We enjoyed the Filet dinner cooked exactly how we like them by chef Kaydence! Her Key lime Creme brulee was one of the best desserts we've had. Our hostess Kennedy, was sweet and efficient. Dined with my family (a party of 7) here for brunch on Mother's Day. They're not usually open until 4pm, so it's nice that they opened earlier for a special day/weekend. We had booked the reservation a few weeks ahead of time, and it's a good thing we did because it was quite busy! This Wautoma-area supper club was pretty solid. We ordered the beer battered-mushrooms and a flatbread to start, and in true supper club fashion they also served dinner rolls before our meal was served. They had several options for seafood, burgers, sandwiches, salads and other entrees. The service was great. Our waitress was very attentive and understanding. Prime example: My grandma ordered broasted chicken thinking that it would be a type of cooking similar to broiling. (Turns out broasting is actually pressure frying!) Without debate, our server asked for a new entree for her on the fly in true Mother's Day fashion. My grandma loved the strawberry salad she had in the broiled chicken's place. Very busy when we went in this evening, we were seated directly under the moosehead. Wife ordered one of the chicken salads and I had the chicken sandwich with wild rice. My food came out 8 minutes before hers. There was barely any chicken on her salad and the chicken was cold. My sandwich was ok, I actual make better ones on my grill. The wild rice was sticky, I needed to use my knife to break it apart. Drove 50 miles for a meal that was mediocre at best. Their prices for steaks and ribs are more expensive than in Madison. Moose Inn Went here in 5/10/2024 around 1pm... Very nice place to go to. I went with my cousin and we both ordered burgers. She ordered hers with cheese. Mine came up a little rare and I just wanted some pink. Not a big deal, just had them out it back in the veil. We ordered up cheese curds. Normally they do appetizers for dinner but they made some up for us. They were very good. I got fries with my order. Very good, hot and fresh. My cousin got their homemade potato chips. My cousin and I shared and we both liked the chips or fries. I think we both got ice waters to drink. Service was great! This is a great place in Wautoma. They run some great specials for the dinner hour. They are very reasonably priced. Service is very good. Our server(s) We're awesome. Both people that were working kinda helped each other out with serving the good o answering questions about the menu. I needed to use the bathroom. It was clean. My daughter and her family really enjoyed in December they live in North Cape. However it wasn't a Friday & they had the other Menu. We were disappointed about that. Busy fish night or not! My food was good. However the plastic containers & " slop trays" not right or presentable. Use plates! The room so cramped & a party of 15 in the room so so loud!! Our Waitress was nice attentive and smiled. Ice Cream drink was hood, the Dove, however could hardly taste the booze?? We came for lunch. The burger I had ($9) was very basic, but decent. If you like it done medium, you may want to consider ordering it medium rare. It came with a side and I got the cup of clam chowder which made up for the lackluster burger. My wife had the BLTT, which has turkey on it. The steak was really good however I ordered a rib eye and that steak that they gave me was a New York. They insisted it was a ribeye but I know my steaks it definitely was a New York. I paid a lot more money for my steak and was given a cheaper one. However it was really good but it wasn't what I paid for. Lady with the unforgettable smile was so unpleasant, seemed completely overwhelmed, obviously had control issues and didn't work as a team to seat people. Food was meh. Cheese curds were delicious but the perch meal was not worth the price. My steamed vegetables were basically raw. Soup was ok. Perch breading was less than desirable. Liked the coleslaw type side. I love my fishfry! That being said, Moose Inn has some decent reviews about their fishfry. We decided to give it a try as a new place we hadn't been to before. Bad choice! The all you can eat deep fried fish was....yukky!! Very oily, thin soggy batter and small pieces. Came with fries or baked potato and a slice of rye bread. Also included was tarter sauce, and potato salad as well as red cole slaw. All of these came in plastic containers. Have had fishfrys throughout Wisconsin and this one would rank near the bottom of the list. I can only surmise that their following is very local and it is the best for the area. The dining room is in a separate room from the large and well appointed bar. The dining room lacked any sound deadening and any group of more than 4 patrons tended to overpower the room. In these days where parents haven't taught their kids that being the loudest in the room is NOT proper behavior in a civilized society. Ample parking in several areas. The place was clean and well appointed. The service was exceptional and was the highlight of the meal. Conveniently located right on State hy 21 East of Wautoma. I don't like writing bad reviews. Our first time here so they deserve a second visit. The old fashion didn't come with any cherries. But it tasted good. The menu listed steaks with no sizes and very little information. You can pick one side to go with your entree. I didn't understand that. You could pick vegetables. That shouldn't be an option at a place like that. I had wild rice. My steak and rice were very bland. Even the au jus was tasteless. So was my husband's. He ordered coleslaw ( which was good ) but it was red slaw and not what he expected. Again nothing on the menu u about what kind of coleslaw. Our waitress was the best. Very kind and answered all our questions. I would have loved to have an ice cream drink ( that they are known for ) but it was way too big for me. I wish they had a smaller sized one as well as the large. We ended up going to DQ after dinner for a small cone. Since we were visiting from out of town I don't know if we will get a chance to try the place again. I forgot to mention if you don't like seafood don't go here. They are PACKED this pleasant Friday evening, and they even have an outside bar with live music area for the overflow of patrons waiting to eat. Far less appealing was the shitty lady who had a four-person all to herself right by the entry door and had to light it up and smoke right by the door (outside). Why couldn't she flipping sit in the back 40 and kill herself there. Sigh. At a time when smoking hasn't been allowed in restaurants or bars for ten years in Wisconsin, it is still disappointing to see inconsiderate people. Smoke away, but not if your smoke comes inside where it isn't allowed. This won't impact my rating, but it did dampen the experience for me. The bar: some reviewers complained about the use of plastic cups. We saw both plastic and glass. Plastic was for folks taking their drinks outside, which makes perfect sense. Both of our drinks came "sneaky-strong." I say that because the bourbon in my old fashioned did not taste too strong, but as I neared the bottom of my glass I felt a "time warp" sensation as the booze kicked in. If we have any complaint, it is that drink list did not include prices and we would never have paid $12 for a margarita. And even though they used rail bourbon, they charged $6 for my old fashioned even though they said the price was $5. It was a great old fashioned, but I'll probably opt for tap beer next time. That means revenue loss. In addition, they have erected tents outside with an outside bar. This allows them to cater to patrons who might only want to listen to the provided About the wait - yes, there is a wait. But...when you talk to the hostess, they take your order and put you into the queue. We could have waited 45 minutes to an hour to sit down and have them take our order and to bring it a half hour later. Our buzzer went off after 1:05 and we sat down to our salad or chowder. Appetizers: The clam chowder was top-notch. My favorite chowder still hails from George's Steakhouse in Appleton. The clams were chewy but not rubbery. It was some pretty good chowder. So, to the food itself: These days, so many places have taken to using cheap rye bread that has rye "flavor" rather than actual caraway seeds to make their rye bread. Not so Moose Inn. Here, you get that tru rye flavor that only comes from actual caraway seeds. My only lament would be that they don't serve a marbled rye, but that is personal preference -not a knock against them. We had read reviews on Yelp where people complained about the restaurant using paper/styrofoam plates and plastic silverware. I'll just call BS on that. They had a nice, clean dining area with actual plates and silverware. The fish fry: The specials were clearly posted next to the hostess station. Unless I have heard terrible reviews, I always opt for perch. Some people complained about the small filets -and they were small - but I did not leave feeling hungry. My only complaint about the smaller filets was that three of them were so crunchy as to render parts of them unchewable. This can happen when you drop perch in tavern batter either in oil that is too hot or leave it in the fryer too long. Not a deal-breaker, but I really wanted to finish all of my perch. The gentleman at the table next to us received larger filets and they were not so dark, so I will know what it possible. Next time I will request larger filets. The server also forgot to bring tartar sauce to the table, but the waitress quickly remedied that when asked. My wife's jumbo shrimp also tasted terrific. We normally prefer beer-battered shrimp, but these still tasted great. The baked potato was cooked perfectly. A nice portion of sour cream allowed me to tailor the tang of my potato. read more

Actually just started going to this supper club about a year ago and it hasn't disappointed us yet. Tonight I ordered the Parmesan crusted salmon, and I usually don't order fish. It was amazing, probably the best fish I ever have tasted. It seemed marinated and the Parmesan crust on top was the perfect topping. One person in our group ordered the fish fry and said it was great, my husband had the perch and said they were wonderful along with the fries. Another person had the ribs and said he'd order them again in a heartbeat, although he wished the menu had a half rack option. Loved that the salads were on cold plates and they offer veggies as a side. The Friday night menus are downsized from their regular menus. My family and I are not locals in Wautoma, Wisconsin, but we stayed by John's Lake for a few weeks. During that time we tried just about every restaurant in town. The Moose Inn is by far the best place we went too, the service was awesome and the food was delicious. Personally, if you want to get a taste of their real menu, don't go on Friday! That's strictly reserved for family fish-fry, so their menu is different. Plus, they get packed! I had the duck with roasted vegetables and a glass of Trinity Oaks Chardonnay. Super good! The duck was not gamey at all, and the raspberry vinaigrette on top made the crispy skin taste that much better. I also had the shrimp cocktail appetizer, which was refreshingly delightful. 10/10 recommend the Moose Inn! They have lots of parking too. read more

Let me start out by saying I don't normally drive an hour for dinner, but you had me at Brandy Alexander! I've only heard amazing things about this place, well, it was ok. They didn't have any vegetarian meals on the menu, but the chef was kind enough to make me a pasta dish with fresh veggies. We also had the bloomin onion for the appitizer, and it was full of plenty of greese. I don't think they let it drain enough before they brought it out to us. I think we ordered a wide range of stuff from the menu. Everything from steak to fish to pasta to soup was ordered. I can't rave as much about the service. I will say this, we went over Memorial Day weekend. We were seated into a very tiny room with 5 other tables. There was only 1 waitress for the room with no bus boy. She was very busy and very overwhelmed. We never got refills on our drinks until our check was brought to us. It also seemed that everyone's checks where wrong and needed to be fixed. This place is your traditional supper club with an expanded menu. The atmosphere is cozy, one of the dining rooms even has a real fire place. It sticks with the cabin and moose theme. The larger of the dinging rooms was a little too loud for us. They accept reservations every night except for Friday's, so you could easily make a request for the smaller dining room if you wanted a more quiet experience. Service was good until we got our food, then the server seemed to forget about us. She didn't bring the second round of drinks we ordered and didn't check to see how the food was. It was a Saturday night, so the place was pretty busy. Food was great! We all shared the spinach artichoke wontons (pictured). I had the sirloin with side salad (homemade croutons) and au gratin potatoes. The bread basket came with pickled herring and horseradish cheese spread. The French fries and potatoes skins were also delicious. My dad loved his bleu moose, which was piled high with onion straws. Their menu could use some vegetarian options. I recommend going elsewhere. We have been coming here for years and it's definitely our last. First, our server just started off very rude with us. She even went as far as to basically throw the basket of bread onto our table. Second, my parents both ordered the short ribs which were the last if that tells you anything, they came out super stiff and basically had no meat. My husbands salmon came out cold as well as his side. I had a steak and it was very sub par. To boot the entire experience, the server comped my parents meal but not mine and my husbands even though he said it was cold. In fact he didn't even eat it. He just had some bread. Our server didn't even offer him to have anything else. Just didn't give crap. Go to Silvercryst just down the road. You will have a much better experience! read more

The setting and ambiance of the restaurant is very nice and quaint. I enjoyed the staff, the bartender and my server were very nice and enjoyable. The soup was delicious and very dense which I enjoyed. I had the clam chowder and it tasted like fresh clam. It took forever for our food to come out. Roughly 30 min after soup/salad which was about 40 min after we sat down. Our water wasn't refilled nearly enough. Normally I wouldn't notice it but I got thirsty. I had the steak and shrimp. The shrimp tasted prepackaged and too densely breaded. Also super greasy. Also the steak was under-seasoned and bland. The quality of meat was 100% and the medium rare was medium rare so yay. The fries were greasy but delicious. Nothing wrong there. Also this place isn't vegetarian friendly. My cousin wanted a grilled cheese like they've done before however the chef didn't want to I guess. Idk. So she had an average pasta with veggies. Didn't look super appealing to me.
