I had an appointment today to have my teeth cleaned. I got no less than four text messages, two…read moreemails, and at least one phone call reminding me of my appointment time and informing me of a $75.00 no show fee. I arrived fifteen minutes early and they didn't bring me in until fifteen minutes past my appointment time. The assistant started setting me up for X-rays and I told herI didn't want X-rays and was just here for a cleaning. She called the doctor in who explained they won't do a cleaning without X-rays and an exam. Okay, so I agreed. After all that was done they were trying to schedule my next appointment. I asked what about getting my teeth cleaned??? She replied "we ran out of time". I was livid, so I questioned if I make a new appointment to get my teeth cleaned I have to go through this whole process all over again?? Upon checking out they tried to make my cleaning appointment. I told them I would call. Then to beat all, if you pay by credit card they upcharge you. They magically found a free hygienist and cleaned my teeth. I think they care more about profit than the patient so it's time to find a new dentist.

They added on since my disabled son has Medicaid as a insurance they will stop taking that insurance in the future as a added reason to to terminate him. Each time I go in for cleaning (every 6 months), they take X-rays. And each time prior to them taking the X-rays, I have asked if it was covered by my insurance. I have been assured by the hygienist that it is a covered expense. Then I get a bill for the X-rays. I called my insurance company and they stated that Challenger is billing for a type of X-ray that is covered every 5 years with BCBS. Beware of this scam.
