I want to give a shout out to Cayce in the grooming department. She was amazing!…read more We had an appointment at Urban Hound to get our dogs nails trimmed. She has black nails, so I can't trim them. She was badly abused before we got her, and is not cooperative about getting her nails trimmed. I gave her a sedative before we went to Urban Hound, but the woman that used to do her nails was no longer there, and the new person refused to do them. Since she was already sedated, I wanted to get this over with! I called and Cayce told me to bring her right in. She was great with our girl, and had her done in less than 15 minutes - less trauma for our girl. I so appreciated her help and her expertise! we know where we will be going from now on! I also purchased a new collar for her while we were there.

I tried to adopt a cat so my other cats would have companionship, but my application was denied…read morebecause I planned to let the cat live both indoors and outdoors. They even told me to stop submitting applications. It's frustrating that shelters can be so strict about keeping cats exclusively indoors that they'd rather deny a home to someone who genuinely wants to provide love, care, and companionship. Cats are curious animals that enjoy exploring, experiencing nature, and having the freedom to roam. I believe they deserve opportunities to experience the outdoors rather than spend their entire lives confined indoors. I understand that shelters want to protect animals, but I disagree with treating indoor-only living as the only acceptable option for every cat. There are ways to let cats enjoy the outdoors responsibly while still providing them with a safe home. I wish shelters would focus more on the quality of the home, the owner's intentions, and the individual cat's needs instead of automatically disqualifying people who allow their cats outdoors.
