Ridiculous place to shop service-wise. This is a pretty large store with quite a bit of inventory. 3 guys were working this evening but "keeping busy" to seemingly avoid customers. People were standing around just begging with their eyes to be noticed! We went in quickly to grab a bow tie for hubby for our X-mas party. In and out turned into 20 minutes of just waiting at the cash register to pay! Deplorable. And to think how much $ we spent here for our wedding (North Hill location) to see this store go downhill like this. The man who finally checked us out never apologized for our wait . He did advise that someone had called in sick but all the more reason to kick it up a notch, no? No thank you for our purchase, we just could not wait to get out of there. read more

Just left from here picking up a suit and I cannot express how rude and unprofessional the one man helping me was. Just bought a $1000 suit and was greeted with a snarky man in his 50s that treated me like I shouldn't even be there. There was another man that was the sweetest but nothing could've fixed the way the previous worker acted. read more

- I paid $215 to rent the suit and it fit poorly, even after I went in and waited 20 minutes to get measured. I've literally bought suits from Moore's for less. - The suit jacket was way too long. Not just mine either, but all the groomsmen in the wedding photos looked like they were wearing their dad's clothes -- even the men who stood over 6 feet tall. Moores never offered any way to fix the jacket. - The pants (which I was measured for) were also way too long. When I pointed this out, the worker at the Heritage Meadows Moores location did not offer to alter the pants accordingly. I even asked, and he said it didn't look so bad if I sat down. Unfortunately, wedding photos are taken standing up. I ended up calling another location to get the pants altered. - The worker at the Shawnessy location (Chris) was very helpful and altered the pants for me. - Overall, Moores was terrible value, terrible fit, and a terrible experience, with the single bright spot when Chris fixed the pants. Moores made all the men in the wedding party look terrible on my best friend's special day. read more

One of the worst Moores store I have ever been into. The good: The only thing saving the second star was the great service that the employee gave us, a young redhead girl, who went out of her way to make us feel welcome. The bad: This store is extremely dirty. Carpet is full of dust and residue. Changing rooms are dirty and fill with "leftovers" from previous people who changed there. Bottom of shelves VERY dusty. Bottom of mannequins also dusty. On shelves, under clothes, objects and papers which have been there for a while (because of accumulation of dust). One employee left the store to look at a parked car, while the other one looked very angry at life. Oh yeah, also dust on shoes, which you are not interested to get because it is so dirty. Final thought, do not go to this store as it is obvious they do not care about details and cleanliness. read more

Take this review with a grain of salt. This was my first venture of this kind, so I haven't really got a frame of reference. But read it for yourself and see if you can gleen any useful information. I'll admit: I love wearing suits. I've gone out of my way to keep a miserably low paying job because it allowed me to wear a suit every night. That being said, up until just recently I've only ever owned 'just okay' fitting, plain black, generic, off the shelf with very minor alterations suits from Sears or one I put together by buying matching pants and blazer at Walmart... in short, nothing that cost me more than $200 at full retail price... so my trip into Moores might as well have been dropping a native Hawaiin into the south pole. There were so many different colors, shades, materials, patterns, terms I didn't understand, organizations that made no sense to me... hell, the salesman who saw me stumbling around like a chicken with it's head cut off asked me what size I wore and my best response was the waist size of jeans I wore and the fact that most of my t-shirts are mediums. Boy was I out of my depth. The salesman in question, Rod, took one look at me and madea guess... then with a couple quick wraps of a measuring tape had confirmed his suspicions, and pulled a jacket off the rack and fit better than any garment I've ever worn in my life. Unfortunately it was hideous, but the point is the man knew his sizing. He then took me over to a corner where all the suits in my size were and said to try some on and he'd be back in a few minutes. I knew roughly the color I was looking for, and narrowed it down to about half a dozen and tried each on... most left a lot to be desired in the look department, but then I found "the one". The second I put it on, I felt like it had been made for me. It took my short, stalky, depressing frame and made me seem not only more stylish, but taller AND slimmer at the same time. I felt like I could have done stand in work for Brad Pitt and had him sent home for coming up short (Okay, probably not, but you catch my drift). I knew I had to have this thing. The downside? $650. Here's where my lack of experience comes back into play: I have no idea if that's really outrageous, just moderately pricey, or totally par for the course. All I know is that pretty much every suit on the rack was $450 and up, and the ones that weren't looked very similar to my Walmart throw together special, so I imagined that this suit was worth the adding the extra percentage over it's relatively unimpressive counterparts. Rod was a bit pushy with the added expenses - didn't even ASK if I'd like to have it tailored there, rather just assuming and starting to mark where things needed to be shortened with a piece of chalk, but since I was planning to anyway I didn't say anything. He would then talk about added services in their tailoring department like the "super creasing" (which apparently keeps the crease in the pants in better shape and lets it last longer) as if he had already made the decision that I was going to have these done - something that rubbed me the wrong way, but he seemed very knowledgable so I took his word that they were a good idea and didn't say anything. He then tried to upsell me on everything from shirts and ties to shoes and belts, but that was expected. All in all, I wish I'd had someone more experienced in the world of formal wear there to help guide me, so I would advise newbies like me bring such a person if you can, BUT I hit one major jackpot I can't recommend enough. Once a year, Moores does what they call a "suit drive" collecting used formal wear items to give to the less fortunate for use at job interviews, etc. and for trading in whatever you have - be it a full suit or an old blazer - they give you a coupon for 50% off your next purchase, no matter how much it may be.... so, by trading in an old Walmart blazer that cost me $50 brand new, I saved over $330. If you're not in any rush to buy, I'd keep an eye out for this event or something else similar, as it's a total life saver. read more

A few weeks ago they sold me a suit and I won't be going back to Moores again. I found a suit and the jacket fit me perfectly, but the pants were way too big. I found it weird that a slim fit suit would come with huge loose fitting pants but the sales rep assured me the pants had to go with that suit and that a tailor could easily make them fit perfectly. Wrong, wrong, wrong. I picked the pants up yesterday from a moores tailor and they look and fit terrible. More work will have to be done on them and I still don't think they will look good at that point. After this I discovered the suit is sold online as separates, so the giant pants didn't necessarily have to go with that jacket. I have a nice jacket with ugly pants thanks to Moores, thanks guys. read more

Worst service of all Moore's that I have been to. Not customer friendly at all, seem to want to avoid customers at all costs. Manager (Chris) is extremely rude and does not have any management skills at all. Lazy if you ask me. Asked to speak with manager about poor service he didn't want to come out from his office. Employee asked that I come back another time. When he did finally come out he deliberately walked right past to the other side of the store and barked across that he would talk over there. Save your time and money for a store that is glad that you are spending money at their establishment because this one doesn't care. read more

Invompetent staff, not only did Moore's screw up every groomsmen's jackets but on top of that when we went to pick up a replacement for the groom it was the wrong size. The lady who pulled it and said they had it only read the tag on the head of the hanger. She hadn't actually looked at the tag on the jacket to confirm the size. Then they tried to give us a completely different size then require but in in a slim fit now. They were trying to convince us it would be the same but none of these "experienced staff" had the foresight to think that the groom now would be the only one wearing a slim fit and would look very different from the rest of the groomsmen. On top of that because the groom was in another city so the wasn't available to confirm it would fit. Another staff at this point tried to convince me to try it even though the groom and I are nothing alike is shape and size. I wear a 34 jacket and the groom a 38, the second staff member tried to explain I was the same size. When I specifically told him my weight and that I was a 34 he proceeded to tell me that I was lying and literally said I was fatter than that and that most guys come in saying they are smaller and that he can tell. My advice stay away from this location or better yet got to a different company altogether. read more

Service is hit or miss. Have had more good service than bad. Much better than some of the places I've been to in Calgary lately.
