Tried this gem after my daughter said she wanted Italian. We have been meaning to try it and so glad we finally did!!! Great service and food was delicious. The chicken parm was tender and their spaghetti sauce has a great flavor! Thanks for the hospitality. Oh, and the homemade cheesecake was to die for. read more

Our favorite Italian Restaurant, I keep thinking of trying something different but always end up ordering either veal or chicken Moretti. The portions are significant so I always have another meal the next day. Service is always great and the bread and their homemade butter is so good read more

Love this place! Everything is so fresh. Plate sizes are huge. Service is outstanding!

My wife and I went tonight for Valentine's Day dinner. Everything was excellent and our server (Bridget) was extremely knowledgeable and welcoming. We had a great overall experience and look forward to visiting again. read more

A couple family members took me here for dinner a couple nights ago. They're both OSU alum and seem to like this place for nostalgic reasons... that's gotta be it because it can't be the food. Bread - Big hunk of bland white bread. Like wonder white. Italian wedding soup - Giant bowl overflowing with chicken broth, noodles and veggies covered with shredded, chopped up chicken. Chicken parmesan - Eh - it was ok. Eggplant parmesean - Too much cheese, too much garlic. Spaghetti (homemade) - Tastes like egg noodles. Weird. I wouldn't go back. Too many other good restaurants in Columbus. read more

These days when I go out to eat for dinner and I have a bad meal, I get angry. Angry about the wasted time, money, and opportunity to eat good food. Well I'm kinda mad right now. I'm not sure if there is a connection from this Moretti's and the one in Upper Arlington, but this Sawmill location is the extreme opposite of the UA one. The food here is plain awful. My entree was preceded with a bowl of Italian Wedding soup. It was sooo salty that I couldn't take more than a few bites of it. My husband got a salad and it was coated with salty salty dressing. He too only took a few bites and was done. I ordered just a plate of spaghetti and meatballs with marinara sauce. Thankfully this dish wasn't overly salted, however it still wasn't very good. It was just "meh". The sauce was pretty one note and uninteresting. The food not only was bad, but pretty overpriced. $16 for a plate of blah spaghetti? The one good thing I can say about this place is that the service was great. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. Ok. End of bad meal rant. read more

I have never had anything here that wasn't FABULOUS! My favorite is the cannelloni. The lasagna can't be beat. The wedding soup is terrific. Nope, can't think of anything I don't love about this place. read more

I had been craving some home made pasta for a couple weeks. I knew the place I needed to visit was Moretti's. This is a family owned business that uses family recipes. It is nested within a small strip mall along Sawmill Road. Pasta, bread and sauces are homemade. This location is quite small and often times very busy. Be prepared to get cozy with the neighboring table. There were a lot of "excuse me" as folks were sliding in and out of the restaurant and when the servers passed you by. Volume can get a bit loud as a result. I do suggest making a reservation or at least calling in advance if you want to venture here for dinner. There is a large bar that lines one wall of the interior. Seating along the bar can also be tight. They bring you a small mini-loaf of homemade bread with their own butter spread that contains garlic & herbs. The butter is wonderful, but without being too sinful I spread it on their homemade bread. I'm addicted to both, unfortunately. Menu items are served with your choice of soup or house salad. I enjoy their house tossed salad. Add gorgonzola cheese for extra zing. I have tried a number of items from their menu in the past. Most portion sizes are quite generous. It is pretty common to take the extra home for a second meal. My recent visit I had their Cannelloni. Its baked egg noodles filled with ground veal and covered with their tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. The tomato sauce has a bit of kick to it. Although tempted to have dessert, I was simply way too full. Service has generally been pretty responsive and personable. They do offer an outdoor patio for warmer days. It does lay right up against a very busy parking lot, but is comfortable on a nice evening. read more

Homemade pasta! I had the Pasta Primavera with spinach noodles and asked for a mixture of the tomato and cream sauces. Excellent dish. The entrees come with bread and soup or salad. The house salad was good, even if a little unusual since it had pasta in it. I'll definitely return. read more

Never again. I don't typically write bad reviews, I know everyone has an off night, but when the owner says to you "I don't know what you want me to do about it." and continues to charge me $50 for a meal I couldn't even eat, well, it's on! Food? Meh, go to La Scala, better quality, better price. Atmosphere? You tell me, do you like strangers sitting in your lap? Service? We requested a table when we got there, her response? "we'll see, you may have to sit in a booth". Utterly disappointed. Had to take our overpriced, under seasoned food home. I had to pay for it so I am going to choke this crap down if it kills me. read more

The location is incredibly questionable as everyone has mentioned, but once you are seated I promise you will forget you are in a strip mall. This place has a special place in my heart because it was the location of my husband and I's first date! But nostalgia aside, the food is incredible. Every thing on the menu is just amazing, the bread and the salads are also! The Shrimp and Sausage Pasta is my favorite dish! Lots of great wines offered too! Romantic and intimate. Great place for date night !!! oh ps. the butter that comes with the bread is good, but ask for red sauce to dip it in!!!!!!!! read more

Have heard so much hype about this place...that it disappointed a little. Small dining space, bar looked pretty nice, will sit here next time. First sat at a tiny 2 top against the wall and felt so crowded and asked to be moved. Salads were great and a generous portion; good greens, light vinaigrette and also included a few noodles of pasta. Hubby had their sausage/pepper/chicken combo-very tasty! Definitely would order again. I ordered the classic lasagna. I wasn't as impressed...had better. It needed salt, once I added, improved dramatically. I also think I prefer beef lasagna over all veal. The chocolate chip cannoli was the best I have ever had. Lots of ricotta and very generous portion. Was close to licking the carryout container, but restrained self. Good place, not cheap, but if you have ever made homemade pasta you would understand why. read more

Moretti's is located in a small strip mall and from first glance a person may not think it would be a good place to eat but nothing is further from the truth. It is a small place but very clean. First off I would recommend making a reservation as the locals really like this place. We tried to eat here the night before but there was a 90 minute wait. Also, in the hour plus we were there, I know they had at least 5-7 takeout orders picked up. The average price for a meal was around $22.00 but you really get your monies worth. They offer some wonderful Italian food. Once seated, they bring out a loaf of bread and homemade garlic butter. The bread isn't warm but it is golden brown and very fresh. There were 4 of us and we ate 3 loaves. I had the chicken parmesan which came with Alf redo noodles in red sauce with a house salad. The salad included the normal salad items along with some green beans, spiral and round spaghetti noodles. The house dressing was light and taste. The main course was very large and delicious! The juicy, tender chicken breast was covered with cheese, mushrooms and the tomato sauce was thick and really flavorful. My husband had the sausage lasagna and he really liked it but it was too spicy for me. Anyway, everyone had something different and we all come away very content and with enough food for another meal. Service was excellent and the waitress seemed to read our minds because she always showed up when needed but not in a pushy fashion. The next time I'm in Columbus, I will truly eat here again. read more

It was my first time going to Moretti's. A friend recommended that I try the place. The service was wonderful and the atmosphere was delightful. I had a chicken entrée and it was delicious. The portion sizes are big so I have enough for tomorrow. It was such a great experience and I highly recommend if you like authentic Italian food. I will return soon. read more

I take it back, Columbus does have one good Italian place as it turns out. Moretti's was in fact great and i'm hard pressed to to say boo about anything. Ok, the bread was served cold, but that's about it. The Italian wedding soup was hearty and authentic, the crab cake appetizer was more of an entree and the lemon sauce was top shelf. We did a chicken parm and pep/mushroom pizza. Both were big portions coocked perfectly with nothing tasting out of a box. I'm looking forward to trying the Chicken catetori next time. Things are a little cramped, but i can understand them wanting to make the most out of a strip mall location. I found staff to be very pleasant, but i think they could use a few more waitresses on duty. read more

Best authentic Italian hands down. Almost everything is homemade, the bread, soups, meatballs, sausage and most noodles ( lasagna, ravioli, spaghetti, fettuccine, cannelloni, manicotti, etc )!! You see people coming in and being treated like old friends from the staff. Occasionally you'll see someone just walk right into the kitchen and you immediately hear loud, warm, Italian greetings. The portions are big and you'll most likely have leftovers but the food is just as good the second day and you almost wish you hadn't eaten so much at the restaurant because now you're craving more. Sometimes we get Morettis in our heads and it almost starts a Pavlovian salivating response and we have to go get it! Oh, the carry-out portions are the same size and are given the same attention to detail, unlike a lot of other places where the carry-out is nowhere near the dine in experience. This location is by far my favorite. This location and the one in Arlington are owned by brothers but their cooking styles are way different. Their mom makes both locations her amazing cheesecakes though! read more

One of our two "go-to" spots for Italian in Columbus. Hand-made pasta and sauce... you can tell the difference in a heartbeat. Huge portions, so very easy to split an entree between 2 people. The chix parm, chicken moretti, and lasagna are excellent. Sauce on chicken moretti can be a bit overwhelming... watch your portions with that dish or you and the toilet are going to cozy up for a while (cream sauce). Side salads are OK, but enjoyable (marinated tomatoes). Bread w/ their garlic butter is delicious... when we do takeout I actually save the leftover garlic butter and use it on grilled steaks. Bar is alright, wine list kind of stinks for this place... they could use some work there. Restaurant interior is dimly lit, more intimate/old-school setting and decor. It works. Good sized bar area w/ nice setup. Service has always been friendly. Reservations are a good idea, and for dine-in or carryout, their daily deals are a great option to save a few bucks. Excellent food, highly recommend. read more

First impression as I walked in- smelly old dish towels. That really set the mood for my dinner date. I had high expectations for this place because my friends raved about it. I ordered the Chicken Cacciatore with wedding soup. First off, the wedding soup was a bit salting so I didn't drink much of that. I tried my friend's salad and it was pretty average with the typical lettuce, tomato, olive- nothing out of the norm. The chicken cacciatore tasted good but the handmade pasta was a disappointment. I ate fresh handmade pasta in Italy, China, Veritas tavern(restaurant in Delaware, Ohio), so I know what fresh taste like. The texture was harder and stiff like pasta that's been out for a while and starting to dry up. The portion was humongous- cut the price & portion in half and improve the quality of handmade egg noodle. read more

Oh my gawd yum. Don't let the fact that it's in a strip mall on Sawmill deter you. It's crazy good. The salad that comes with entrees is inexplicably delicious. Holy moly. Marinated tomatoes? Yes, please! The garlic butter for the (plain) bread? Uhhhmazing. The bread is just a butter delivery tool if you ask me. Chicken cacciatore is my absolute fave, but the eggplant parm, spaghetti, and a lasagnas are all delicious, too. They clearly make their pasta and sauces from scratch. Note that the wine and beer selection are not particularly inspiring. But the deliciousness of the food will intoxicate you enough. Not super cheap, but check out their website for their nightly specials, which will save you some bucks. Also, the portions are so huge most anyone would be ok splitting an entree. read more

Came here for the first time last evening. I was a little skeptical because its in a strip mall and its definitely not the classiest setting. But didn't your mom always tell you not to judge a book by its cover? BEST ITALIAN FOOD IN COLUMBUS. I say this as an Italian who's family owns Italian restaurants all over Pittsburgh. I had the manicotti, which was fantastic. The ricotta stuffing was a bit sweeter than most recipes, which made it all the better. Sauce was divine. Dinner was started with bread and homemade (I assume....) garlic butter. I opted for Italian wedding soup as my starter, which was still good, but I prefer my wedding soup to have more orzo or dittalini and meatballs! I took home my last manicotti and we had to skip on dessert, we were so full! I give service four stars. We definitely weren't "wined and dined", but our server was polite and efficient. The dining room is small, but quaint. I literally called my Nonna (Italian for "Grandma"!) to tell her that I think I just found the best Italian restaurant in Columbus! read more

As Doug T. noted below, very disappointed. Our family agonized over what to order and called to place a carry-out order tonight (Saturday evening) one hour before the restaurant closed. We were told they had cut off carry-out orders because they were busier earlier. Makes no sense. I have never heard of this, especially during these COVID times. Either they take carry- out orders during the hours they are open or they don't. The food is fantastic, but this kind of approach makes you not want to support them in the future. If you want to place a carry out order, you better call first before you spend any time deciding what you want. They may have decided they are not doing carry out at that particular time or day. read more

I ate at Moretti's for the first time last night. Very nice decor (especially surprising since it's in a strip mall). Our waitress was great; it sounded like she's had just about everything on the menu and loved it. They had a calamari appetizer that evening and it was delicious. Most restaurants do small pieces of calamari, but these were huge! For my entree, I had the sausage casserole; the restaurant makes it own sausage (it had a nice little kick) and their own spinach noodles. The portions there are very large, and I look forward to enjoying my leftovers. read more

The food at this restaurant was amazing. Definitely try the eggplant appetizer. We split a chicken parmesan dish and also ordered the vegetarian pizza with no onions. When at first the chef made the pizza with onions, he remade the pizza without onions and then comp'd it from the bill. The chicken parmesan dish filled us up so we took the free pizza home! Oh and don't skip the pumpkin cheesecake for dessert, it is fantastic. read more

Moretti's Restaurant - Patio dinning! So relaxing! - Italian Near Me - Dublin, Ohio

Don't let the strip mall location of this Italian restaurant fool ya! With white table cloths, homemade pasta and entrees between $15-$25, Moretti's is a place to go for a special occasion or when you're wanting a large meal and then a large meal of leftovers for the next day. You are immediately served endless bread with garlic butter. THE GARLIC BUTTER. It's worth contemplating ordering a meal over because this bread n' butter is satisfying and filling once you keep on saying, "okay, just one more slice!". Each entree comes with soup or salad and this salad is certainly something Moretti's is known for! It comes with romaine, tomatoes, green beans, noodles, balsamic vinaigrette and gorgonzola cheese if you want to spend $2 more. For some strange reason, the most recent time I went, all of the 12 girls I sat with commented on how salty the salad was. We still ate it up but probably a bad batch of dressing unless they spiked the sodium content in the recipe. I would recommend skipping the entree portions of the menu and looking at the appetizers. You'll find spaghetti, fettuccine alfredo and other pasta dishes for a few bucks less and maybe 5 bites shy of the regular dinner size (aka copious amounts food!). I'm confused on how a large plate of spaghetti could be shared by all before another large plate of your own but I'm not complaining! The tomato sauce has a little kick to it so if you're anti-spicy, I would pass. The seating is relatively limited, the walk to the bathroom is 'I hope someone doesn't back out of their seat at the bar because I will get pinned again the wall' and the service for a busy Saturday night was nothing to rave about. Probably not theee best Italian I've ever had but if you're looking for something authentic, I would recommend! read more

I haven't lived in Columbus in 5 years, but I am always looking for my "Moretti's". They have a decent wine selection, great food in a fun atmosphere. Once you step inside, you forget you are in a strip mall. When ever I get back to Ohio, this is the first place on the list. read more

Our favorite was on Sawmill but decided to try the one in Upper Arlington. Server did a good job. Prices very high. Place was noisy (it was happy hour) but the place looks tired. I got an Italian flatbread, nothing special. read more

Totally average Italian food at an overpriced cost. The dining experience is downgraded by it's cramped seating area, which many might call "cozy" or "quaint" but if you're rubbing elbows because of space constraints, I don't find that enjoyable. Additionally, the location is in a strip plaza right next to an Indian restaurant, the smell from which consumes you prior to enjoying your Italian meal. I'd elect for another Italian restaurant in Dublin rather than go to Moretti's again - even the totally commercial, non-authentic Olive Garden. At least I get what I'm paying for there. And the calamari was way too chewy, so I recommend skipping it as an appetizer. read more

If your idea of italian food is endless combinations of sauces pastas and the occasional meat this place will convince you otherwise. You've really never had italian until you've visited this strip mall secret with its campy mafia decor. It's pricey but worth it. The portions are generous and they welcome sharing. Food is always fresh and piping hot! Vegetables are in full form in all of the dishes, cheese is of serious quality, and the meat is lean. This is a nice treat with friends to celebrate or commiserate. Also a nice break from your typical italian chains and the cameron mitchell monopoly. You'll find me there with close friends sharing a bottle of wine reccommend by the extremely knowledgable and efficient staff over a HUGE half portion of the vegetarian lasagna. This place almost makes me want to move to the suburbs. read more

Pro - Food!! Most favorite entrees...Chicken Moretti, Veal Moretti, Chicken Padrone, Crumbled Sausage (the name of the dish does not do this dish justice - I only ordered after I saw someone else eating it). - Dinner comes with a great salad (has pasta on it!) and yummy bread. - Portion. Definitely enough for a second meal the next day and reheats well. Con - This is one of my favorite restaurants in Cbus - however, the pricing on their side salad that comes with the entree is shady! The server asks if you would like gorgonzola cheese on the salad but does not let you know there is a $2 upcharge. Then there are 2 salad dressing options - balsamic and creamy gorgonzola. So, if you get the gorgonzola dressing there is no upcharge, but if you get gorgonzola sprinkled on top there is a $2 charge. Every time I come here with a group of people - there is always confusion on the free vs charged gorgonzola. - When ordering any dish with "fettuccini in a cream sauce," recommend requesting going light on the cream sauce. Otherwise the dish is swimming in the cream sauce - which takes away from the amazing flavor of the homemade fettuccini. read more

My fiance and i wanted to go some where romantic for dinner. So we decided to try out Moretti's. I'm Italian, so i am super critical of Italian food out. Since i grew up eating homemade delicious Italian food on the east coast. This place didn't disappoint me. The food was fresh, delicious and satisfying. I would definitely call ahead for seating. We got seated in a high traffic area with a small table because we didn't call ahead. The waitresses were fun, friendly and helpful. The prices are a little steep in my opinion but the food is of high quality. So i can't complain too much. I don't think i could be a regular here. But when i am in the food for some rich, delicious food i will for sure come back. It's the best Italian food i have had in Ohio. So i definitely recommend trying it! read more

Looking for something different for dinner, I consulted Yelp. After reading the other reviews for this Italian eatery I decided to give it a try. Other reviews had prepared me for the strip mall location. The interior was nice. I decided rather quickly on salad and the the sausage casserole. On Tuesday this selection was $14.00.There was plenty of food and I was only to eat 1/3 of my salad and 1/2 of my main dish. I had it packaged to go and I may just use the refrigerator and microwave in my hotel room for a low key lunch or dinner tomorrow. With that in mind I could have a great cup of coffee and dessert tomorrow. Now the search is on for this perfect combination! I know my fellow Yelpers won't let me down, they never do. read more

I would like to start with how I really don't want to be negative, especially during these trying times, but while business are trying everything they can to provide families with high quality service, Moretti's is too damn arrogant to accommodate someone who is trying to give them service. My wife's birthday is April 26th, and since this birthday is already a downer, the one meal request she had was for her favorite dish for Moretti's. Personally, I don't care for their food, and I feel that it is very overpriced for subpar Italian cuisine, (hey, to each their own) but I wanted to make my wife happy. Since Moretti's isn't open on Sundays, I wanted to surprise her for a Saturday meal. I called at 1pm on Saturday, April 25th to put in the order. The male that I spoke with on the phone told me that they will not take any orders until they open up at 4pm. Fine, I try again at 4pm, and this time the female I was speaking to told me that they were only taking orders for 4:30pm pick up. I asked if it would be possible to take an order for pick up at 6:00pm, and was told no. I said this was for a birthday surprise, and wanted to know if she could at least write down the order to be put in for a 6:00pm pick up. She stated, "We don't have that set up here at Moretti's to take orders ahead of time, so if you would like an order for pick up at 6:00pm, you should try back at about 5:20pm..." I call at 5pm, knowing this restaurant is popular and that it is a Saturday. the line is Busy for forty-five minutes. I never end up getting through. My wife comes outside to see what I am doing, and why I am so upset. I finally have to spoil the surprise, and break the news to here that we wouldn't be having Moretti's tonight (some of you may be asking, "why didn't you put in an online order?" Morretti's doesn't offer online orders...) My wife finally got through on the phone at about 6:20pm, asking how long an order would take to put in right now. The woman answering the phone stated, "We actually are backed up on orders right now, and won't be taking any more orders until after 7:30pm." Again, I'm not an internet troll. This is in fact my first Yelp review. I know that many people hold this restaurant in high regard. In my own personal opinion, I have never been very fond of their food, but more the gall that the entire restaurant has, with a sense of "we're Moretti's, so deal with it, or go somewhere else." I wish nothing but the best for Moretti's, and all businesses at this time to pull through. I hope we will return back to normal soon, and I'm sure I will have to eat at Moretti's again since my wife and her side of the family love it so much. I'm just extremely disappointed that I wasn't able to provide my wife with her one birthday request under normal accommodations. I had to give Moretti's one star because I was forced to, so I'll give one star for the "meh" Italian food, and zero stars for the terrible customer service. read more

Went for my birthday because we heard great things about it. It is very dark and not in a romantic way. Had to use our phones to see the menu and it was a 5:00 reservation. Our table had spaghetti and meatballs, manicotti, chicken parmesan, a salad etc. The manicotti was cold, the sauce they make has a tangy hot spice that no one liked. Their bread has no taste. The kids said it tasted like paper. The Italian Wedding soup was the highlight. Don't expect a little piece of cake or cup of ice cream if its your birthday - nothing. My way of rating a place is if I would go back....I would not go back here. read more

I was terribly unimpressed with my experience here. All the reviews said it was great. I don't know what everyone was eating but it was awful. I was celebrating my birthday. The tables are awkwardly placed. It was REALLY loud and difficult to have a conversation. I got the homemade veal ravioli. You could tell they were homemade because the dough was so thick it could double as a paperweight. They were bland and the size of lemons. The dish was more than $20 and absolutely not worth it. The salad and soup weren't memorable at all. I only ate half of my meal because I was so disappointed with the whole experience. I won't be back. read more
