I called on a Friday afternoon and had my windshield on my Ford Expedition done Monday morning. The guys worked so hard and did such a great job installing. So pleasant and professional, on time, and called when they arrived to let me know they were out front. So simple! As it turned out, driving the car in bright sunlight uncovered two tiny inch long scratches. Not deep, not easy to see except when the bright sunlight hit them directly. I felt so silly calling back in to mention it except they were on the drivers side. I found them distracting and my newbie drivers (twins with permits) thought I was nuts. They didn't see anything until they drove to baseball practice and mentioned the glare from the tiny little scratch too.. I called back and was setting up a time to come back out and look. I figured there was a spray (or baking soda solution etc) that could take light scratches out. They were so accommodating. I felt silly asking so said I could drive over as we live nearby. When I did, they tried spray, but it didn't go away. They ordered a new window and came out again to my home promptly to repair. No complaints, no excuses, just good ole customer service and friendly as can be. I'm embarrased to say I don't have the name of the gentleman that was so informative and helpful. He explained the different glues for different cars, treatments etc. Just a wealth of information I would trust any car to them. Don't trust your cars/trucks to just any chain windshield company. I would recommend RC Auto Glass in Livermore for any vehicle, even my Audi or other cars. Request your insurance to use them. It took a 5 min phone call to get State Farm to cover my windshield with $0 copay even though their website sent me to a different company. So worth it. He said my Durango's broken and sandblasted windshield should be covered under my policies deductible. It took me several months to visit Perfection Glass in Pleasanton but when I did his wife Lori in the office contacted my insurances Glass division and together we explained the damage to my windshield. My husband was quoted $399 through text for the windows, but the windshield price was never discussed. We accept responsibility for not confirming that beforehand. However, when I arrived, the total was suddenly $600. Had we known the full price, we likely would have chosen one of the other shops that quoted us less. The biggest issue was the lack of communication. We were originally told the job would take a couple of hours and later told it would be completed before the shop closed at 7:00 p.m. By 6:30 p.m., we still had not received an update, so we drove there and learned he was waiting for a package. He never clearly explained that he did not have the 70% film needed for the windshield and front windows. Had we known, we would have picked up the vehicle and returned another day. We went back around 8:30 p.m. because we needed to put our young daughter to bed and were not comfortable leaving our car overnight. The shop lights were off, and no one was there. After my husband called, the owner came out of his house, turned the lights back on, and resumed working. Our vehicle was finally completed around 9:30 p.m.--11 hours after we dropped it off. We received no discount and were then informed that there was no warranty on the tint. My husband was told the bubbles would disappear, but the following day, we noticed even more bubbles on several windows. We understand tint needs time to cure, but we are very disappointed with the quality and now have to take our brand-new vehicle to another shop to have the tint inspected and corrected. Considering the poor workmanship, 11-hour delay, lack of communication, no warranty, and the additional expense of having another shop fix the tint, we believe some type of refund is more than reasonable.
