Sampler #2
Kevin D.

A good little restaurant, with nothing special. Once again, on the hunt for diamonds in the rough. This place is next to a little breakfast spot I enjoyed, and we wanted to get some tacos. Place is unassuming, sign is clear but the plaza is a bit in shambles. Once inside, it's significantly cleaner and designed. Server was prompt, but there wasn't many people dining in. The girlfriend got tacos, and I got the sampler platter so I could get her to try some fried yucca. We also got an elote, because I'm a glutton for punishment and wanted to be disappointed again. Took a little while for food to come out, but the server was nice and kept water refilled. Once we got food, we started trying things. The chips provided for the table were generic but the salsa was watery and weak. The tacos were good, the chorizo was the best one. Good spice, not that much filler. The sampler was okay. The fried pork was crispy but tender. The Chipotle mayo was mayo. No spice, just mayo. Rice was cooked in Sayzon, but no flavor. The yucca was cooked well and crispy, not sure about the random salad. Onion rings were good though. Overall, it's not special food but totally fine and functional food. It's a good choice if you're looking for a quick bite to eat, just don't expect great.

This is a place you wouldn't expect to have such good food - but wow!! Well done. Walking in - you are not sure what to expect, Definitely set-up for more of a to-go setting, however when we asked to dine-in they were happy to have us take a seat in the dining room. Staff was attentive and friendly, restaurant was clean and organized. The amount of food the kitchen was sending out for pickup orders was insane! Yet our food still came out in a timely manner. We ordered fried pork, Birria tacos, chorizo taco, and street corn. Everything was fresh and delicious. Portion sizes were huge and pricing was not. Will definitely come back when I need my taco fix!!!

I had heard about this little restaurant, driven by it twice, eaten in it's former life and finally succumbing to my pupusa attack had a great meal. Morán Restaurant in the outskirts of Manchester is the place to go for Salvadoran food. These pupusas were essentially a thick griddle cake made with cornmeal flour and in El Salvador are considered the national dish. Started with a complimentary basket of chips and great salsa. I ordered an ice cold Maracuya [passion fruit/parcha] which is one of my favorites. My order consisted of three pupusas filled with minced beef and quesillo cheese. They had just been perfectly made with excellent grilling...delicious and filling. The plate was accompanied with a little serving of tangy coleslaw [jalapeño] and a dipping sauce [not the salsa roja]. All in all it was very comforting! Service was personal. I ordered in Spanish but all front of the house personnel were Spanish/English speaking. A very homey place to sit and enjoy some good food.

Delicious food, great portions and decent prices. We truly enjoyed our visit to this newly opened restaurant. Service was excellent. Food came out quickly. My son declared that we could definitely come back. In the world of picky kids that is a big win. The casual and comfy atmosphere is great for all.

El Salvadoran food at its yummiest. Platano Fritos is listed as an appetizer...I would definitely re-label to dessert! Delightful fried plantain creamy pudding w/ notes of vanilla. Ordered Steak fajita and Veggie Fajita. Wish I'd taken video so you can hear the sizzling greatness. Both were outstanding Veggie Fajita was DELISH! FRESH fried potato lined bottom as crispy cushioned potato wedges. ALL sauces included. My FAV Red!! For sure! Heat sneaks over your tongue w/ sweetness. A must visit again to keep dipping into their menu! Join Me!! Non-pretentious soft family goodness. Felt at home but with much BETTER cooking, it'll be a FAV for you too I'm sure...

Maracuya

Bang bang chicken was the best thing I had here. It was full of coconut flavor. Pastelitos de platano, or ripe plantains stuffed with cheese and fried was a good appetizer to try. Bean and cheese papusa was ok. Steak burrito was food as well. Maracuya juice was good but felt diluted. Horchetta was better though.

This is a hidden gem. Can not recommend highly enough. House special combination was a huge portion with a variety of meat and sides. Yuca and pork was a shareable app. Salad was better than most I've had for a whole lot more $$$. Overall a delight. Attentive service and clean comfortable space.

Birria tacos

I'll be honest. I didn't have high expectations once I looked through the menu because they have plates from Salvador, Colombia, Mexico, and some American food. I get suspicious when I see such an array in one place. But, despite my reservations, I ordered the birria tacos and they were good. Had good flavor to them. Hubby got the santaneco plate and he said he was pleased with it. The service was friendly.

I was craving Spanish food and came across this spot after a quick Yelp search. I was specifically looking for something less mainstream and definitely not a chain. This was definitely a hole in the wall kind of spot & had a family style vibe. The lady behind the counter and her family in the back were super friendly. The food was made to order and piping hot. The food was tasty, light (did not make you grossly heavy), and flavorful! I would definitely come back when I'm craving this kind of meal! Highly recommend!

We had the birria tacos, beef tacos, Al pastor tacos, the queso and chips and churros. All of the meals came with a little portion of salsa too which was perfect I will say the queso did not seem like it came from the restaurant, but instead like a velvety. Still enjoyable. The tacos were pretty cold when they arrived, but I don't fault the restaurant and the beef tacos were supposed to be crunchy, but again everything tasted perfect. The highlight of this order was for sure the churros. They were so delicious. Not warm at all but so so good. My friend who doesn't like churros and thinks they're dry, absolutely loved these because of the filling and the chewiness. Divine. I would come back just for those. And next time, I would eat in the restaurant itself as the delivery made everything a tad less fulfilling. All in all, I will be back. Thank you Three Amigos!!!

Very basic Mexican fare…read more I've sworn I've written a review for this place. Eh, all well. I use this place as a barometer for Mexican food. What you get here is the bare bones stock version of Mexican cuisine. Not bad, but usually with lots of cut corners and inferior quality dishes. It's not that they don't try. They do season their microwaved rice and doctor up their cans of refried beans to bring some flavor to the mix. Their chips are warmed and their salsa has some extra spice added in. It's the type of Mexican cuisine suitable for the older generation. Not offensive, basic flavors and comfortable. The price point reflects this, and it's relatively affordable for what you get. This isn't a place I go to expecting great food. This place I go to for that one step above a fast food taco place, and it meets those expectations. If you need a place to take a family to, or you have parents and want to get them something they can handle spice wise, then this place works.
