Highly recommend this beautiful trail. Gorgeous views. Easy and try to go all the way to the top. Got lucky the day I came as it was beautiful sunny day. Some spots were a bit muddy from the recent rain but so worth it. It wasn't too busy but plenty of hikers runners and very pet friendly.

This was a great place to take a long walk. We did the mostly flat, easy walk out to the ocean. We walked approx 45 minutes out & then back. Its clean, folks are friendly. Highly recommend!

It was a pleasant and easy hike by the coast. It is not too crowded. However, the trail appears more eroded each time I go. The trees around are a spectacle and the coast is gorgeous. Can see beautiful, invasive weeds near the end of winter

Love hiking this scenic trail! There are so many paths you can take to tailor it to your own comfort level and goals, but I highly recommend going all the way to the top if you can- the views are incredible every time! Only thing is definitely wear hiking shoes with good grip because there's a decent amount of loose gravel which makes generic exercise shoes slip. If you're going after heavy rains the bottom creek could be flooded and challenging to cross.

Beautiful hike with gorgeous views. Lots of uphill and downhill, must wear proper shoes to not slide down. Somewhat child and dog friendly but for kids I would say 7 years old and up unless they are avid hikers. Lovely views. Came today around 1pm and hiked until almost 3pm and went down to the beach after the point by the steps. Weather was sunny with patches of clouds here and there and some wind but felt comfortable and warm with short sleeves.

This stunning walking trail begins with numerous gorgeous memorial gardens. The gardens are beautifully maintained and house amazing tributes. The path goes up to (what I'm sure is) a spectacular ocean view. I opted for the easier route and did not go up the steep looking hill and was rewarded with all incredible ocean view as well. Plus we walked around some of the little town nearby. It was idyllic and the weather was perfect.

Beautiful trail in Pacifica! There is a small parking lot by the trailhead, but you also can park at the Rockaway Beach lot. We went around 11:30am on a Saturday in May and it was somewhat busy. Weather was a little overcast and windy but manageable. The hike itself is straightforward, more on the easy-moderate side. There is some incline at the start of the trail going up to the point, and then it gets easier after that. There were some trail markers but easy to get lost and we accidentally deviated from the trail at the start so I recommend following a map. The last portion of the hike is along highway 1. Hiking shoes not necessary but would recommend. We really liked how the hike takes you along the coast! It goes right by the ocean and the trail passes by a few beaches. There were still some pretty wildflowers along the path. I would definitely come back, especially when the flowers are blooming in spring time!

Had a lovely little stroll along the coast and got to see beautiful wildflower at Mori Point. The entire hike was relaxing and so pretty. There's a staircase that leads up to the highest vista point for a breathtaking view of the ocean and field of wildflowers. There are purple lupines and some yellow daisy like flowers which I wish I knew the name to. There are some orange poppies mixed in as well. Absolutely enjoyable walk with the sea breeze and little bit of sunshine. We lucked out and got a sunny day today but not hot at all.

One of my favorite easy hikes in the peninsula. It's so beautiful and there is a part that gets steeper and uphill but it's not difficult at all. Beautiful views once you get to the top

Was pleasantly surprised by the pink flowers that I spotted on this beautiful trail along the pacifica coast. This is a very doable trail with no technical difficulties in my opinion with most spectacular views of the ocean along your way!! This is going to be my goto trail as it is so close to my home:yay:

Great hiking spot near Pacifica. There are multiple trails to take, but I would recommend stopping at the point to get a view up and down the coast. Most of the trails are pretty easy and there are stairs up to the point. Good parking options in Pacifica and there is a dedicated lot off the main road. I would recommend heading north after your hike to grab a coffee at one of the many coffee shops in Pacifica.

Great easy little hike for my 2.5yo (in crocs) and 7mo (in a carrier). Lots of trails to choose from for different hikers with varying experience. Dog friendly. We stuck with the flat trail along the coast with amazing views. It's windy though so hold onto your hats! Small parking lot but we came on a weekday so we got lucky and parked right at the trail head.

super bloom It's a perfect time to catch fields of wildflowers! A lot of people seemed to think of the same thing this weekend. Still found lots of accessible parking nearby and it was a short walk up to mori point for these super bloom views

Beautiful day, heading for the stair walk!

Ask the Community - Mori Point

    Can you do a bonfire?

Fires are not allowed on National Park Service land at Mori Point.

Is this a strictly on leash hiking spot?

Park regulations require pets to be on leash on all trails within the boundaries of Golden Gate National Recreation Area at Mori Point.

Anyone know how far is it from the parking lot to the swing? Thank you!

I used google maps and started at Mori Point parking lot (limited spaces but there's some street parking). Follow the signs that say Old Mori Road and it'll be at the end of that trail (about a 10-15 min walk, less than half a mile).

Which trail leads to the beach?

Take the Old Mori Point trail. This trail more direct to the beach (Sea Wall). You can take the long stairs up to the Point.

Can the remote trails be hiked during shelter-in-place?

Yes if social distancing is practiced

What's parking like here? I'm meeting two other friends there for a hike and just wondering if there's ample parking

The official parking lot is very small, holds about 5-6 cars maybe. I've parked up around the corner or on the street in the neighborhood before arriving to the parking lot area.

    Do they allow dogs?

Dogs are allowed if on a leash.

On the way up you can see views of the San Andreas Reservoir Lake. After the rain you can hear the water flowing and see some little streams and wild mushrooms. To the ridge is a little under 2 miles. I like the fact there is a small bathroom which I find quite rare on trails like this. To the left is the San Francisco Discovery Site which has a plaque with some information. Apparently, this was the place the Spanish settlers first saw the San Francisco Bay. To the right the trail goes along the ridge to the remains of the old Nike missile site. The views are stellar, and one can see for miles on end, Marin, the city, Pacifica Mount Diablo, etc. I love watching all the planes coming in and out from nearby SFO. From Sneath the hike is about 5 miles and 2 hrs. I've also gone the Mori Trail route which is nice because it's not paved but this trail is steeper. It's worth checking out the funky Shelldance Orchid Gardens which is located at the trailhead but they are only open on the weekends.

It was foggy, cold, and incredibly windy during my visit last week, and of course, there's an incline as the trail wraps around the mountain. But it wasn't too bad, the actual climb up didn't feel as difficult as it looked from a distance, starting with the sneath lane trail then connecting to other trails higher up. In fact, there are many options for different trails to take. The Baquiano Trail had a dirt pathway while the Notch Trail toward the Nike Missile Control Site was paved. Near the SF Bay Discovery Site, there's a small restroom building (it was pretty clean for a park facility, on a Thursday afternoon). The gorgeous foliage lining the various paths was captivating, along with lovely views of the hills, lake (san andreas reservoir), and sunlit scenery in the distance. Too foggy to enjoy the views the higher you get though, just a giant cloud of fog everywhere. I barely made it three miles out before turning back. It was just far too windy and foggy to wanna be out there very long (I'm sure hot days would be even worse with zero shade to be found). Plus my legs definitely had a workout from the uphill trek. Luckily the jog back down was a breeze. And I did slow down to appreciate the vegetation and vast array of plant species, once again, before leaving.

Yelpers have mentioned the trail to the waterfall starts where Westline Dr. and Skyline Dr. meet. From here it's fairly intuitive on where to go. I felt the trail down to the falls seemed too steep to attempt so I opted out. I'm not sure if it was better a few years ago but when I went it felt dangerous and easy to lose footing. I wouldn't recommend this part for someone hiking alone, with kids, or with inexperienced hikers. The trail continues in the other direction along Westline Avenue with views of the ocean. If you continue you can see the top of the waterfall from here. You have to walk a little off the main trail in the ice plant but it's worth it if you want to see the falls. Another way is you can see this waterfall is by walking from Esplanade Beach. From the top of the stairs there the waterfall is about .6 miles. It's so much easier to get to this way and it's a nice beach walk. From here you can't see the waterfall as clear because there is a lot of debris in the way. In this sense it's almost a better view from above. The waterfall comes out of a storm drain which isn't as nice and only flows after a big rain. I wouldn't come out of my way to see this waterfall. But I think it's worth coming to see if you are already at Esplanade Beach or live in the neighborhood and are walking the trail alongside Westline Dr. From the start point to the beach and back it's about a 3.4 mile hike.

I can't believe I've never reviewed this place, as I used to visit at least several times a month when I lived here in P-Town. But, as they say, better late than never. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The Good: *Multiple restrooms *Paid parking lot (see The Ugly below) as well as free street parking outside the park along Oddstad Rd. *Visitor Center *Campsites for Youth Camps *Beach Volleyball court *Horses OK on marked trails *Always lots of deer and wild bunnies at this park, especially in the lower bowl area by the VC. *Approx nine-miles of trails, with options ranging from flat (Weiler Ranch Trail) to hilly (Montara Mountain Trail) and everything in-between, including some loops. *The uphill on the trails we did (±4.5-miles) weren't very steep but nice and gradual, including the Montara Mountain Trail. *Ocean views and the entire Pacifica area *You can take the Montara Mountain Trail into McNee State Park, but beware you're looking at an elevation gain of ±1,800' so be prepared.
