Came here in search of replacement parts (a tub drain strainer, sink stopper's and the flange to go with). I figured that since they are well stocked and come well recommended that it would be a one-stop shop however I was mistaken. They seem to be focused primarily on new fixtures rather than provide service for existing sinks/toilets/showers etc.. Naturally they took a look at the parts I brought with, answered some simple questions and gave me two recommendations for other places to go, but I left desiring more from Moran Supply. read more

This IS a store that caters primarily to building professionals. If you walk in in Dickies and have dirt under your fingernails, you'll probably be treated better than if you pull up in your Range Rover and stroll in in your Dockers and Merrells, looking for a cartridge for your Made-in-China, Euro-branded $900 faucet. They do know their stuff and will do their best to find what you need if you know what you need and don't waste their time or have an attitude. read more

This was such a helpful place... and while I was there with a contractor, I think he would have given me the discount anyway! There selection is great, the staff is extremely knowledgeable and patient. Rich helped, and I valued that he offered his opinion -- especially considering my goal was to save money. He told me how, helped me think about design consistency versus cost versus quality. Wow. And for the prices, they are comparable to Home Depot with the discount. The high level of service is well worth the $5 more per item I spent (if I even spent that, and I don't think I did)! He was able to talk to me about code changes, and little things I'd need to worry about. Do you think you get that at the mega-store? They had everything in stock that I needed - I was outta there in 30 minutes, with everything. I have no experience with plumbing​ but this is where my plumber told me to go to get the supplies needed for my new bathroom. I had the best possible help and advice from Richard. After I showed him the set up from a foto, he told me what I needed, looked to make sure the supplies would be available, phoned various places and eventually placed the order. I was worried about delays in the arrival time but everything came in, some of the material even ahead of time. I would recommend this place for not just plumbers, but for plumbing ignorant women like me who needed and received outstanding advice and help! read more

I went in with a question and perhaps to buy some parts for my older toilets. I showed the man there photos of my toilets to give him an idea of what I needed. He brought out some parts and said "i'm not trying to sell you these, I'm just showing you what I think you need". He didn't want me to buy them because they were not returnable and he wasn't certain if I needed them or if they would work with my toilets. My old water heater needed to make it 6 more months until our remodel, but alas, it is no more. I stopped by Moran Supply with my very handy neighbor and picked up everything I needed to replace the old one (truthfully my neighbor did most of the work and I awkwardly helped). The staff was very friendly and helpful with all of my questions, and their pricing was better to anything I saw from the large retailers. Rich was especially helpful and patient. I've been going to Moran for years for plumbing parts and they've always been terrific. I've had excellent customer service! For example, my soap dispenser recently broke and the head on one faucet cracked. They sold me a replacement soap dispenser but suggested I call the company and ask for a replacement and gave me the number. The company said they would mail me a new one and Moran gave me my money back. They looked up the part I needed for the head of my faucet. gave me the phone number for the company. They said they could order it for me but suggested I call and see if the Hansgrohe would send me a new one. They are!! Helen D read more

I went to Moran to buy a replacement hose for my handheld shower because my contractor recommended them back when we had remodeled my bathroom. I told them I needed the longest available and they assured me this one was. The sold me an outrageously expensive 60" hose ($134. 72 + tax) that turned out to be significantly shorter than the old one. On line I found 2 longer hoses (72" & 80" if memory serves), both cost less than the hose Moran sold me. An email complaint has not been responded to. I do not recommend them as a trustworthy, reliable, knowledgeable company. read more

Most of the time if you have a question, you can call them from the field with your situation and have them give you feedback and information. Their prices on things are fair, and they have a good selection of tools and mid to high end plumbing fixtures. They always go out of their way to help and provide information. On the advice of my contractor, I went to Moran Supply to purchase a shower valve for a condo remodel. They recommended a Kohler shower valve. I purchased the valve and then gave it to my contractor to install. My contractor gave it back to me and told me that it was defective. I brought it back to Moran and told them that it was defective. They told me that I had to return it directly to Kohler and that they offered no refunds. They then suggested that my contractor broke the shower valve. When I told this to my contractor, he adamantly denied breaking the valve. I've never heard of a store that sells you a defective product then refuses to allow you to return it and tells you to send it back to the manufacturer. read more

The employees at Moran Supply go out of their way to be unpleasant and unhelpful if you did not buy your fixtures or parts from them. I called Moran Supply to inquire if they sold plumbing fittings, which I needed to install a faucet. I specifically needed a 3/4" compression nut, standard. They confirmed that they carried the piece, so I drove there during my lunch break. I entered with my faucet, to check the fit. Inside the store, I was told that they do not have fittings for me. When I told them I had called, they said that if I had not bought my faucet off the internet, they would help me; however, they did not want to sell me the fitting. While I want to support a local business, I feel like it is my duty to steer anyone away from Moran Supply. I would also give zero stars, but one star is the lowest option. read more

I had to order two expensive fixtures for my boss' home and have them delivered and installed before they returned from vacation. I spoke to Andrew who helped me find the correct faucets. Andrew's supplier had one faucet in stock and was able to get it to me in 2 days. Unfortunately, Andrew had no luck finding the second faucet, but directed me to an online supplier who had it and was able to ship it to me quickly. Andrew lost the sale on the 2nd faucet, but he saved me time and was able to assist me in getting what I needed fast. I will always call Moran Supply first. read more

We ordered bathroom medicine cabinets from Moran's and waited for three months to receive them. Each time I'd call there'd be further delays. But finally they came in. And the color wasn't what we ordered. It was a special order product from Kohler, and Moran's policy is no returns on special orders. But I felt that the mistake was theirs and they should make it right and take it back. (I was told we'd wait another 2 months to exchange for the correct item, and preferred to order online and have it sooner). Not only did the owner suggest that the mis-order was my husband's mistake rather than his clerk's, he suggested to me that he deal "with my husband." So infuriating. Ultimately, they did make the return, but not before I was shaking, insulted and sitting in my car in tears of frustration. (I'm not surprised to see others comment here about sexism and poor service). Wouldn't it be better business to treat your customers with respect and kindness? I guess they don't have to care about regular homeowners since they mainly deal with contractors. read more

Moran Supply is overpriced. And the service sucks if all you want is a repair part. As they are Kohler distributor, I expected they'd have stems in stock for a Kohler faucet. I showed the counter man the model number, but without even bothering to look it up he told me that they couldn't possibly stock parts for everything Kohler ever made, and that he couldn't help me. The faucet is just 15 years old. This is the last time, l will never go there again. read more

Thought I would update, had to visit their store again because one of the new(ish) toilets I bought last year started leaking. Went in to see Ron or Rich, was told Ron retired and Rich was off. Told a guy I bought all my plumbing there and the toilet leaked. He said I needed a receipt or the model number. I askt him if he could just look it up under my name, and he fiddled around a long while and finally told me no he couldnt find it, I would have to came back with the information. I says I can show him the model in the showroom, he said it wouldnt help, too many changes in it??I guess I will have to come back later. Its hard when you work and they are only open weekdays and close so early. So next day I call and talk with Rich. He finds my order in the computer right away! I tell him I cant get in there. he says why dont I just call Kohler and have them send me one under warranty. Rich said its only the flapper went bad from chlorine, gave me the model number for the part. Guess what, they did, I had it here in under a week for free! thanks to Rich! Sorry only 4 stars this time cause the first guy I spoke with wasnt so great. read more

Purchased a rough-in valve for a shower. They sold me one that has temperature control only, no volume control. Why did they not mention this to me? Really frustrating. I do not look like a contractor, and Moran's gives non-contractors attitude. Take your business elsewhere. read more

On June 7th I went to Moran's and ordered a Kohler Memoirs single hole pedestal along with a Kohler Cimarron single hole pedestal sink, both in biscuit to match and existing toilets in the bathrooms I am remodeling. Because it was a special order I had to PAY IN FULL for my sinks which cost $695.00. My order was processed by Andrew Moran the owner. He told me it would be 2-3 weeks until delivery. That was perfectly fine with me because my remodel was not going to start until July 5th or 12th. (WEEK 4) I called Moran's on the 5th to check on my order. I was told that the base for the Memoirs and the basin for the Cimarron sink had come in. I asked when the other 2 items would be in and was told another 1-2 weeks. I was still okay with that. (WEEK 5) On the 12th of July I called to check. I spoke to Mr. Moran and told him I need the Memoirs sink ASAP because that was going into the bathroom for my son, his wife and my 2yr old grand-daughter. That they were moving back to California and would be in on August 2nd. He said he would check with Kohler regarding the order. I did not hear back from Mr. Moran the rest of the week. (WEEK 6) I called and spoke to Mr. Moran on the 19th of July. He said the order would take another 2-3 weeks. I reminded him of my dilemma and asked if we could expedite the order. He told me if I wanted it sooner I would have to pay 20% more ($140). I told him I PAID IN FULL already and was told 2-3 weeks and it was now 6 weeks and counting. He said there was nothing he could do. I got off the phone with him and called Kohler myself. They advised that if an item is out of stock it is only a 17 day turnaround for them to fill the order since they make items here in the US. I called Mr. Moran back and told him of my conversation with Kohler and he only wanted to know who I spoke to. (WEEK 7) 26TH July, I went in to Moran Supply to check on my order and met with Mr. Moran. I was told the Cimarron was in and still no word on the Memoirs basin. I asked again when it would be in because the family would be in, in a few days. I got the standard 1-2 week answer AGAIN. I took the Cimarron sink and went home. When I got home I called Kohler again. This time I spoke to Cheryl who is the rep that handles orders for Moran Supply. She advised that my sink had been shipped to Moran's distribution center the 2nd week of July and that he doesn't ship from his distribution center until he has a full truck. My husband then called Mr. Moran and told him of the conversation with Cheryl. He asked if the sink could be pulled from the distribution center and shipped to us. Mr. Moran said it would cost him to much to pull it and ship separately. (WEEK 8) 2ND August, I called again, spoke to Mr. Moran, got the 2-3 weeks this time, that he would call Kohler to check. I hung up and my husband called back and spoke to Mr. Moran. He reminded him that we had already spoken to Cheryl and the sink was at his distribution. Told him calling Kohler was not going to make a difference. (WEEK 9) JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH Mr. Moran. Said he is calling Kohler again and would call me by tomorrow 10:00 am. Said he has not gotten an order in 5 weeks. My bathroom is complete with no sink. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! Never offered to return my money, give me a discount for the inconvenience, or even offer me a temporary sink until mine came in. Mr. Moran's only solution was for me to take a 3 hole sink instead of the single hole sink I ordered. He told me I could take back my faucet and get one to fit his sink. I reminded him again that I have a 2 yr old Grand-Daughter I don't want getting burned by accidentally turning on the hot handle of a 3 hole faucet with separate hot 7 cold controls. (WEEK 10) STILL DON'T HAVE MY BASIN! WORSE EXPERIENCE EVER! read more

Our plumber Ray Triola suggested Moran Plumbing for fixture replacements. They stock most of what's on display in the showroom, making it a great place to go if you want to walk out with the parts in hand the same day. The place is pragmatic in the sense that their prices are fair for quality materials and their staff is knowledgeable and proud of the products they sell. After my initial purchase, I would have given them a very favorable review---helpful, knowledgable, etc. I spent over $2000 with them and was planning to spend a lot more. However, then it turned out one faucet I ordered was too big for the space and I asked if I could return it (and would have been exchanging it for an even more expensive one). They said absolutely no returns, no way. Really? In this economy, no flexibility whatsoever? The faucet I was exchanging was in perfect condition, in it's original packaging, never even installed or used. They claimed that the vendor (Kohler) will not take it back. They even told me that if you buy something off of their shelf they won't take it back because their inventory system makes it too expensive to return anything. Finally after much complaining to them they very reluctantly and rudely took it back, but charged me a very hefty "restocking" fee. They claim that all plumbing places have this policy. Not true. After this experience I am now shopping at the Sink Factory in Berkeley (Ragnar is an amazing businessman, and very customer service oriented and Ashby Lumber. ) I will not buy from Moran any longer. I'm just so disappointed that after spending that much money, they would be so difficult. And again in this economy how can you stay in business like that. read more
