This is probably my favorite jianbing I've tried so far. I appreciate how many different types of fillings they have. They have a couple vegetarian options which is great! I ordered the fried tofu classic series, which was the first time I've ever had a fried tofu inside a jianbing. The outer layer was more crepe than egg, in comparison to other jianbing I've tried before. But I didn't mind it (and actually enjoyed!). The sauce inside is so flavorful and delicious! The classic was a perfect portion for me, but they also have signature and loaded options if you're really hungry. They also welcome personalizations, as they were willing to accomodate my request of no cilantro and zhacai (Chinese pickled mustard plant stem). The mild spice was perfect and really not spicy at all - I would probably try medium next time. While food trucks can be hit or miss sometimes, this one did not disappoint. The wait for the food was a little long, but it was worth the wait because the food was delicious. The prices are also decent for a food truck. I highly recommend trying this!

Midtown Beer Garden delivers some delicious, authentic Chinese food and Stretch the Noodle is…read moredefinitely another food cart I'd highly recommend for their beef noodle soup. As their name denotes, their noodles are hand-pulled. While their menu is limited, this just means that they can focus their efforts on creating quality dishes. For only $14, the beef noodle soup is quite reasonably priced, and actually a full meal. I've had an experience with a food cart in the past where the portion size did not reflect the price point, but not here. The beef noodle soup here is on par at what you'd get at a sit-down restaurant. It's packed with tender beef, plenty of noodles, veggies, and a piping hot broth. Chili oil was unnecessary, as it already came with some on top. The broth itself was clear, yet still had the correct spices that beef noodle soup is known for. This food cart was pretty popular. Other patrons were ordering some of the dry noodle dishes such as the noodle salad or dan dan noodles. Everything from their kitchen looked so good, but as a soup kinda gal, I'm glad I ultimately went with the beef noodle soup. While I cannot speak for the flavor profiles of the other dishes Stretch the Noodle has to offer, from my experience enjoying the beef noodle soup, it's safe to say that I was very happy with my lunch and would love to return to this food cart the next time we visit PDX. Additionally, as I try to be eco-conscious, my food was served in a reusable container, which I saved after devouring my meal and washed instead of throwing it out.

I ordered the Biang Biang noodles for myself and requested mild spice. I love that you get to customize the spiciness because I was a little worried the chili oil noodles would be too spicy. The hand-stretched noodles have the best texture and the flavor was indescribable, honestly. One order was almost 3 meals for me (I don't eat big lunches) and the quality was unmatched. It's only been a week since I went to the cart and I've been craving it again ever since. I didn't even take a picture of my meal, I just dove in. The smell was just too tantalizing. My only complaint is that the hours make it difficult to get over there, but if I plan it right I can make it work and the food is well worth the effort.

I went with their recommendation and ordered the No. 1 Chicken Shawarma Wrap, and it was fantastic. The shawarma itself was juicy and packed with flavor, and it balanced really nicely against the fresh vegetables and the tanginess from the pickles. The fluffy garlic sauce inside is airy, garlicky, and almost feels whipped, but the pro move is definitely to ask for extra along with some of their house made hot sauce on the side. Everything is wrapped and griddled to toasty perfection, making it an ideal compact grab-and-go lunch, or a great meal to enjoy more leisurely at one of the shaded picnic tables. One thing to note is that the orders do take a bit of time, so it is not the best option if you are in a rush. That said, it is absolutely worth it if you have a little time and patience, so just grab a brew, relax, and enjoy the weather while you wait.

Although it is still new and not all the spaces are filled yet, it seems like it will be a great place to dine there on nice weather days. I had already tried their bingsu food cart. This time I tried the Shawarma House. There are about 3 food carts that serve similar or the same food. I had the triple meat plate. It consisted of lamb, chicken and beef. It came with pita bread and hummus and tzatziki sauce. The sauce that drizzled on top was good but I couldn't quite tell what it was. The lamb meat was by far the best. The chicken and beef was okayed. Hummus and tzatziki serving was large. I wish I had more pita bread so I didn't have to waste the dipping. There was a good amount of rice under the meat. The plate was good overall but there was not enough sauce drizzled on the top. As a result, everything seemed dry.

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, even without libations. Lemongrass chicken with sticky rice, wide rice noodles with chicken, and sweet potato fries! made for a lovely meal. Because it's coming from a food truck, you don't get the fancier plating and presentation that a sit down restaurant provides, but nothing detracted from the flavor. The buzzer worked fine for notifying us of pickup time, so everything arrived hot and fresh. It's nice to have a quality Thai cart pod option in the neighborhood. My only advisory concerns parking - the large parking lot next door is, understandably, not for pod customers, and this stretch of SE Division is too narrow to allow for much street parking, so expect to accumulate a few steps when you visit.

Unfortunately, I came away pretty disappointed. Everything except the pork belly was actually really good. The rice had a good texture and separate grains. The fried egg was crispy and had a nice runny yolk. The cucumbers had a nice thickness and crunch to them (could been colder though). The prik nam pla (fish sauce, chiles, maybe a little lime?) was really great -- something about the flavor really popped for me and was tasty. And everything was served hot and fresh. But the pork belly sucked, and that kinda ruined the dish for me. The fatty parts weren't melt-in-your-mouth at all. They were just chewy. The skin wasn't crispy, it also was chewy. The meaty parts weren't juicy at all, they were tough. I dunno, everything about it seemed wrong. And getting the pork belly right seems like a crucial part of the overall dish. After eating maybe 1/3 of the pieces of pork belly, hoping each time that the bad pieces were just outliers, I gave up and just pushed the rest of them to the side while I ate the rest of the dish. Oh well.

The culinary experience was truly remarkable, and the customer service was exceptional. The restaurant's location is also highly favorable, contributing to its overall appeal. As a Jamaican who grew up in the Miami neighborhood known as "Little Haiti," I have had ample exposure to Haitian cuisine, particularly griot. My childhood memories include saving my allowance to purchase griot from a Haitian lady's house on Fridays, with the assistance of a neighbor who spoke her language. My first taste of griot occurred when I was 11 years old. I felt compelled to share this background information to establish my credentials in assessing the quality of Haitian cuisine. Tap Tap Cuisine proved to be an exceptional gem in this regard. Plus, my 2 friends who accompanied me are of Haitian background. We all gave it a 10 out of 10! In all areas.
