Today I tried the Hot Bacon Jam burger with double patties. It comes with Angus beef smashed,grilled jalapeños,pepper Jack cheese (substituted),bacon,bacon jam spread and their oh so soft and fluffy potato bun. I'm used to spicy foods and thought this burger was mildly spicy but it did make me break a couple sweat beads half way through. The meat was moist and perfectly cooked and this was one very tasty well put together burger. Their shareable size fries is plenty for 2 people. They also offer sweet potato fries and house made potato chips. I highly recommend their green chile queso to dip some of your fries or even drip over your burger of choice. Their spicy ranch gets a honorable mention as something different too. Check out their menu as they offer their burgers in vegan style,paleo style,,and keto style. They offer turkey and black bean patties. Want a Hebrew hot dog? They have those too. For the sweet tooth's check out their shakes and cookies. But they came out and told me they were out of spicy Quesonario sauce. So I got pepperkack instead. Good, but not as spicy as I had hoped. The Well D'Onion also sounded promising, but they ran out of onion rings. Plenty of raw onions though. I guess the rings come from the factory prebattered. Mooyah is a nice addition to the burger society in North County. The food is delish and after trying it, I looked it up and saw that they are a chain. Fresh food and huge portions. The individual fry is plenty for 2 people. The coffee shake is on point! I LOVE the app. You should use it even if it is your first time. My only "beef" with this place is the layout. The register is too close to the front door. So if you are driving by you may see a Ine out the door but that is because only one couple can fit inside when ordering. It's annoying because the door is constantly open (when dining in its rough) and you can't get to the side otherwise. If there is a table outside, just grab it because inside doesn't work with the layout. Overall, delicious. The service is unbeatable. Manager table touching every visit. Third time, when my husband asked if the mushrooms were cooked with oil on the grill (my husbands dietary requirements had changed since the last time we were in and he wasn't consuming refined seed/plant oils). Stopped by here when I saw it as I waited for a prescription for my son at CVS. Ordered the double cheese burger no onions, fries, and a chocolate shake. Took no time at all and it was ready. I took it back to the condo for my son but sampled the fries and shake on the way. Both of these were great, if I had a criticism as a chocolate shake expert, I would advise to lay off the syrup a little, it bordered on too sweet/chocolatey, if that makes sense. Fries, absolutely perfect, cooked to perfection and fresh as they could get. My son loved the burger, said it had great flavor and he would love to do it again next time we are in the area. I got the HOT BACON JAM (1/4 lb beef patty, grilled jalapeno, cheddar cheese, bacon, and hot bacon jam). like I said, anticlimactic. I appreciate they hand-cut their fries. can't say I miss that chemical aftertaste that comes with fries that go from freezer to fryer. however, their potatoes were NOT aged properly so the starch-to-sugar ratio was way off. the fries browned without getting crispy, and soggy fries are a bummer. their signature potato buns are pillowy soft, and since the burgers are slider-sized, they hold up pretty well. although I have no personal experience, I'm skeptical they'd travel. suggest you dine-in. Burgers are smallish and pretty bland - the basic needs some additional condiment like pickle, mustard, etc. The buns are probably the best burger bun I have ever had! The fries (not sweet potato) however, were terrible. Came out burned and limp. They said something about the fryer not being right so I asked for a new batch, and they were only slightly better. 9 times out of 10, I'm usually in step with many of the reviews I see for a restaurant. But, every once in a while, my experience just doesn't match up with what every one else is raving about after eating much of the same stuff. And I'm forced to ask myself, is it just me that isn't appreciating what's in front of me? Anyway, MOOYAH was just okay. Listing off the great side of things first, their buns are made in house and were delicious. Sweet, very soft, but still holding their shape and integrity while eating, this is how a hamburger bun is supposed to be and MOOYAH should consider themselves masters of that art. The fries as well are pretty excellent. Hand-cut, thick, and cooked to a hot and soft limpness (which I don't mind) that that size of fry cooks to. Not too salty, a hint of sweet and smokiness from the burn, they're a pretty good diner fry. The burgers, though ... they're very small for the price, quarter pounders cooked thin without being smashed, so they have a McDonald's / Jack-in-the-Box style and taste to them; that's not a bad thing, just an observation that you can pretty much get the same amount of food with similar flavor and quality for half the cost elsewhere. I got their MOOYAH cheeseburger, which was a basic California style burger and was a bit bland and boring. After eating, it left me wishing I had gotten either the Cheddar Bacon BBQ or had made my own. My 11 year old opted for the Bacon Cheeseburger. This suffered from the same kind of patty and was topped by very thin, dry, and crumbly strips of bacon, leading me to think that they were bought pre-cooked and warmed as opposed to frying their own. He had little to say one way or the other after eating it. In the end, I had paid over $25 for two small hamburgers, one fry, and a drink. I'll probably come back and try something else on the menu, possibly get a shake, but right now it's tough to justify the cost considering the quality and amount you get so far. read more

Finally stopped by after walking past Mooyah like a dozen times on my way to Vons. The high ratings made me feel like I was definitely missing out on something! Service: The first thing you'll notice, I guarantee, is the service. Everyone is very friendly. The owner, I believe, was visiting nearly all tables, checking in with everyone. Ambiance: Outside eating area is next to a parking lot--not what I call a "vibe," haha. The inside is very small. It feels like a typically fast casual restaurant. They must get busy, busy because they had self-ordering screens and a dedicated take-out window. Very clean. Food: It tastes like burgers you make at home (I think it's the cold buns and cold sauce). I got the Bacon Cheeseburger and it had a thin, non-crispy patty which was different than the smash-style I typically get nowadays. The hand cut fries are awesome and what you'd expect at Five Guys. Good portion. Loved the fries with ranch. Price: $17 for bacon cheeseburger, fries, and a drink. Maybe $2-3 more expensive than you'd expect. Overall: Unremarkable, but it no way bad. We got the bacon cheeseburger and mushroom burger.. both delicious and hit the spot. Doesn't come with pickles or onions, FYI if you prefer either/ both in your burger. I'm not huge on handcuf fries/ skin on.. so fries were mehhh for me. These burgers are on the $$$ side.. mine was $9 something and if you want to make it a combo, it's an additional $6.99 . The burger itself was way overcooked and completely dry. The bun had barely any sauce on it so the entire burger was dry And the onion strings that they put on. It were so old they must've been cooked this morning and just sat there all day, cold and old just like the bacon I'm not saying cook fresh bacon for every burger, but at least warm it up and make it crispy again and the onion strings or onion rings that you put on it. Definitely make those fresh it ruined the entire burger. The french fries Would've been amazing if they gave me all fresh ones half of the fries were old cold and soggy. There might've been seven fries that were actually cooked and somewhat warm definitely not hot and definitely not crispy.
