But with so many people ordering through DoorDash to their jobs or other places, there's often no bowl available. It would be a much better experience if the noodles and toppings were packaged in a large bowl instead. They also didn't include any utensils or chopsticks. Thankfully, I keep a pair in my purse, but I shouldn't have to. The oxtails looked dry and were nowhere near as tender as I expected. The broth was the biggest letdown. It was overly salty and tasted like plain beef broth rather than a true Vietnamese pho broth. It was missing the rich, slow-simmered flavor and the aromatic spices like star anise, cinnamon, cloves, and roasted herbs that give pho its signature taste. It honestly tasted like store-bought broth instead of something made from scratch. I almost ordered the banh mi too, but decided to go with the highly recommended oxtail pho. Based on this experience, I'm glad I didn't spend even more money. Maybe I'm being a little harsh because I'm sick and was really craving a comforting bowl of pho. I also have to take some responsibility because I didn't stick with the place I normally order from. I wanted to try something new, and this one just wasn't for me.
