This is everything grocery shopping should be. The employees are super friendly, there are enough…read moreemployees there that you're not waiting around for anything, there's always someone bagging while the checker works, there are NO self checkout lines (I can't stand self checkout), and you don't have to enter your phone number into anything in order to get the sale prices. In the rare occasions when I'm not able to find something I wanted, it's because it's something so obscure I wind up having to either ordering it online or making a trip to some hidden specialty store in the Bay Area to get it. I've been shopping here for a couple of years. There's another grocery store that's five minutes from my house, but I drive the 20 minutes to shop here because the overall experience is so much better. Today's trip really stood out to me because of a couple things... while I was at the deli waiting for the clerk to work on my order, at least three other employees came up to me and asked if I was being helped. I've been to other stores where I've stood at a counter for literally 5 minutes, watching employees going out of their way to not acknowledge me. That never happens here. Then I was really taken aback by how the peppers and mushrooms were displayed. The fact that whoever stocked these mushrooms took the time to turn every mushroom cap side up and arranged all the portobellos the way they are speaks to a dedication to quality work. You can tell that in this store, nobody half-asses anything, and the employees take pride in what they do.

Nugget Markets is basically the bougiest grocery store chain in the greater Sacramento area…read more All of the packaged deli foods perpetually look like they were chopped within the past thirty minutes, the bakery section looks like an actual high end European bakery, the floors are clean enough to eat off of, and the associates all seem happy with their jobs. This particular Nugget has a fairly large upstairs patio area with tables, chairs, restrooms, water bottle refilling station, microwave, etc. Lots of grocery stores in this area have a downstairs lounge area, but being upstairs (but still accessible via a ramp and elevators) gives it an extra edge. Plus you can't beat that view of the Mercedes dealership. The salad selection is some of the best I've seen anywhere, although they are very pricey at about $10/8oz (which is why I haven't actually tried one). I came here in search of some tampons that I couldn't find at Target, and was thrilled that this store carried small boxes of single sizes, versus the huge multipacks they had at Target. Thank you Nugget for doing a better job at procuring feminine health items than Target. As a bonus this store (like many others) is within walking distance of the wetland preserve.

02/19/2026: Shopping At Blue Oaks Nugget Market Store, i.e., I'm cooking dinner for my family…read more BTW: I learned a "Gee Whiz Fact" from the Nugget Market's Meat Department Butcher--the grass-fed beef must have a little fat in the center in order, retaining moisture for either grilling or broiling. Aside, I'm a petite individual: I inquired with Customer Service if, I may " . . . borrow a Customer Service Member's height for reaching two products which are too high for me reaching." A Customer Service Member laughed when I stated I didn't want the glass bottles cracking my head, i.e., safely assisting reaching and giving me the organic, Tart Cherry Juice and the organic, Lemon Olive Oil I wanted purchasing. Moreover, I wanted purchasing BULK organic spices and organic tea as well . . . Overall and ironically strangely noting: Blue Oaks Nugget Market Store's location boasts an incredible inventory which ultimately surpasses El Dorado County, Placer County, and Sacramento County Nugget Market locations' store inventory comparing to Blue Oaks Nugget Market Store's inventory! AMAZING, indeed.

However, this location does not live up to their standards. Went to the deli to order a sandwich. I and other patrons are told they ran out of avocado and pickles. How is this possible? They're a grocery store. I asked if they would discount the price, but they refused. I still decided to order. The sandwich employee making my sandwich was coughing on my sandwich the entire time he was making it. Hands me the sandwich, and I rejected to purchase it. The sandwich was less than an inch thick. I have never seen a sandwich of that poor quality in all the years I've been a customer. I can't justify buying from this location moving forward.

The berries looked beautiful -- fresh, bright, and exactly what you want when you're making something special and don't want to risk disappointing fruit. Produce quality really does make a difference, especially when it's the star of the dish. I also ended up finding a garlic olive oil I've been looking for, which felt like a bonus win. Nugget is great for those moments when you need something a little more specialty and don't want to drive all over town searching for it. The store was clean, well stocked, and easy to get in and out of, which I always appreciate when I'm just popping in for a few things during a busy day. It's one of those places where you can reliably find quality ingredients whether you're cooking something special or just grabbing everyday groceries. Final verdict: absolutely worth it.

The fresh baked bread here seems to be the best compared to other grocery stores in the area,…read morehowever it costs a lot more. The pugliese bread is my favorite as it is soft, fluffy, and taste delicious! The sourdough is also yummy and has a light airy consistency.  The sandwiches are made with the fresh baked bread and are delicious! Even though the store opens at 6am, the bread is not ready until 8-9am, therefore it is best to order a sandwich a couple hours after the store opens for the optimum selection of bread. I once made the mistake of ordering a sandwich at 7am and was only presented with two bread options: sliced bread or focaccia. I selected the focaccia and although the bread was tasty, it made for a very soft and ultimately soggy sandwich.  There is a large prepared/hot food section that is self-serve. On one occasion while I was selecting a soup to purchase I witnessed an employee wiping up the spilled food from the counter and putting it back into the large food tray. It was absolutely nauseating and I immediately questioned if I should even purchase the soup given the lack of proper food cleanup/handling.  The grocery items cost much more than other grocery stores for the same exact item. Nugget seems to carry a variety of high-quality ingredients and typical well-known brands. The cost of produce and meat is much higher than other grocery stores, although the meat is typically sourced from local farms.  During Thanksgiving Nugget carries a large selection of high quality turkeys. There are a few turkeys that are sourced from local farms that are advertised as natural, antibiotic free, and free range. When purchasing a Turkey for Thanksgiving it is always advised to call and preorder as the high quality turkeys sell out fast.

I remember visiting Fork Lift like 10 years ago and really liking it - it is a sister store of Nugget Market I believe. The inside was massive, clean and well organized. My husband and I wanted to buy one of everything! Their produce section had every fruit and vegetable imaginable - it was also very visually aesthetically pleasing! I loved seeing their bulk spices, nuts, teas and candy options! Their butcher shop and fish section looked very fresh and can we talk about their massive cheese selections!? I was very impressed and they even had my favorite coffee for sale which is hard to find - the Blue Bottle Nola milk cartons. Overall, this would be my grocer of choice if we lived in the area - check out staff was also very friendly! Check them out!

Brought to you by the family-owned, upscale and very successful, Nugget chain of grocery stores. I became very well acquainted with the Nugget markets living in Davis. There were two stores not far from each other and they were always packed. I shopped at the smaller one as it was closer to my home. It is literally the only place I ever shopped for food.I cannot imagine shopping anywhere else. When I moved to El Dorado Hills 5 years ago... thank goodness there was a big and beautiful Nugget a mile and half away. My point is all Nugget markets are quite incredible. Nothing compares to them. Excellent quality, in-house prepared food, bakery... TDF, floral, meat department, liquor, and fabulous fresh produce section. Fork Lift is to me like the Nugget markets on steroids! I was astonished at the size of the store and cool inside architectural design. Yes it is hip! Super clean, well stocked in everything. Organized. Quite impressive. And the same great departments as I mentioned above that are available in the Nugget stores are right here too! The chatter is that the Fork Lift offers many discounted prices but honestly, I never see them. Then I heard the lower priced items are strategically placed in and around the store. Who knows. I enjoy taking the drive up the hill to Cameron Park occasionally just to wander around and marvel at this shopping mecca! Easy exit off the freeway and fast to find. Plenty of parking. Worth checking out if you are in the area or on the way to or returning from Tahoe. Did I mention super duper customer service!?! And weekly specials! Geez... a girl cannot remember everything.:) Here is to good eating!

I've been here before it's been a couple of years, but I will say that the experience did not disappoint at all. I will say the customer service is much better at this location than what I experienced at the Arden Way location. Even if I didn't have to come pick up a package in this area, it will still worth the 35 minute drive from my house to come to this location. My cashier Brooke was super friendly and very helpful and answered my question about a specific inquiry. She thoroughly explained that there was an update and entering my phone number for my prime benefits, may not work, and I most likely would need to use the Amazon app scan code option to receive my prime discount. She even went above and beyond to give me further instructions regarding that. I truly appreciated her being so helpful, so patient and displaying such great customer service. My whole visit today was super pleasant. I purchased the artesian sandwich was delicious by the way. I was sad about one thing, though, my salad the sesame cucumber noodle salad was all sold out, but I understand why as Brooke even explained it is one of the most popular salads and does go pretty quick. I still will come back because the experience alone was just that great.

Yet another negative review for this place... here we go!…read more I think Whole Foods has finally succeeded in pushing away a loyal customer. For the past year and a half, I've spent an absurd amount of money in this store -- especially in the meat department -- and the service has been consistently disappointing. The issue isn't with the entire store, but specifically with a few employees in the meat department who behave as if customers owe them something. I've dealt with head-shakings, condescending remarks, and an overall attitude that makes it feel like I'm inconveniencing them with simple, reasonable requests. I'm not asking anyone to go hunt down a cow -- just basic customer service. I'm done spending my hard earned money in a place that treats customers this way. I've switched to Nugget Market, and honestly, I should've done it a long time ago. The difference is night and day: I'm treated with respect, my business feels appreciated, and every request at their meat counter is met with a smile and a genuine "of course." And while we're at it -- the deli department at Whole Foods is another headache. The long waits, the lack of urgency, the "we'll get to you when we get to you" vibe... it's exhausting. All the negative reviews speak for themselves. I don't know what's going on with the culture at this store, but thankfully, it's no longer my problem. Goodbye, Whole Foods. Hello, Nugget!!!
