I've owned horses and have ridden extensively, so we came with experience and simply wanted to enjoy a beautiful morning ride together. Our guide, Will, was outstanding. He was knowledgeable, personable, safety-conscious, and made the entire experience relaxing and enjoyable. You could tell he genuinely loves what he does and cares about both the horses and his guests. The horses were well-mannered, the scenery around Folsom Lake was breathtaking, and the pace was perfect for taking it all in. The best part? The smile never left my granddaughter's face all day. I stopped by around 4;00 PM at the BBQ/roast meat counter. I was next in line when the cashier allowed another customer to cut in front of me and tried to serve her. I had to point out that there was a line before the situation was addressed. I was already feeling frustrated at that point. When it was finally my turn, I selected a particular piece of BBQ pork from the rack, which is something I have done many times before. The chopper refused to give me that piece and insisted that I choose one from the container instead, saying that the meat on the rack was cold. This didn't make much sense to me because I have been shopping here for years and have never been told that I couldn't select the BBQ pork from the rack because it was cold. While I was waiting, I also watched the same employee serve ducks and BBQ ribs from the rack to other customers without telling them that those items were cold. What made the situation even more frustrating was that the customer who had cut in line had already indicated the piece she wanted. It appeared that the piece on the rack had effectively been set aside for her. I cannot say for certain that this was the reason, but the timing and the way the situation was handled certainly gave me that impression. When the cashier overheard our conversation about the meat being "cold," she interrupted and joined in, repeatedly asking me, "Are you sure you want the cold one?" She seemed determined to convince me to change my mind and choose a different piece. At that point, I felt like I was being pressured over a very simple and ordinary request. After going back and forth, I finally gave up and took the piece the chopper wanted me to have. I was also concerned that the chopper was not wearing a mask while handling and serving ready-to-eat cooked food. The problem wasn't simply that I couldn't get the particular piece of BBQ pork I wanted. It was the overall customer service--the cashier allowing someone to cut in line, the inconsistent explanation, and the repeated attempts to convince me to change my selection. After shopping here for years, I left feeling frustrated and disappointed. This was one of the worst customer-service experiences I've had at this store.
