As it turns out, we ran into a hiccup when installing my windshield (through no fault of Moran's). When he removed the cracked windshield, he found that the Acura dealer had made a mistake when doing the original installation thus, he had to leave the job partially undone to source the correct parts. I found Moran's Auto Glass via Yelp and yet again, the Yelp algorithm guided me to a truly 5-star business. Thanks Yelpers. Don't tell my insurance company with the reptile as a mascot, but I drive all over the Bay Area. Sometimes I even drive to Tahoe, LA, Vegas, etc. The real problem in the Bay Area, especially where I live in the Tri-Valley where the 580 meets the 680, are the horrible roads. It's ludicrous that despite having some of the highest taxes in the country our roads are shit. On top of that, there are a ton of idiot truck drivers. Not only do they drive way too fast (posted speed limit for trucks is 55 mph), but you will find them in every damn lane. Yes, even the fast lane. What this means is that combined with the disintegrating roads, these fast moving trucks launch projectiles at your windshield. And since these trucker f*ckers are in every lane, it's like navigating the USS Enterprise through an asteroid belt without any deflector shields. If only I had photo torpedos to engage... So... the last time I replaced my windshield was less than two years ago. Since that time, I had at least 7 cracks and chips of all kinds. Sadly, the most recent one spread about 8 inches so I knew it was time to replace it. Ishmael was able to come out and replace the windshield on short notice and at a reasonable price. It's great to support a small business, especially when they do their jobs well and charge less than the franchise companies. If you need your windshield replaced in the East Bay, don't me a moron and give Moran a call. read more

Updated 2/5/24 from 4 to 3 as i figured out ismael had only replaced half of the clips for the windshield moldings, and the replacements were not the right clips! I suspect he left the original clips in there too for support, but half of tabs of my moldings had been broken off anyway - and were still in the clips! The windshield itself is great (hence the 3 still) but very sloppy cover-up work on my car's moldings. I'm sorry but I cannot recommend this company. UPDATED 1/24/24 FROM 2 TO 4 AS ISMAEL FINALLY SENT A REFUND TO COVER REPLACEMENT MOLDINGS Ismael is a nice guy, came out to my home same-day, and the windshield install itself was perfect for a good price. However, my car has windshield moldings on each side that must be removed, and when he removed them he broke over half the tabs so they would no longer stay in. I lost one after driving on the freeway, and the other is loose and I keep having to push it back into place. I tried negotiating with Ismael to provide replacement moldings and install them, but for over a month he gave me the run-around. So I had to buy my own moldings and install them, and now I am forced to work with my credit card company to recover the cost from Moran's Auto Glass. I am only asking for the cost of the moldings I purchased, nothing more, but sadly Ismael never delivered after several attempts where I always had to initiate the conversation. The whole incident makes me upset just typing this now, as it has been a lot of effort and hassle. read more

The free mobile service is a huuuuge bonus service, especially when you have a broken window or windshield. No show, no call back- two days in a row...I called Moran's and left a voicemail for a windshield replacement. He promptly called me back and asked me a few questions about my vehicle; he also had me take a picture of my windshield and send it to him. I have a Toyota Highlander Hybrid with lane departure and rain sensor. He said there are several windshields. He still quoted me $378 which I though was a deal. We set up an appointment for the next day from 3-5. On the day of the appointment he didn't show up. I waited hours and nothing- no call, no text. I called him and he didn't answer. I sent him a message and asked what happened? He said he would take care of me so I told him my availability and asked if he could come the next day. He replied with a simple yes. The next day he sent me a text at 9:30 am saying he was on his way. Then sends another message saying sorry wrong number. I ask him if he is coming and if he can give me a time so I can go about my day and handle appointments. He then sends me a message hours later saying something came up and he has been unable to work. I was not upset, I responded by telling him I understand and asked him if he could come next week. He said he would take care of me but 5 days later I haven't heard back. I contacted several other windshield companies and they all advised my car needed to be taken into a shop to be re-calibrated. If not done properly it could be dangerous and I'd be going to the dealer if a repair was needed. This is something Ismael never mentioned to me. Also, if this is why he didn't show up, the proper thing to do was tell me he quoted me a wrong price and that he couldn't do it. Simple. He was not professional and wasted my time. read more
