Morris & Mae Market is a hidden gem in the Morrison area - much like other food collaboratives, you can choose from a variety of options: poke, Mexican, mac and cheese, Italian, smoothies and acai bowls, sweet treats like gelato and cupcakes and a good sized bar right in the middle. Other cool features include lots of WFH options and large spaces if you have a group and want to do an easy peasy, every one is happy dining option. The space has a really cool vibe, with lots of greenery, comfy seating options and even a small grocery market for snacks. We grabbed mac and cheese (Mac Nation Cafe) along with a burger and wings (Alpine House) and sat at the bar (Alpine House). The gentleman behind the bar was fantastic, attentive and had great banter. It was a great choice - I'd say for any day of the week. We didn't have room for dessert but I've still got my eye on the gelato and cupcakes (Goldmine Sweets and Espresso)! read more

A fun little food market in a convenient location to the mountains/highway! They seem to have lots of activities and they do have many food options. I got a tuna poke bowl that was pretty good and reasonably priced. Two others got the burrito bowls and enjoyed them. The guac from the Mexican place was the biggest disappointment. I had been here once and wanted to bring my daughter for lunch. We really liked it. There is a variety of restaurants to choose from with a centralized bar for beverages. There is plenty of seating and they have the big garage doors that open out to their patio area. Lots of light coming in all the windows. First we did a lap to see all the menus so we could decide where we wanted to eat. I went for Prosciutto Formaggio Piada from Paisan. It is a wrap with Prosciutto, pancetta, stracciatella cheese, tomato and arugula. Delicious and refreshing. My daughter had the Arkansas mac from Mac Nation. It had pulled pork, ham and bacon on a bed of macaroni and cheese. She is a mac & cheese fan and really enjoyed this dish. This food hall is located on the ground floor below Aurum apartments. I know the nearest grocery store is a ways, so it is nice that the food hall has some dry goods and fresh odds and ends that one might need in a pinch. There are also offices for rent on the same floor. Conference rooms and single offices that one could use. It has an overall homey feel to it and a place that works for modern lives. read more

I really love places like this. Plain and simple. It's not a new concept, but the Greater Denver Area is boasting some serious competition with their food halls. Morris & Mae Market in Golden (just off I-70) opened back in December and has hit the ground running. A nice selection of food stalls, a centralized bar, stadium seating, free wifi and market goods from local Colorado brands for sale. You can tell there's thought and intention here. Pretty much every time walks in, a staff member will welcome them and say hello. It's the little things, ya know? The current lineup of businesses is as follows: Paisan: Fresh Italian La Rosita: Street Tacos Mac Nation Cafe: Mac & Cheese Kiki's Fresh Bowls: Poke, Acai and Smoothies Alpine House: Breakfast and Elevated Bar Fare Goldmine Sweets & Espresso: Cupcakes, Gelato and Espresso All of these businesses are locally owned and operated, too. Mac Nation and Paisan are my two current faves. However I love that Goldmine is here slinging coffee, because it's the perfect place to cowork in the mornings and afternoons. Lots of open space, tables, and not super crowded (yet). The owner of the market, Jen Thoemke, is doing incredible things for the Golden community. She owns a few other businesses in the area (including the coworking space next door, as well as Goldmine in the food hall). And on International Women's Day, we should be celebrating all the awesome women making our communities brighter. Even Beki, the GM of Morris & Mae, is a powerhouse and industry pro! A lot of amazing things on the horizon for Morris & Mae. Once we get out of these cold winter months this place will be the talk of the town. Great food hall! It's well laid out, comfortable to move in and around and find just what you might be looking for. Doesn't hurt it's in a great location -- on the way in to, or from, the mountains. We attended an event that let us sample food & drinks from the restaurants and bar. It is a fun fun place. Lots of choices. We started with Mac Nation's macaroni and cheese offerings: Arkansas (bbq pork,etc) and I had the Castroville (tomatoes and artichoke hearts). Yum. We then sampled smoothies from Kiki's; some Blackened Shrimp and Chicken Tinga from La Rosita's; then on to a bit of Caprese Salad and a Pesto Genovese Bake from Paisan. Moved on to the Alpine House's Scree Chicken and Broiled Brussel Sprouts. We ended it all with a bit of Lemon Gelato and cookie from the Gold Mine. Wow. Every bite we sampled was terrific. I foresee many a "stop on the way into" or "stop on the way out of" Red Rocks, or many other destinations in our beloved Rocky Mountains. Can't wait to get back! read more

This market is super cute and ideal for when you can't decide on where you want to eat. The market has a bar in the middle and tons of eateries - you scan the QR on your table and get a text when your food is ready. I wish I had taken pictures of our drinks and ice cream, but my boyfriend and I ordered: - Strawberry Smash drink - Peach mocktail - Chopped Salad - Pretzel with cheese - S'mores + Vanilla peanut butter malt ice cream Everything was so flavorful. 100% I enjoyed every single thing I had here. Disappointing all around and a distant third food hall choice behind Edgewater and Golden Mill. Poke bowl place was glacially slow despite it not being super busy. Took about 30 minutes. The bowl itself had strange flavors going on--was not a fan of the salty/spicy topping which overwhelmed everything else. My kids love Mac n cheese but would not eat the stuff from Mac Nation (we got two kids' orders). This was not a kid friendly dish--spirals with a pasty cheese sauce. I brought it home and fed both orders to the dog. Normally we like gold mine cupcakes but they didn't have any dairy free options for my wife so just got them for the kids. It looks like this has been the trend these days? A food court with various different vendors all put and mashed together has been popping up all over in the Denver Metro area lately. And today, I had the pleasure of visiting Morris & Mae Market during the off peak lunch hour. It's a bit way out in Golden from my DTC neighborhood but this food court was a much needed one in this foothill city (Aurora has two, Denver has at least two.) Oh way, there is a small food court in downtown Golden which I completely forgot about until now! I wanted to get something from a few different restaurants but I couldn't (I simply wasn't that hungry at the time of the visit.) After having a hard time which vendor to get food from, I chose Paisan, an Italian cuisine. What I got was a pesto pasta bake as a to-go (by the way, I ate it as soon as I got home and this was a really good dish. It tasted a bit smoky although there was no meat in it. And the pine nuts on top was the magic ingredient.) You'll definitely find something that appeals to your palate as there is a taco place, coffee and muffin place, poke place and mac 'n cheese place to name several. The centralized bar is a good size and looked so welcoming/inviting. There is also a mini market right by the bar where you can grab some basic groceries. The design and layout of the entire food court is pretty intriguing (there is a staircase to the right where there are pillows. You can sit there and eat your food casually. Reminded me of the Piazza di Spagna (Spanish Steps) in Rome; so cute!!) read more

I only knew of Morris and Mae thanks to Yelp with a fabulous Elite event in 2023. Fast forward a year later when some friends and I were in need of a place to eat after a hike in Morrison. I instantly remember this gem and it was the perfect spot for us....poke, tacos, Italian, mac and cheese and sandwiches plus craft beer from local breweries, this place has something for everyone! Parking was ample during the day and it had a good crowd but no lines for the stalls. Staff is super friendly and floats around from stall to stall plus they have a lot of seating and then I found out, fun events throughout the month. I am excited to return here when they have their real opening to try the full menus. The location is a bit odd tucked back in this new development that seems to be off on its own, but it was convenient for our route that day, and glad we stopped! It seemed like a slow night in terms of other customers but everyone was attentive and super friendly. We shared food from two different stalls, everything was tasty, quick, and a good value. Love the food hall concept with the bar in the middle. You can order at whichever counter or scan the bar code from where you're seating. With so many choices there's something for everything here! My boyfriend had Buffalo mac and cheese from Mac nation. It was rich and flavorful. He enjoyed it. I decided on a poke bowl from Kikis. It tasted very fresh and was a good portion. I will say it was a bit pricey in my opinion. With a tip it was $19 and some change for the 1 bowl. We sat at the bar and there's a great beer selection. Bartenders are friendly. They let you have 2 free beer samples and after that you can opt for a flight. If you're in the area it's a cool spot! read more

Gary and I had a great time at Morris and Mae. We were staying at the Red Rocks Origin hotel and stumbled upon this food market on our walk. It happened to be Mardi Gras so there was live music too. We tried the Mac Nation and the New Orleans dish was the winner. It had good spice and the sausage was so good with the cheesy mac. These dishes are huge so you will have leftovers or to share. I do work next door but have no actual affiliation with this place. I LOVE M&M Market. They have $5 mimosas ALL DAY and the food is phenomenal. Their liquor is always local and so is their beer. Love this new hidden spot (though I have a feeling it won't be hidden for long once word gets out)! Morris & Mae is a cool new indoor food market that only has local businesses and sells local products (such as Little Man Ice Cream pints and Rocky Mountain Soda) - I love it! The Golden Mill is a similar concept but I'd say has more of a bar feel versus this one which has more of an emphasis on food. Personally the food options at Morris & Mae speak to me more - especially love MacNation and Kiki Bowls! The only thing is that currently the seating options in here are a little limited, but hopefully once the weather warms up they will have outdoor seating! I love that they use compostable items like plates, bamboo utensils, etc - just have to get a compost bin to make it even more eco friendly :) read more

Stopped in with my 3 kids after a day at Dinosaur Ridge and Red Rocks. Every parent knows it's next to impossible to go somewhere everyone likes but this food hall made it so easy! There's multiple delicious restaurants and everything can be ordered straight from your phone. There's even a bar in the center if you're feeling like a beverage. Very relaxed atmosphere. Look what moved to my side of town! A very much needed new venue of multiple food outlets. This place has it all. From Italian to ice cream. From stair-step seating to comfy couches. It has a great centerpiece bar with several different food styles. It's multi level, and in a beautiful, setting near the old Heritage Square. I actually feel bad because I hardly took any photos. Cool food hall with a cozy bar and good ambiance. Unfortunately the food is only mediocre. Live music and events like comedy night bump this place up a peg. There are 6 food vendors serving Mac n cheese, coffee and cupcakes, poke bowls, wraps, tacos, and small veggieless entrees. The macaroni place has a ton of options like pulled pork, chicken, bacon, buffalo, ranch etc., and the portions are huge, but the mac itself is a little bland and the way it's quickly heated sometimes leaves it cold in the middle. The taco place is ok. Tacos were fine but the bowls or soup are better. Haven't tried the rest yet, but my wife liked the poke bowl. The bar has all Colorado beer & liquor. 16 taps, excellent specialty cocktails, and very friendly service. So the food is just okay but the rest is great. read more

Food hall spot right by Red Rocks! Great option for meeting up with friends before the show/parking lot festivities! There's a bar in the middle when you walk in and you can either sit there, or just order from there and find another option for seating. There's tables, high tops, staircase seating area, also outside seating when weather is good! If you sit at the bar, you can order food from the vendors via the QR code on the bar tops or you can just walk over to them and order. Bartender was super friendly and the drinks were great! SO HAPPY to see Mac Nation here - I've talked this spot up (the OG Indian Hills spot) to my boyfriend for years and we just haven't had a time to make it up there together, so this was a blessing! This is my 3rd visit. I work in Wheatridge, but most Fridays I go home. I chose to come out to Morris & Mae since it's been almost 8 months since I was last here. The vibe is still good. A friendly staff and entertaining patrons. I started with the Mauna Loa Lava Poke bowl from Kiki's Fresh Bowls. Very fresh Yellowfin Ahi tuna with avocado, seaweed, English cucumbers, Taki crumbles & Chili threads (very spicy) on a bed of mixed greens & sweet Maui onions. A wonderful start. I wanted a State 38 distilling cocktail but it's no longer on the menu. So I chose a new fall cocktail. It's their version of a Manhattan with maple syrup in a martini glass. A nice drink. Tara was a great bartender. Next, I ordered a standard Mac & Cheese from Mac Nation Cafe. A large portion. I ate a little bit and took it home. I also ordered an order of Buffalo chicken tenders from Apex Eatery + a side of Green Chili. I paired all this additional food with another fall cocktail, the Orange Wildflower made with Wildflower infused Peach Street Silver rum with raw sugar, vanilla bean syrup, lime juice & bitters. A great drink. Goes well with spicy food. Of course I needed dessert. So I got 2 dips of raspberry chocolate chip gelato from Gold Mine Sweets + Expresso. Smooth and creamy. They have updated signage at each vendor. Be aware, I tried to order via the QR code at the bar, but my bank locked my debit card for possible fraud. I can see how this place would be great to go when you have children. It has multiple options for picky eaters and the adults can grab a drink. I have a kid, so I'm not knocking on children being there. But it gets loud and over ran with all ages of children when I've been there. I've even seen kids there 12ish age range with no parents in the building ( at the brewery across the st.) It's just a weird vibe sometimes because there's a bar in the middle of the place and kids screaming all around you. The food and drinks that I've had were good. read more

How is this place not crowded all the time? I visited Golden and stayed at Origins Red Rocks in January 2023. I took a very short walkover to Morris & Mae (for dinner) and loved all the variety in their food hall with a central bar in the middle. My favorite was Kiki's fresh bowl. The Molokini chicken bowl there with edamame is so delicious, satisfying and relatively healthy! The combination of soy, heat and crunch is addicting. I seriously ordered it for dinner two nights! Friendly service and yummy eats in a spacious modern interior. Gold Mine had some delicious gelato options and Not too stuffy, not too formal, perfect really for any occasion. I wish there were more like this when I travel for business. Great to grab a bite solo or with friends or family. We also like the Mac Nation and La Rosita too! The bar had a good variety of wine and beer as well as cocktails. On the second night I ordered a burrito bowl for my husband, chips and queso and a Kiki bowl for myself. While waiting for my food, I had a glass of wine. The food staff were nice enough to walk my takeout order to me at the bar. Now that's service! Something for everyone and enjoy a beer or glass of wine while you wait! If you're at the Origins Red Rocks, this is a FANTASTIC option. Wish I took a pic before scarfing down a couple of birria tacos and steak tacos! I was passing through and, as always, wondering if there were amazing tacos lurking about that I had yet to discover. I came across Morris & Mae and placed an order for pickup. The birria tacos were different from the usual. MUCH more cheesy and absolutely delightful. The steak tacos... so packed with flavor! Definitely not road food, but I gladly pulled over to be able to fully enjoy them without crashing or ruining my clothes. Saving this place as a go-to for future taco runs. read more
