Thankful Morán is close by cause it's my one stop for delicious mexican/salvadorian food. The moran taco platter is great price for the amount if you like a wide variety of proteins. This place has some of the sweetest, juiciest, ripest plantains around. Churros are sweet, crispy, not overly oily, filled with a delicious dulce filling. The girlfriend got tacos, and I got the sampler platter so I could get her to try some fried yucca. We also got an elote, because I'm a glutton for punishment and wanted to be disappointed again. Took a little while for food to come out, but the server was nice and kept water refilled. Once we got food, we started trying things. The chips provided for the table were generic but the salsa was watery and weak. The tacos were good, the chorizo was the best one. Good spice, not that much filler. The sampler was okay. The fried pork was crispy but tender. The Chipotle mayo was mayo. No spice, just mayo. Rice was cooked in Sayzon, but no flavor. The yucca was cooked well and crispy, not sure about the random salad. Walking in - you are not sure what to expect, Definitely set-up for more of a to-go setting, however when we asked to dine-in they were happy to have us take a seat in the dining room. I had heard about this little restaurant, driven by it twice, eaten in it's former life and finally succumbing to my pupusa attack had a great meal. Morán Restaurant in the outskirts of Manchester is the place to go for Salvadoran food. These pupusas were essentially a thick griddle cake made with cornmeal flour and in El Salvador are considered the national dish. Started with a complimentary basket of chips and great salsa. I ordered an ice cold Maracuya [passion fruit/parcha] which is one of my favorites. My order consisted of three pupusas filled with minced beef and quesillo cheese. They had just been perfectly made with excellent grilling...delicious and filling. The plate was accompanied with a little serving of tangy coleslaw [jalapeño] and a dipping sauce [not the salsa roja]. All in all it was very comforting! Service was personal. Was looking for something Latin American but in Manchester, on a Monday, there's not much open. Found this place by driving aimlessly around and so glad I did! I had the birria tacos which were fresh tasting and not heavy or greasy like some I have had from taco trucks and the like. The tortilla is lightly griddled, just right, and the dipping sauce is pretty delightful. The accompanying rice is nice and fluffy, perfecting for sopping up the rest of the dipping sauce. The owners are super helpful and friendly, and when I couldn't choose between the mango lemonade and the maracuya (passionfruit) she let me sample both. Both are really refreshing. I will definitely be back to try some of the pupusas (essentially corn cakes stuffed with a variety of ingredients, including the birria version). Yum! read more

Cant believe I haven't finished the review for this place. I work right around the corner and can't count how many times we've ordered from this unassuming plaza restaurant. I have many auditors from several customers come in regularly and I always suggest ordering from Moran. It is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Manchester (the other being Champa Lao which is very close by- seriously go check out both of these family run establishments). The papusas here are amazing. Granted this is the first place I've tried a papusa... but the slaw and spicy salsa that comes with it is amazing and fresh. The pork and cheese are my favorite. They come hot and melted, a little charred and oh so wonderful. I love the plantains, the Burria tacos, the chicharon. Seriously everything here is great. The service is kind and prompt. Stopped in the other night after just finding out about this restaurant. Seating was not a problem with plenty of tables open. Waitress was very friendly and greeted us right away. Very nice choices on the menu and all are fair priced. Food was hot and tasty. Calamari was cooked just right. Sample menu number two was a good choice to taste a variety. Fried pork was very fresh, cooked perfectly, and bite size. Yucca was "de-veined" which was a pleasant surprise. Most places leave the hard spine attached. Nicely done. Rice was a jasmine rice which was a nice change from the standard generic rice places use. Only the wait time from order to table was a bit long seeing how there was only one other table. I feel they were concentrating on Togo orders. In-house customer always takes precedent over Togo. Togo is already waiting. In-house may never come back if made to wait. Took two close friends to lunch here today. Big Hit! The portions are ginormoys, and so fresh. I enjoy the casual, simple atmosphere, no blaring music or tv. I took a hefty take out box home. Great value and delicious food, 5 minutes away. It's not fair for me to rate this place because I haven't actually eaten their food. Website indicated it was open. Placed an order for pick up. Update!!! Went here for dinner last night and dined in! Best experience ever. I loved the environment, basic but colorful. It is byob ans with the liquor store right next door is was pretty convient. We were a group of 7, ordered an app, drinks, and dinner and was still only $100 bucks! When we arrive they brought out a complimentary basket of chips and salsa which the kids ate right up! Dinners we ordered were, the taco salad, Mac & cheese, chicken fingers and fries, quesadilla, quesobarria and fish dinner ( which was actually a whole fish, not prepackaged fish)! We were all very satisfied with our meals and the wait staff was amazing everything we needed she was very helpful, included when we bought beers and needed an opener. Just go, you won't regret it. I'm amazed this restaurant doesn't have more Yelp reviews. I discovered them a couple months ago and everything I've eaten has been delicious. I've had the puposas, burritos, quesadillas, bacon cheese fries, and churros so far and everything is made with fresh ingredients. The carnitas burrito is a favorite and warms up well the next day if you have leftovers. Even the kid meals come with a decent amount of food. I have zero complaints and hope they stick around a long time in Manchester. read more
