another 25 in between the manicure and pedicure. 2 hours from entering the door to leaving for a mani-pedi is ridiculous. I usually love coming to this location because the other one in town is super mediocre. However, I went today for a pedicure and manicure and the lady seemed irritated that I was even there. My pedicure turned out good but when she went to do my manicure she rushed through the entire thing. This was a great experience! I made pedicure appointments for my wife, sister and myself. Upon arriving, we were greeted and asked to pick out nail colors for the gals. We waited about 5 min and then they escorted us to three pedi chairs and started our feet soaking while they finished up other clients. Phan did my feet. We stay in Cambria every August to get out of the Tucson heat...I had to look beyond Cambria to find a nail salon that did the deep powder...Morro Bay is the closest I could get an appointment and I was so happy with them...The women there are very nice and accommodating. This was my first pedicure here. Phong gave the best foot massage! The place is quiet with soft music, very clean, and chairs in good condition. Manicure is $14 and pedicure is $23 or $35 for both. Nope. Won't be back. The whole point of having an appointment is so that when I arrive, I don't have to wait 10 to 15 minutes for somebody to take care of me. I was in a hurry, I had somewhere to go, and I didn't appreciate having to cut my manicure short because I had very little time for the promised service. And, really, ladies, it's so obvious you're speaking negatively about your clients while you smile those saccharin grins. Learn some professionalism, and be silent. read more

The staff is incredibly warm...always asking to see pictures of my kids etc. I usually come for pedicures but sometimes manicures as well. The guy doing my nails was in hurry up mode and for a gel manicure, with no gel on my current nails, this guy sanded down the top nail bed of my nails. As a result, and as expected, as the nails grow out, they chip and get ragged on the edges. I keep filing them, as they grow out, since our March 7 12:30 visit. I won't be able to get another manicure until they have 100% grown out. He was rough too. He did a worse job even on my friend.. we were roadtripl vacationing on the mid PCH. She had gel already on her nails, and she was kept waiting to soak it the entire time my nails were being done. It was not busy. Obviously the locals know this place is not a place to visit. It is a commodity business yes, but it's also a service and repeat business based on customers. Do NOT go here. It will not be a good experience. My girlfriend got the gels and a pedi for $53. The did a good job. I got the mani/pedi package for $35. They added $5 to buff my toenails, and tried to charge another $5 to do my fingernails. Usually, since I don't need paint, the buff is included. A slight communication issue throughout, but never truly became an issue. Happy overall. Would have been 5 stars except for the wait time after having made an appointment and for my not having confirmed all pricing before we began. I was amazed by this place. It was busy so I'd definitely make an appointment (I did and it really paid off) I got an acrylic fill and a pedicure with Thai. He far exceeded my expectations. He knew immediately that the nails I had were too thick and took the time to fix them. I won't even give this place a 1 star review because I got my nails done Friday and on Friday evening they were chipped already , I was so disappointed because I was going to a party and they were messed up . When the nails chipped the whole nail polish came off in the shape of my nail. I went in on Sunday and they were rude to me . But , they painted my nails again for free. The nail polish was very old and half way used. The selection was small and not very good. The nail polish was cheap and they do not paint the fingernails very well. On one of my nails they only did half of it and so I asked them to paint that nail again. I will never go back to get my nails done again. read more

My first time going to Morro Nails. I got a manicure and pedicure. They did a good job and are friendly. When I went to pay with my credit card, they said that they don't accept credit cards. Their web site states that they do accept credit cards. There was a sign saying that they don't accept checks, but no sign about not accepting credit cards. read more
