Hot Kipper and Toffee Coffee
Rosemary S.

Highly recommend their coffee and mini donuts!! The best little find this morning! We ordered a kipper (oat milk, maple syrup latte) and a cold brew (Toffee Coffee) and they were both on point! We also got a dozen mini glazed donuts (chocolate and strawberry) and they were also delicious! The girls working were so friendly and we got our food quickly.

Most of what comes from my mind and reaches my outbound mouth has no filter - I'm sure we've all slipped a "oopsie" here and there - the most shocking looks I've gotten seem to all stem from my saying " I'm really not much of a sweet tooth" - and - that "I don't enjoy ice cream". I'm not a psudo anti sweetie, just more of a cookie and muffin guy - with coffee. Doughnut batter cooked in concentrated apple cider - how has such a delicious creation evaded my baked goodie radar? You can keep your cakes with icing and frostings and crullers with hot sticky toppings. When it's time for a little something special, I'll be thinking doughnuts, and not the sprinkled - jelly filled type, it's the microplane ingredients of simplicity and harmony and traditions of flour and sugar and perhaps nutmeg and dark brown sugar. I'm watching the activity of swift hands meeting precision timing - the swirling and mixing to the finishing of crunchy granulated sugar - upon the buttery brown - soft and moist perfectly baked batter. The quality classic American baking and frying ingredients are on full flavor tilt. Laying lightly upon my tongue - not too hot as I lift the lid of a Carmel Apple Butter Latte - close my eyes and face the mornings sun, hesitating slightly, preparing for that first sip of my day be and of my life - it's a moment I'll not soon forget.

Everyone who knows me know my deep love of two things: moose and coffee. Both together? And local? The owners and the coffee they serve (Coffee By Design). On a sunny autumn morning? The best! Seriously, what's not to love? I'm actually disowning part of my family for not telling me about this place! I WILL be back every chance I get.

Watermelon lotus!

Always such an amazing experience visiting Morning Moose! The staff is incredible, and the drinks/donuts are even better. I tried the watermelon lotus today, Dan was super knowledgeable about the ingredients and even let me do less caffeine! The drink is delicious, tastes SO MUCH better than an aromas rush, and even better that it is made with healthy ingredients! Definitely check out Morning Moose, you won't regret it :)

Amazing new coffee, tea and donut food truck addition to the Richmond area, located at 467 Main St. A dynamic sister duo, Elsie and Olivia are owners and baristas extraordinaire!! A large selection of hand crafted coffee drinks, teas and homemade mini donuts. Both drinks and donuts are made to order, fresh and hot. Everything is reasonably priced and the customer service is beyond. Highly recommend!!!

We went for their homemade ice cream. Loved it. By the lines I would say the locals agree.

Time and Tide in Biddeford. Since I was there I had a cup too, because why not. It was decent, but maybe just the slightest bit weak? Or maybe not. Lots of fancier options too but I don't go for those. They have a selection of baked goods. I think they're all from other small local businesses, not made here. I had a lemon blueberry scone with the coffee which was outstanding. Delightfully light in texture, not heavy or greasy, and not overly sweet. Lemony of course and the blueberries were plentiful, tangy, and small. I'd guess they were wild Maine blueberries (frozen of course this being April) but I'm not sure. A maple glaze completed this masterpiece. They didn't forget the chocolate lovers. A very dark enormous brownie called to me but reluctantly I passed. Maybe tomorrow. It annoys me when bakeries don't have any chocolate offerings. From the hand pie selection I chose a Carrot, Leek, and Goat Cheese for later. Also outstanding. The crust was flaky, not dry, subtly buttery, and just the right thickness for the filling which was generous. (It made it all the way to the edges, which many hand pies do not.) Decorated with thyme leaves. The filling was sweet, which I thought was just from the caramelized leeks but I read on the wrapper that sugar is also an ingredient. Just the right amount. The carrots were "rainbow", in several colors, and very pretty. Pretty expensive at $8 but for the size and quality I'm glad I got it. The place is very small but looks like a comfortable place to hang out. A few small tables, walls decorated with painted flowers and vines. The counter people were nice and thanked me for coming in. Customers were mostly engrossed in conversations, not absorbed into their devices. Even though it was just a quick stop for take-out I enjoyed my visit.

"We're about a good cup of coffee, delicious locally-sourced food, and being a welcoming and comfortable space to work, visit, or dream in Lisbon Falls." Their two major partners are Black Ink Coffee out of Bangor and the Italian Bakery out of Lewiston. This might not seem like a big deal, but there are so many places opening up in Greater Portland now that don't use a local coffee roaster and I don't get it. So, thanks LRC! The space has seating in front (it feels like these are the most coveted ones, as they're comfortable chairs with armrests located in front of their floor to ceiling windows overlooking the street) and some more basic two and four top tables in the back. The staff? So friendly! They were super patient when I had loads of questions, they made recommendations (like secret menu kind of stuff!), and they double-check our specific order, I think the coffee itself is good (hot, iced, or cold brew specifically); the specialty latte menu is really fun! It changes seasonally, and they're creative enough options that you'll want to come back to find out what the new line-up is. For me, though, they are too, too, too sweet. The sweetest latte I've ever had, honestly. It tasted like I was drinking melted ice cream. So, if you like a sugar forward, milk forward drink, get it as is. If you like a more coffee forward drink, PRO TIP, ask for half the amount of syrup and double up your espresso shots as well.

I spotted a couple of food trucks close to the parking lot and one of them was Kabayan. I've been hoping to try Kabayan for some time and even follow them on facebook. As a Filipino, it is nice to know there is a food truck in Maine where there's not really much places that offer Filipino food. I almost went with chicken teriyaki skewers but I went with a classic pairing of pancit (Filipino style stir fry noodles) and a variety of lumpia (Filipino style fried spring rolls) with sweet chili sauce instead. It was priced at $15 which was quite reasonable. One of my granddaughters loved the pancit and kept asking for more. My other granddaughter just wanted mango juice which she liked. Ate Emily (the chef owner) was personable and kind. She even had some candy for the kids to choose from. She offers a few varieties of lumpia (pork, shrimp, chicken, mushrooms) of which she gave me a variety of. I enjoyed my food. Really wishing they were closer.
