Wow. Such an amazing experience with Raley's this morning . I called Raley's and Korinn answered the phone. She went above and beyond to help my elderly Dad when he arrived at the store . We have been shopping at Raleys, Granite Bay for the past 13 years. Today I experienced a very unpleasant buying process. At the meat dept. I asked for 5 slices of lean bacon. I noticed that the butcher was doing some other task and when he came over to help me, he was a bit pushed out of shape. He took the bacon out of the case and showed it to me. I stated, "it is not very lean". He replied, rather curtly, "It is the best I got". Rather than argue, I took the bacon and came home. Cost me $5.39. Yes, 5 slices equals $1.00 per slice. The bacon that is predominantly fat will be significantly trimmed and discarded. Can not be used in the dish I was preparing that evening. In the future I will do all my meat shopping at Nugget, Granite Bay. read more

Hidden Lakes Estates hosted a First Responders Fire Safety fair to our community and surrounding communities. Ashley, front end Raley's manager (6845 Douglas Blvd) sponsored our fair with ice and water to keep everyone hydrated during our fair on Saturday Aug 9th - triple digit heat that day! She also had some of the water 'frozen' that was awesome and a huge crowd pleaser. The overwhelming success has gained interest with other FireWise communities in Granite Bay so we are looking into a larger venue at Granite Bay Community Park next year. Some of the front end workers are THE rudest workers I have ever had to deal with...the front end employee when I mentioned that it is quite an ordeal to use your system and how Safeway is much simpler... I just want to take a moment to shout out this Raleys location (6845 Douglas Blvd) and two very nice staff there. Their customer service was kind, friendly and above and beyond just standard interaction. I came in on their night shift around 8-9pm I think. This was back in the end of December of 2024 and I am just remembering to write a review! I occasionally visit this store whenever I am visiting the area. I shop here 90% of the time. This is the 4th time this has happened. I bought a container that had chicken tenders in it. The chicken is virtually cooked like beef jerky and it is not acceptable for any human to eat. I stopped buying it 2 years ago because it was horrible but then I decided to try it again and it never changed. Perhaps they can get someone who can actually cook? Also I buy 100k candy bars from them but they now decided not to carry them anymore. As well as Gatorade Zero powder packets that I've been buying for 10 years from them. Now I have to go to the new Nugget store or Safeway to buy them. Why do they always discontinue items? I spend a ton of money with Raley's so I think they should bend over backwards to please their customers but when you mention anything that upsets me they do nothing. We will no longer shop at Raleys as a result of a recent experience. In short, they failed to honor a price for roast beef from the deli that was clearly identified by a sign as 10.99 per pound. The regular price was 16.99 per pound. I ordered a pound to be sliced and then went to the self check out. It rang up at 16.99. When I brought that to the attention of the attendant she spend 5 minute or so questioning me about whether I was a Rewards member and whether I put in my rewards number (which I did) and whether the roast beef was in the weekly ad (which it was at 10.99) and going to talk with a manager. The result was I was told that to get the sale price it was necessary to buy the entire packaged roast beef (you know the one wrapped in plastic that they have on display in the case). When I pointed out that nowhere in the advertising did it say that you had to buy the entire roast beef (which would weigh maybe 15 pounds??). She insisted that people buy the whole roast beef all the time and asked me if I still wanted the roast beef. She agreed that the sign was misleading and needed to be changed. Neither she or the manager offered a price adjustment. I didn't buy the roast beef and in fact regret buying the other items on that visit. It's not the 6.00 difference it is the horrible customer service that irritates me. We will only shop at Safeway now and look forward to the new Nugget coming to Granite Bay. read more

I don't normally do my ECart shopping at the GB store but I wanted to give a shout out to my personal shopper. I'm sorry that I didn't catch her name but she was as sweet as can be and made sure that if there was something that wasn't available she found a comparable product that was. Communication is the key! I've shopped various Raley's and Bel Air's using ECart and some have been horrible. There was zero communication and the produce they chose was terrible. Not with this lady! This is my favorite place to shop as the staff are super friendly. My favorite staffers include Ashley, Rebecca, and Steve as they are the nicest people you could ever meet. Yikes! This Raley's store may get me thrown in jail. The customer service was so GOOD, (Ashley) and the meat department staff, that I went out and gathered up some rocks and went down to Safeway and Walmart and started throwing them at the front windows. Raley's is so dam customer oriented, I will never step foot in another store for life. I have been missing out! Raley's is head and shoulders above the others in service and special ad pricing. I'm not sure how you are interpreting the "local guidelines" but I do believe you post these signs at your stores outlining the state mandated guidelines. Since my complaint, the (maskless) President of the United States and many of his (also maskless) crowd has been infected (count yet to be known) at an event called a "super spreader" event of the virus due to 1) no social distancing and 2) large crowd and 3) no masks worn! BRILLIANT!! Raley's whatever reason to do the least you should as far as determining themselves a "TM" (team member) at the door, clean carts, offer germex, is no longer necessary to protect their customers with the logic that "only 10%" of the shoppers are not wearing masks I must ask the following: Is your opinion scientific? It's so easy to hand out masks and germex and ask people to comply. A manager should manage for the safety of their customers and employees. I suggest you make it 100% maskless store!! Smart people will shop elsewhere. I shudder to think of someone driving a giant Raley's flag in the back of their pickup next..............seems this is the crowd of shoppers you prefer. This review is specifically for the bakery. I ordered a cake for my husband's birthday. Their special cupcake right now is peanut butter and chocolate. I asked them if they could turn the cupcake into a half sheet cake. I didn't have super high expectations just because it seemed like it was going to be complicated and the price wasn't super high for a specialty cake. The cake turned out gorgeous and tasted amazing! Boy, has the store gone down in both quality and value. The Meat department is great; but, like every other department in the store, if you call for something, they do not answer the phone and you're on hold for 10 minutes before someone finally asked to call them to answer. Their produce has declined dramatically. We got home and in one day the lettuce turned, their fruit is not good for much more than 24 hours, and their selection has declined. This used to be a great family store; but, there is much less selection Today and the quality quality of fruits and vegetables is marginal at best. The attitude of many of the employees also leaves much to be desired. There are a few really good people there; Ben, on the whole, the experience is much better and value as much higher at Safeway. This is too bad because we are longtime customers. read more

When going through checkout with my boyfriend, we had mainly food items and then a case of mixed drinks. Matt, the cashier asked for his ID of course which my boyfriend, 28, gave him. He used to live in Colorado so his drivers license is from there as well, a 2018 one. Matt proceeded to grab a book that showed 2023 State ID's and looked for a while and said my boyfriends ID isn't valid. I told him that it's his valid government ID from the DMV in Colorado, to which Matt said "do you want to argue or get your stuff". We asked for a manager but he said that she would just back him up on his claim. I gave him my ID and my passport card as well in case he was going to say mine was a fake, and said that he could use mine. He gave a bunch of attitude back and said "you have to pay for it then" My boyfriend again asked for a manager due to Matt's attitude. The manager came over and again said "sorry, he said it wasn't valid so that's what it is" Matt then started to smirk at us, and when I asked him to not do that as it's not professional, he completely denied. I gave both my ID's to the manager and then they were able to check us out but had zero problem with my boyfriend carrying the alcohol. We even asked them to scan his ID. Maybe your employees need to be trained that 2023 ID's aren't going to be the same as a 2018 ID. My CA ID doesn't look like the ones as today as it's from 2016. Proper training on how to de-escalate a situation as well, rather than escalate it further by arguing with your customers is also something that needs to be gone over. All in all, I'll go to Safeway where they've never given us an issue, and they can scan your ID, or really any other establishment than this Raleys. If I could give zero stars I would but at least the manager had good customer service. read more

In a time where customer service is all but gone, special requests are not accepted the Granite Bay Raley's is the exception. While other grocery stores make their customers stand in line waiting for a register, GB Raley's does not. Special requests are handled with care. Alexis, the meat department manager, took the time to help me with a special order. Her courtesy and timeliness was greatly appreciated. With that, let's try this again. Stopped in for a quick bite to eat on my way home. This was out of my way and I certainly wasn't looking to stop here - I had apprehensions from my previous experience, surely they have decent customer service during their busy, evening hours, right? I suppose if deli clerks SITTING on the counter showing memes and YouTube videos to one another and check out associates that 1) don't acknowledge you at all and 2) treat the entire process of checking out/processing the purchase that a customer is making while trying to juggle e-cart and supervise self check out as a hindrance more than help then I have JUST the Raleys location for you. Now I know what to expect and can't hope for any change when or if I ever decide to stop in this Raleys ever again. read more
