The service is just fine. I really like the dental assistants, but after 4 years, I will not be returning. My wife had cavities filled on three occasions. While I understand the estimate provided is just that, they were way off on our out of pocket expenses. All in all it was an extra$ $600 out of pocket over what it was supposed to be. We have Cigna Dental, and I am pretty sure they are consistent with what they are willing to reimburse. Somehow though, they can't figure this out at Mooring. My only conclusion is, they either charge way more than is the norm, or they are just really really bad at estimates. Since the actual service was fine, I still gave them 2 stars, even though they left a horrible taste in my mouth. read more

The office and staff are really awesome, they make you feel at home and comfortable, everyone is all smiles! I explained to them before I went in that I had VERY sensitive teeth and they had to be really gentle cleaning them. I told them how my previous dentist did everything and how I didn't have ANY pain. When I had the cleaning things didn't work out so good, I had some pretty bad pain and it happened about three times. I'm going to give them another try and hope it's just them needing to learn my teeth and issues. The major problem was the same spot was hit about three times, so we will see how things go next time. If you're looking for a very thorough dental office, this is the place to go. My family (minus me) had been going to Mooring and Mooring for years. When I changed jobs and found myself working local everyday I thought it would be a good time to switch over to M&M. After my first visit, I realized that my former dentist had not been showing me in detail and explaining potential issues that I might development in the near future. M&M uses vision systems so that patients can see what's going on and they explain it in simple terms for clueless people like me that are not in the dental industry. I may have to a pay a little out of pocket because they aren't contracted with any dental insurance but I only have one set of teeth and I feel like they may last longer with M&M taking care of them. I've been going here for about 2 years. Even though they've only seen me a few times they always remember me, my husband, and ask about my baby. They are thorough and kind and do awesome work. Today at a cleaning they noticed a very minor chip on my bottom front tooth and asked if I would like it polished so it wouldn't be as noticeable. It had been driving me up a wall for ages so of course I said yes! It's so much better than it was and I really appreciated them taking extra time to resolve it for me. I've never been surprised by the cost, they've always been up front with what was likely to be covered and that it was only an estimate, it may not be right. They've also legitimately inspired me to take better care of my teeth, something no other dentist had been able to do in the past. I went here once and they had no compassion for people with dental phobia. I was told not to be such a baby. No sedation, no gas, just large needles and very loud drills. They were also extremely expensive. Luckily I found a caring compasionate dentist. They do have a very nice office with great equipment, maybe thats why its so expensive. read more

I don't like going to the dentist, not even a little bit, but these guys are good. The staff is friendly, courteous, and professional, and the practitioners are skilled and sensitive to your needs as a patient. One additional feature that Mooring offers you as a new patient, they take the time to show you around their facility before you sit in the chair. For whatever reason, this made me feel more comfortable as a new patient. For the first time in a long time, I don't mind going to the dentist. read more

I was referred to Dr. Mooring and was scheduled for a root canal. In the middle of the procedure, he walked away numerous times and I had to receive additional numbing medication because he was away so long. He also has absolutely zero personality and doesn't seem to appreciate his customers. I visited Mooring Dental today for the first time. This was the most thorough, comprehensive dental exam I have ever had! I had an initial exam/consultation/cleaning which included extensive x-rays, examination of each tooth with a laser that determines the extent of decay, photos and many other things that I can't even remember. I was seen by Dr Sean and he was very nice and explained all of the things that he was doing. He has a very proactive approach to dental care. I was impressed by how "hi-tech" and modern the office is. They appear to have all the latest in dental technology. I was also impressed by the friendliness of all of the entire staff, from the reception desk to the hygenists. Overall, I would definitely recommend this office. Just as a warning though...the initial visit will take awhile...I was there almost three hours and none of that time was spent in a waiting room...the exam was really that extensive. read more

My mother was seen for 2 cavities. She is unable to open her mouth very wide or to hold it open and Dr. Ray Mooring instead being understanding about this was the opposite, he seemed more concerned with getting bite. I did speak with him and he did offer an apology (had I been able to leave work and go with my mother, this would have been different, however I wasn't able to and they could have called my husband in from the waiting room who was with her, but they chose not to do that either). I have worked for dentists for many years and I know that they can usually tell how difficult a procedure is going to be and whether the patient is able to tolerate it. Instead of telling my mom (who is 80) that it was going to be a very difficult procedure and offering to send her to another dental office that can sedate or is more capable of handling it, they proceeded. My mother left there in tears and was near hysterically crying by the time she got home. She stated this is the worse experience she has ever gone through at a dentist office. I except Dr Mooring's apology but I would not ever recommend him, especially to an elderly person! read more
