    Super cute coffee shop
    Jay K.

OK WOWWW! Had to stop in Morrison and found this cute little coffee shop. Homemade pastries, breakfast and delicious coffee! The cinnamon roll was one of the best cinnamon rolls I have ever had and the warm sausage breakfast burrito absolutely delicious! The owner is doing it right here! Super comfy old town vibes, when we stopped in today looked like a few locals at the coffee bar and such warm vibes and friendly service! RECOMMEND YOU STOP BY

Now called Lynn's Whistle Stop. This place oozes cuteness all the way to the bathroom. The proprietor makes ALL the food and brings it in since there's no kitchen here. The food's pretty tasty but most importantly, served with a smile by two very convivial young gentlemen. They also display local artisan's ware for sale. Looking forward to the addition of a kitchen in the future.

a table with a cup of coffee on it

Fun seasonal coffees, friendly staff and a perfect weather on the dog friendly patio. This is a great spot to drop in for a quick coffee with pastry and local handmade burritos.

Permanently closed, now called "Lynn's Whistle Stop" . We used to really like their lattes. It was also a nice place to meet a small group

Sweetest little coffee and sandwich shop. Friendly staff and nestled right by a hiking path. Couldn't recommend more!

Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and kindly answered our questions about various dishes. Food came out fast, and several staff members passed by to ask us how everything was tasting. I started off with a strawberry lemonade and it was incredibly refreshing on a hot day. The charcuterie was delicious and we enjoyed every bit of it. Fruits were sweet and the pickled vegetables were especially good. Grilled cheese and tomato soup were very good, although I've had better elsewhere - Beechers in Seattle and tomato soup in Iceland, but I know that's not a fair comparison. For dessert, we ordered bread pudding, it was yummy and the perfect end to our meal. The ambience was nice and not too loud inside. Wish I was local, so I can dine here more often. Online, you can enter the number in your party, and enter the virtual queue, which we did. Our table for four was ready when we arrived, and we were seated right away. Our server was great, good energy, and made multiple recommendations on the menu, including what may have recently changed, or been updated, on the menu. He highly recommended the strawberry margarita, noted that it wasn't sweet, and that they make all of their syrups, flavoring etc. in house, and this was a standout newer addition. He was right - it was delicious, refreshing for a hot summer day, and best of all, not overly sweet. For dinner, I had the filet, which came with a generous portion of super creamy, delicious mashed potatoes, asparagus, and the most wonderfully flavorful au jus. My steak was perfectly cooked the way I like it (medium rare). The dessert, a 'creme brûlée' was not at all your typical creme brûlée, and honestly, for me, fell a bit flat. I think it was made with some type of goat cheese, didn't have the lovely custardy/smooth consistency, volume, or depth. The fresh fruit on top was nice, but I only had a bite or so of this dessert we shared. Maybe call it something else, or alternatively, make sure when people order it they know it's non-traditional creme brûlée. Otherwise, wonderful meal, with great friends and we will absolutely be back!

We started with drinks; Mantanuska Moose and Summer Soltice. My friend, who is definitely qualified as persnickety, wasn't fond of the blackberry remnants clogging up the straw but slurped it down with no other complaints. My Summer Solitice was refreshing and came in a cute glass. It has been scientifically proven cute glassware improves the taste of a drink. I ordered the Wasilla Winter Berry Salad. I swapped out the raspberry jalapeño vinegarette for Bleu cheese dressing. Ordering this salad was in the top 20 good decisions in my life. The walnuts are divinely candied with cinnamon, the sweetness duelled with pickled cherry sweetness, while the goat cheese tossed in a few punches with its cranberry creaminess. I stole a couple fries from my friend and was underwhelmed by their bland taste and under the armpit warmth. If I were to review the burger from my friend's over all reaction of shoulder shrugging, I'd say it was okay. The atmosphere had a catching lunch with the work crowd vibe. 4 out 5 stars.

Now. Alaskan cuisine was a new one for me, but I was excited to try. We started our journey with some huckleberry old fashioneds. I love huckleberry and will always get it if available and this did not lead me astray. We started with crab dip which was a hit even with our baby. For the mains, my husband got the meatloaf platter and was obsessed. I had their specialty burger (a mix of beef and elk) that included arugula, goat cheese, jam and some onions - also top notch. To finish things off we got chocolate raspberry cheesecake and... Wow. Delectable. If it's not obvious, the food here is epic and I love the concept and theme. Will happily return next time we're in the area. That cheesecake though....

From the outside it looks like a small local bar, but once you get inside you realize it's a HUGE meeting place. They have pool tables ($1 a game), video games and a big, long bar with lots of TVs within easy view. This would be a great place to come alone or with friends to watch sports. (Especially if you're a Nebraska football fan.) But sports isn't the only reason to check out this place. We ordered the BYO (Build Your Own) burgers from their new menu. They were juicy and delicious. I got mine with some pulled pork which was also very good. Our server, Paul J. was super helpful because we told him it was our first time there. Our food came quickly and Paul was attentive with our drinks. The place also has a nice homey feel to it. The name "Lucky Mutt" hints of a dog theme and the walls are covered with pictures of people's pets. The manager collects pictures of dogs that patrons email him. Then he prints them off and frames them for the walls. It's a wonderfully nice touch to make this place even more comfortable. If you're craving some good food or looking for a selections of beers to try while you watch the game. Check this place out.
