I worked for a short while and had to quit . They let these children speak to staff as they are scum of the earth! This location the kids break everything, run around and don't listen to staff, curse at staff (these are small kids ). The boys and girls club at EV Cain middle school was THE WORST place I have every worked in my life... The middle schoolers here curse every other sentence and the " boss" says "it's how they talk " . The boys and girls touch each other and the boys grab the girls behinds and NO ONE does ANYTHING. it is insane. I told one child to leave the area that was not permitted and he told me to " go fuck myself" " katie let's us do whatever we want" .... I told the boss and she pulled him aside and then let him to proceed to play less than 5 minutes later. And then he came up to me and said "HAHA fuck you lady". With the way thus place is ran the kids here will either be pregnant, middleschool drop outs, on drugs or worse. I have millions of stories about this place and I told the main bosses of the Boys & Girls Club about the issues and they DID NOTHING. this place should not receive a dime of funding. I think the kids are safer on the street than in these locations. Honestly. Whoever is running this place should be ashamed. Get out from behind your little desk and make some changes. Even the kids that are semi good copy the others and this has life lasting effects. HORRIBLE . HORRIBE. HORRIBLE. Worst place for kids ever. Parents have no idea the way they kids act here and what staff let's them do.

Since my uncle is a long time member of the Boys & Girls Clubs, he remembers it when it was just called the "Boys Clubs" when he joined. We were given a tour of the facility since there was a volleyball event going on in the gym. A small trip down memory lane for my uncle as Chris explained to us the changes happening at his facility and for what kind of goals he would like to achieve before he graduates from college this spring. It was great to know that the youth being served here are mostly from low-income families. Not only low income youth, but it is also open to youth who come from troubled households too.

We know it's the young…read morewhite christians association with that cheap ass rebrand. it's been like that since the 80's when they let my 9 year old ass sleep outside on the ground in a sleeping bag at their summer camp with NO BUG SPRAY (I woke up with hundred mosquito bites on my face) and it's still like that now when I email about the teacher discount that they advertise on the website but manager Karen (who can't ever find her inbox, said in a phone conversation a week and 2 unread emails later that they'd honor the discount since it's on their page) reverses course after she apparently sees my photo. A photo of my id she asked me to forward in another email that she also didn't respond to lol. no I found out my money was no good there when I visited today on my day off. She was at the "new" capitol gym. I waited a little bit for her to get off the phone so she could come and give me a whole song and dance about how she now couldn't set me up with the 10% discount. She said it was only for "first responders". Not her pullin out a laminated copy of the policy to show me teachers not on there lol when I reminded her of her words that since it was on the website, she would honor it. She did the backslide. "I was in the car." "I was confused." "I was picking up my daughter." But she was answering a work phone call lol She tried to blame the website offer on a rogue phantom front desk employee lol yall listen, the way this conversation turned unserious. Unless these front desk people can control the whole YMCA page from their phone. I know she was scrambling because I ain't never even seen half of these kids look up from they device when a member comes to check in (I took my kids there for a couple years doing swim lessons). You mean to tell me they on their iPhone writin code this whole time? Get out lol Needless to say we're just gonna have to find somewhere else to swim. It's not even the 10% that bothers me as much as it's the lack of effort. I feel sorry for the front desk dude who sat there quietly while she blamed him and his coworkers for the deal. I'm sure nobody there is gettin paid enough for that. YWCA need to spend some money on people who want to work because it doesn't look promising. But anyway, that's not my business. Steer clear of that place until they get themselves together.

The weight room and cardio/machine room are also pretty small, but the equipment is mostly good, with squat racks, barbells, etc. There's a large gymnasium with basketball. I am a bit dismayed by some of the other clients, who act somewhat rude and entitled. I also had an encounter with one rude staff member, but the others have all been nice. All in all, this place is o.k., but I could see myself getting tired of dealing with the other members too, and the pool temp really needs to be brought down.

Wow. Camp Augusta was way more than I expected. Almost to a fault. Let me explain: we came here…read morefor a family weekend camp and really didn't look to hard at what it was. I've been to camp. I've been to Tahoe national forest. I know what it was going to be and hoo boy was I wrong... in thre best possible way. So apparently most of the people there are seasonal regulars and it showed. I'll explain at the bottom. First if all the drive from the south bay. It was not the three hours my wife said, on a Friday afternoon it was almost six. Now that that is out of the way, the rest is all good. First came activity sign up, hope you don't suffer from anxiety or fear of missing out because there are SOOOOOOO many activities. Kid stuff, toddler stuff, adult stuff, stuff I didn't think camps could do. And you should read the emails with the descriptions or man up and ask, because some things are self explanatory (pottery, acrylics, archery, zip line) and some sound fun but in reality shouldn't be done by an overweight 50 year old who has no training, but you can still sign up. And then SOMEHOW they get you to do it and you have a great time! Next are accommodations. Sparse, but cool. Open air cabins in villages, secluded bungalows, pole tents, platform tents, and more (bring bug spray, they're all kinda just open). Different villages, running water means not only flushing toilets (really that should be the title and get 5 stars for that alone) but also HOT showers. While camping. Hot showers and camping, whoddathunkit? Next meals. Meals at camp. Cool. Nope: incredible. Apparently it is a rotating menu but for a weekend or week it means without being a host you have a new option at every meal. Vegans, gluten free, dairy free, whatever, they got you covered. You eat everything, they got you too. Ls favourite was pancakes with berries and whipped cream. And they don't go light. I really dig the teriyaki chicken. The activities were all great, but again there were just too many. You really feel like it is overboard until you get to know everyone else there. It is a place that kids and parents look forward to year after year. The wide selection means that this will be your go to for camping for years to come and for good reason. There were kids that have been going since they were toddlers and now in the mid teens that can still go and have a good time. I had lunch (but no clinics unfortunately) with a young lady who was on year 9. That seemed unlikely bit that wasd including the time she was a camper. How cool is that? L was suffering from preteen cool and didn't want to go to camp, but after the first datu he was pestering me to get him in a couple sessions this summer. They are all full but there is a waitlist, so we're all in on getting him up there somehow. Tl;dr: awesome camp, read my review, it isn't that long
