I came here with my dad and my sister, I am obsessed with alpaca farms and I am so glad we found Loomis Alpacas. Beckie was super sweet and teaching us a bunch of new things about alpacas. You can tell she takes pride in her farm and raises her alpacas with love. We were able to feed them and interact with them. My sister even bought some alpaca yarn while we were here and I cannot wait to see what she knits with it. I definitely recommend this place and I will definitely be visiting again when I'm in the area.

The owner has to be one of the nicest people ever met. Went to LOOMIS Alpacas for my 21st birthday and all I can say is wow! Everything about it was amazing! The alpacas were so nice and so cute, The owner was even more nice and taught us so much about alpacas, and the overall atmosphere of the location was so calming. I went just yesterday and I already want to go back. She also has alpaca yarn for sale that was so soft and pretty I had to buy 2 of them! Most importantly you can just tell that they treat their animals like their children. They are so well taken care of and you can tell just how happy they are to be there.

Wonderful evening family outing. Beckie was so easy-going and accommodating with our group of 11. The experience was relaxing and fun for all ages. We had children and teens with us. We learned so much about alpacas, enjoyed feeding them, and learned about their different personalities. All the alpacas apparently poop in one big pile, so 1) you're not stepping all over it and 2) it wasn't smelly. These are some of the sweetest, most gentle animals on the planet! I've looked at other places that do alpaca experiences, and they want to charge you an arm and a leg. Thank you for making the experience possible and affordable!

Loomis Alpacas is a true hidden gem in Placer County that brought my family and me so much joy! Scheduling was easy over email. Communication was prompt and Beckie was super hospitable at every moment. She was kind and calm, and we all felt welcomed and comfortable. Thanks to her, we learned about alpacas and took some adorable photos. We even got to take home some souvenirs from her cute shop (get the alpaca socks-my husband LOVES his!). As a cherry on top to this fabulous experience, my toddlers got to pick a delicious Fuji apple from Beckie's farm. Wowow, what a fun and unique adventure! What a fun experience! My friends and I were looking for a fun activity to do during a pit stop from Lake Tahoe. We stumbled upon this cute little farm near Sacramento! Beckie keeps her alpacas in an open space outside her home and it's so neat to witness. During our visit, there were about 6 alpacas interacting with us! They are very calm and friendly. It's easy to get their attention with the treats, but it was advised not to pet them! Unless Beckie told us it was okay, the alpacas could get frightened by the petting. Beckie was very knowledgable and easy to talk to! I definitely recommend this experience to anyone curious about alpacas! read more

I highly recommend giving Beckie and her alpacas a visit if you are in the area. She is friendly, passionate about her animals and provided us with an amazing experience. I would totally come back with friends and family that have never been. It was easy to schedule a time with Beckie and there are many parking spots in the area. Our tour was around 40 minutes and we enjoyed every moment of it. At the end of the tour, there is a cute gift shop to buy all things alpaca! read more

I came here with my dad and my sister, I am obsessed with alpaca farms and I am so glad we found Loomis Alpacas. Beckie was super sweet and teaching us a bunch of new things about alpacas. You can tell she takes pride in her farm and raises her alpacas with love. We were able to feed them and interact with them. My sister even bought some alpaca yarn while we were here and I cannot wait to see what she knits with it. We did not realize that this place existed until we saw the ad in Groupon. We purchased the tickets on Groupon and scheduled the date of visit. The owners are very nice and hard working. They take good care of these alpacas. The tour included taking the alpacas around the facility. They also has a little shop selling wool items which reasonably priced. We purchased beautiful beanie and mittens. Will totally return in the near future. read more

I like the connection that is made between the alpacas, the land and us humans. Learning about their instinctive behavior as a herd and how we communicate helps us to calm ourselves and appreciate the moment we find ourselves.

History

Established in 2005.

Desiring to be a good steward of the few acres we own, and after much research, we bought our first 3 alpacas in 2005. 26 alpacas have been born and raised here. Our farm is a fiber producing farm and we continue to improve with fine yarns and healthy animals. Soon we will have a farm store with alpaca products made in the USA and from our own alpacas.

Meet the Business Owner: Beckie P.

I love God’s creation and spend as much time as possible outdoors. My job keeps me indoors during the week so inviting guests to spend time with the herd keeps me outdoors on the weekends doing what I love which is promoting alpacas. I find great joy in giving visitors the experience of getting to know these cherished and respected animals who also enjoy the visitors who feed them treats.

Well, their umbrellas were NOT secured, there was a strong gust of wind that lifted the heavy umbrella out from the table, knocked-over drinks, spilled drinks on my girlfriend and our food, the umbrella could have hit and injured her and their response was just "Are you okay?" AFTER I asked my girlfriend if she was alright. No "was anything damaged?" or "Can I get you a towell, or at least replace your drinks?" No, they just took the umbrellas away in a golf cart. Thanks for the mess, the ruined food, spilled drinks from your unsecured umbrellas, and not offering to compensate us at all.

We then visited the animals and learned about all the amazing things the farm does, which was both fun and educational. After the tour, the kids enjoyed time on the playground and had snacks. There were also shops and places to eat, which was great for families and chaperones. The bathrooms are port-a-potties. They do have hand washing stations. I had never heard of this farm before, but it truly exceeded my expectations. We will definitely be back next year! It was only $5 per child and $15 for parents which wasn't bad.

Weekend tickets are released on Thursdays at 7 pm. When choosing our date and time it shows we only had an hour to pick but really we got to take our time and enjoy our morning. I feel they show you have a one hour slot to help stagger guests in. I love how they had a little gift shop set up, another tent with fresh flowers, drinks, and beautiful cookies at the register to purchase. The strawberry fields had plenty to choose from. We saw lots of bright red ones varying from all sizes. The staff also informed us there were 6 types of strawberries being grown! Being able to include her in picking the strawberries then taking them home to eat fresh off the vine was everything and more. On the day we went (reservation on a Saturday from 10-11am) the cost for adults was $12 per person. This includes a small basket per person. They offer 6 different varieties of strawberries, yup you read that right. I had no idea there were more than one variety, so this educational part was cool. The farm can get crowded and with this Sac heat, I highly recommend scheduling your reservation early and on a weekday. The farm is family owned and everyone is so nice. Would absolutely recommend this idea to families with your kiddos.

This was an amazing find and exactly what I was looking for! It was well kept, super cute with lots of photo ops, plenty to do without being overwhelming or too busy. They have a small corn maze (takes 10-15 minites), tractor ride, a full fledged pumpkin patch, large hale pyramid to climb, and pumpkin shooter. There's also a small flower patch. Prices were very reasonable for whatever items you want to do, especially considering no cost for parking or entrance. There was a good amount of shade on the property which is super nice. Only 1 porta potty which is a big con for me, but since it's not too far out of town not the end of the world. Parking lot is big enough for the size of the place, gravel. Everything was stroller friendly for our little one. The girls working were sweet and even willing to take some photos for us with the cute pumpkin arch. There was 1 food truck on site but limited options. Probably plan to eat before/after. Overall, definitely intend to come back next year and make this a fun tradition. It doesn't have the rides or slides or big entertainment that places like Bishops have, but its really cute and has plenty to do for a family that is wanting something smaller scale.

They have a corn maze a tractor ride, some beautiful flowers to walk around, a huge hay pyramid and a bunch of pumpkins for sale. The cost to park and walk in is free but the rides and other stuff cost is minimal. The employees were very nice as they greeted us upon walking up to main booth. All in all it's really fun for the kids and didn't cost much money. I'd definitely recommend this place!

Peaceful and serene setting with a whole bunch of Alpacas. Set up an appointment and discover these interesting creatures. They sort of look like Llamas but are real gentle. A great way to just be grateful for the nature of it all. read more
