For $95, it's a pretty solid deal, especially knowing the quality is there. ANYWAY... I stopped in here because a pair of non-Warby sunnies were in bad bad shape and I was hoping they could at least do some basic adjustments for me. I wasn't sure if they would be they let me know that they can't assume any of the risk if they happen to break and then put me on a waitlist. I had an extremely disappointing experience at The Optical Shoppe at Princeton spanning over 4…read moremonths. I received a new prescription from my optometrist for distance vision and ordered new sunglasses, distance glasses, and computer glasses. I paid for the frames and lenses for all 3, which came to more than $1,000. When I returned weeks later, only the distance glasses had been created. When I put them on, I realized the prescription made my vision worse, not better. I decided not to get the distance glasses and sunglasses and to only get a new pair of computer glasses with my previous prescription. I asked to be refunded for the pairs of glasses I would not be purchasing and was told by the associate to wait until I received my new computer glasses at which time a final refund would be granted. I had my previous optometrist fax my old prescription to the associate I was working with at The Optical Shoppe. When I had not heard from him about my new computer glasses after 3-4 weeks, I called only to discover that the prescription faxed to him by the optometrist was incomplete and that it was my responsibility to get the complete prescription to him. This was the first frustrating experience as I was never told by him that the prescription he received was incomplete, so there was no way I could have known this and re-request the full prescription be faxed, nor did the associate call the optometrist to request the full prescription. I worked with the associate and picked out new frames for the computer glasses and had the old prescription faxed to him. When I received the call that my new computer lenses were in, I discovered that the associate never put in the order for the new frames I had picked out with him a few weeks earlier. He denied that I had given him the frames I selected with him weeks ago. I was very disappointed about his lack of accountability and professionalism. He then had his supervisor see me and she very sternly (and rudely) told me that I should take my business elsewhere rather than offering to fix the problem that The Optical Shoppe had created. When I explained that I wanted to have the computer glasses made at The Optical Shoppe, she told me I had to pay for any new frames I would purchase, which I had agreed to do multiple times during our discussion, but did not offer initially to refund the money I had spent (over $1,000) months earlier for glasses. She finally did process my refunds, but only after I insisted this be done. In so many ways and in almost every interaction I had with them over 4 months, The Optical Shoppe staff was unhelpful and unaccommodating. I decided not to do business with them given repeated failures to properly take and fill my order, their lack of accountability for mistakes they made, their unwillingness to try to fix things, and for the rudeness with which I was treated. As a physician, I recognize the importance of caring for the patient in a kind, compassionate, and understanding way, and to accept responsibility for any mistakes one makes during the course of providing care or a service.

Before I explain why, I want to thank Melissa and the rest of the crew at the Optical Shoppe for all the good work and kindness that provided for all those years and say how very sad I am to be taking my business elsewhere. The shop has changed for the worse, apparently due to the recent change in ownership. The selection of merchandise has changed significantly, so that you are forced to choose between a smaller collection of low/mid-tier ($125-$225) frames and a beefed-up collection of premium ($500+) merchandise. This upsell tactic was made even more painful for me by their with elimination of one of my favorite brands (Flexon) and a much-reduced selection of RayBan frames. Service has gone the same route. The poor sales people are rushed and impersonal, not entirely their fault since the store appears to be quite understaffed. It would also explain why they act as if answering questions was more of an annoyance than part of their job. More important, they seem to be constrained by new policies that don't allow them to offer small courtesies they once did, such as recording our preferences in frames and holding them until new prescription was ready. Does anybody have a suggestion for a better store - preferably not one of those big chains?

There's a look of the disdain and frustration on the receptionist face, as if she doesn't want to be there. So I would say a receptionist job is not for her!! The doctor is mediocre at best. She has a script for every patient and barely makes eye contact (no pun intended). You don't feel like you're getting a visit that's customized and tailored for you. It just feels extremely generic. Then after I I'm told to go select my glasses, and the sales associate would be with me shortly. Well I had to ask two or three times for someone to help me. The 'sales' lady never even got up from her chair to actually show me and my son the selection of frames, so I just grabbed the ones that I had from the last time and selected a pair for my son out of sheer frustration and impatience. The kicker to all of this wonderful customer service experience, was that as I'm paying for two sets of glasses after insurance deductions and discounts, I'm also told that my daughter's exam was not covered by insurance since I was two weeks shy of the annual exam from last year. At no point did anyone ever share this with me from the appointment scheduling to the exam itself. So I had to pay $89 out-of-pocket for an exam that I could've just done in two weeks. Utterly ridiculous. I will never be back there again. This place is a joke.

If possible, I would give this place a -10 rating…read more I had cataract surgery with Dr. Wong, and unfortunately, I have experienced permanent vision problems since the procedure. I can no longer read small print comfortably at all. Before the surgery, I was told that if I paid extra for special lenses, I would not need reading glasses. However, I still need reading glasses which is so inconvenient. When I brought this up with Dr. Wong, he said he never made that statement and explained that almost all cataract patients need reading glasses. He said my previous Lasik surgery almost 30 years ago was the problem that I do not have a good vision after this surgery. I am extremely disappointed with my experience and the outcome of my surgery. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend that patients carefully consider get a second opinion before choosing this practice. I'm so upset for choosing this place.

I was given fluoroquinolones (Cipro and Levaquin) IV. By day 3 I could not see. Everything was blurry. It did not go away. I decided to see Dr. Boname because she was nearby where I was hospitalized. I liked her immediately because she did not try to defend the medical system the way many practitioners do even when they've clearly erred. She said those kinds of fluoroquinolone antibiotics damage the retina. You'll need glasses now. Any time I have met with her or been cared for by her, I have felt that I'm being cared for by family that has a special interest in me. She doesn't just care about the two eyes in our face because she knows many serious conditions show up in the eyes first....diabetes, cardiovascular disease etc. She knows there are no fences in the body and the body is a whole system that works synergistically together. She takes into consideration genetics and their support, what I consider the "laser approach" to personalized medicine. I know I will get the best care from here which is why I have driven from Rhode Island to her office outside of Princeton, NJ for many years.

Ben - who runs the eyeglass/contact side of the business - is one of the nicest, knowledgeable professionals I have met. He provides quality frames and lenses. He provides clear information about lenses and has a good eye in picking frames to suit your face. I am a bit clumsy and needed frequent adjustment to my frames - to the point I felt guilty coming In so often- but am always reassured it is no problem and come back anytime. I was promptly told to wait in the back. Then Eric did some eye tests. He was very nice. Then I saw Dr. Williamson who did additional tests and examined my eyes. She was also very nice, pleasant, and answered all of my questions. Eric helped me choose glasses and helped me figure out what the best scenario was to use my insurance for maximum benefits. He wrote it all down for me too. He was helpful and personable. All in all, it was a pleasant experience with these two employees at this location. I had no issues at all. I cannot comment about other employees there because I did not engage with them. This Visionworks location is in the large Nassau Park Blvd. shopping area, located diagonally across from the AtHome store. It's at the shopping section directly across from the PetSmart shopping area, but at the way opposite end. There's plenty of room to park over there since several of the stores are vacant. You can schedule an appointment online and also fill out all of the paperwork online. I recommend this location based on my good experience there.
