Now I see why this DMV branch has such a low rating…read more I live in DTLA and this is the closest DVM to me. I went to my appointment today, 7/16/26, around 3pm. When I needed to get a replacement ID, the online system failed me and required me to come in person to get a new ID. The check in lady I kiosk 9 is terribly rude and unprofessional, based on what I observed, as she served other people. Thank god I didn't get her as the person helping me. The blonde lady in kiosk 10 was personable and wonderful. She was friendly and eager to help. After getting my number, I was sent to kiosk 1. Marcelo was the person who attempted to assist me with the things I needed. He was this "straight" caucasian looking Latino boy with a side of major sass! He was ride with very expressive facial expressions, which was kind of entertaining. We love a masc fem guy! LOL. I didn't mind the sassiness and attitude, but he was feeding me wrong information left to right. I asked him about getting a new pic and he said I couldn't. 3 other employees near him was listening in and chimed in saying that I can get a new picture. He stayed quiet and eventually I was allowed to get a new picture. Before I left, I asked him another thing and he said that I had to go to window 21, which is where people speak to the managers, I later found out. This was the wrong instruction. The manager finally told me what I was supposed to go to get the thing I wanted. Idk if he is new, but he needs additional training. Lady in kiosk 24 was nice and lovely. Got me everything else I needed. Easy parking across the street. Make an appointment so you do t have to wait a long time to be helped.

He lied outright on my exam saying there was a pedestrian when that pedestrian had just stepped onto the sidewalk 40 feet behind me. He never presented his ID and did not provide his last name. The CA DMV is fractured and needs to be overhauled in total. Nothing in there online or phone system works correctly. They make is bad of an experience as possible. This cannot be tolerated from a state funded organization.

For other DMV services such as Real IDs/Driver Licenses, behind the wheel tests, please go to the DMV on 803 Cole Avenue in Hollywood (near Pavilions). I came a few minutes early before my appointment past 9AM. The line was not long and the staff are very transparent, firm yet still polite. I was given a number and was called to proceed to a certain window in less than 10 minutes. I came here to process my car's title and registration. I came prepared with all required documents (Real Driver's License, bill of sale, car title, proof of insurance) and was prompted to pay the registration fee. Also make sure to not sign the title until you are instructed to do so. Otherwise, you will need to sign an affidavit onsite. They accept cash, cheque (no added fees) and debit/credit cards (for a fee). I was able to complete my transaction within 15 minutes. They have decent amount of onsite parking and is also accessible by Metro lines 212 and 4. I highly recommend going to WeHo DMV for your vehicle registration needs.

When I went, I asked one lady if she knew where her coworker went? She said, probably on a break and I asked how long is a break? She responded but looked annoyed that I even asked her. While I was waiting, I had no idea if she just went on break, so I asked another lady if she knew how long ago that she left because I wanted to go to the bathroom and didn't want to come back and have someone else take my place while I went to the bathroom. The lady I asked was rude. She said that other lady answered my question. In my head I said , no she didnt? This is a new question. But everytime I tried to ask her she cut me off and kept telling me to go sit down and wait . She looked upset that I even bothered her while she was talking to her other coworker and looked very annoyed . Terrible customer service. The lady that helped me that I had to come back to, was such a good hearted women! She went above and beyond for me to get me the help that I needed. After explaining what that other co worker said, I was told, thats her supervisor! Really! She should be written up for having an attitude and being a rude person. I know you all see a lot of people, but you choose to be in a business for customer service, yet most of you treat people like their stupid and treat them rudely. Imagine this kind of treatment was done to you or your Mother, Father, daughter or son. Maybe your Grandmother. How would you feel! Shame on you who treat people rudely. Why don't you all quit and get other jobs where you're not an A-hole to us people who need help? I pray you turn your anger or attitudes around and really help people who are there to get help.

Some of the employees have a rude way of speaking and a poor attitude toward people, and they just want to rush them through without listening to them. Please, this behavior is an unattractive representation of the city! Most -- not all -- of the employees at this DMV need sensitivity training! They forget that YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT PEOPLE ARE GOING THROUGH WHEN THEY COME IN. YOU DON'T KNOW IF THEY ARE FEELING SICK OR WELL, STRESSED OUT OR OVERWHELMED, GRIEVING, ETC., SO EXTRA PATIENCE, KINDNESS, AND POLITENESS IS A MUST! I shake my head .... This is why I prefer going to the Torrance branch even though it is a 20+ minute drive if there's no traffic! The Torrance branch has very good customer service! The good parts about my visit: in the beginning, the system mostly flowed to get customer's needs taken care of. Near the end, it got a little confusing as to where to go next after taking your picture, to get your provisional license. Some of the employees were polite and patient and explained things better than others, and I am grateful to them. Thank God for the few employees who are the light shining in darkness! I'm going to go back to this DMV just to find the QR code where you can share your concerns. I hope someone will listen and make a positive change over there!

The second and last time I came here was a different story. There was a female employee who was yelling at people and pointing for them where to go. So unprofessional. When it came to my turn, I was confused to where she was pointing at and yelling at me where to go since she was behind the desk but she continued to just yell louder and give me attitude like I was a back in grade school. I'm a substitute teacher and I don't even talk to my students that way. I went up to her to ask her a question and she just gives me attitude back again. The other employee next to her was more patient and professional. But my goodness I've never had to deal with such a rude, unprofessional employee anywhere before. The whole DMV was just chaotic. I typically go to the one in Arleta and it's much more organized no matter how packed it gets. Definitely won't be back there again.

Moving onto the photo process, this is never fun but the lady here was nice as well. I guess my head was tilted way too much so I had to retake, but I know either way, it will resemble hell in human form so it's okay. I arrived with an appointment so things went well, but even without one, sometimes they can still take you at a decent time depending on the day, etc. Still recommend an appointment regardless just to be safe. Parking lot always has spots which is helpful. Received my new card about a week later, and I had to laugh since my head WAS kind of tilted. I'm stuck with this for the next five years and I'm fine with that. A lady was having trouble at the self help kiosk and she politely asked for help. The worker tells her "you rushin and ain't tryna read the prompts!" "You insert your card! You ain't neva insert yo card at da regista?" Turns out the machine was not reading any cards. Multiple people were having problems with the machine. Anyone that questioned why the worker was being rude to them instantly got confronted by the security guard. I never even talked to either of these workers but seeing them talk to the other customers infuriated me that our tax money is paying people so rude and unprofessional to customers that were asking questions politely.
