From the moment you walk through the front doors each morning, you're greeted with smiling faces and a warm "good morning." They know every child by name and make each family feel welcome. It's such a wonderful way to start the day and immediately gives you peace of mind. The teachers are truly incredible. They are patient, loving, attentive, and take the time to get to know each child as an individual. I've never felt like my son is just another student in a classroom. They celebrate his personality, encourage his growth, and genuinely care about his happiness and development. I also really appreciate their student to teacher ratio. There are more teachers in the classrooms than I've seen at many other childcare centers, which means the children receive so much individual attention and gives me peace of mind. My son started in the First Steps classroom and has now moved into the Young Toddlers classroom, so we've had the opportunity to experience three different classrooms and many different teachers. One thing that has remained consistent throughout every transition is the genuine love and care the staff has for the children. Even teachers he no longer has still stop to say hello, give him high fives, and ask how he's doing. Seeing that they continue to care about him long after he's left their classroom speaks volumes about the kind of people they are. It never feels like they're simply doing a job, they truly build relationships with the children and their families. One of my favorite things about the school is how much they do to keep learning fun and engaging. As a STEM school, they incorporate hands on learning while also offering so many exciting activities throughout the year. My son looks forward to Music Mondays with Matt, art days, water play days, pizza Fridays, and the creative themes they change throughout the week. Over the summer they had a train come to the school and the kids got to ride on it, my son loved that! They even had an outdoor Robo Dance Party that came to the school. They are always thinking of the next fun thing they can bring to the school and it's truly amazing! They even have Soccer Shots as an added option for kiddos. They also host so many family events and holiday celebrations, including Mother's Day, Father's Day, Grandparents Day, Aunt & Uncle Day, and more. They truly make families feel like they're part of the school community. Safety has always been a top priority for me, and this school takes it seriously. The secure entry with double doors and coded access, along with locked and alarmed outdoor gates, gives me confidence every day that my son is in a safe environment. The playground is always clean, well-maintained, and a place where the kids can play safely. The communication is another huge reason we love this school. Through their app, I receive updates throughout the day with photos, what my son has eaten, diaper changes, water refills, nap times, and more. It makes such a difference knowing exactly how his day is going while I'm at work. I am so grateful that my son gets to grow up surrounded by teachers and staff who love him so well. If you're looking for a school where your child will have lots of fun, learn new curriculum each day, be safe, encouraged, celebrated, and genuinely loved, I cannot recommend this school enough. My boys had both been with a private nanny their entire lives - and we were extremely nervous about transitioning them away from private home care and into a school environment. The Merryhill team was fantastic and so supportive during the transition. My youngest especially had a difficult time with the transition. The teachers were so patient and kind with his crying at drop off - and would provide us updates on how he was doing via the school app. I also really like how they have big windows into each classroom; I am able to watch my boys and see how happy they are in their classroom before they notice I am there to pick them up. Both of my boys absolutely adore their teachers (Ms. Lindsey, Ms. Liz, Ms. Nicole, and Ms. CeCe) and look forward to seeing their friends every day. Beyond my boys being comfortable and happy - they have also learned so much in their time at Merryhill. Nearly every day I'm surprised by something new they've learned - like my 4 year old learning how to count up to 100, count in tens, learning the months of the year, and starting to read. My youngest learns new words every day, has learned his colors, how to count to ten, and is learning important social skills (like how to share). My experience at this childcare facility left me feeling uncomfortable and ultimately led me to…read morewithdraw my children due to concerns about organization, communication, and safety. From the beginning, I felt rushed into bringing my children without being properly prepared. I was not clearly informed about what items I needed to provide for my children, the billing policy, or the exact amount I would owe. I asked multiple times for written confirmation of my monthly payment amount, but I never received anything by email. I was only given verbal estimates, which created confusion and uncertainty. One of my biggest concerns happened when my daughter was bitten by another child in her classroom. I understand that incidents can happen in childcare settings, and I do not blame the facility simply because a child bit another child. However, what made me extremely uncomfortable was the handling of the situation. The teacher stated in front of the director that she had already sent me an incident report, which was not true. I also never received a phone call regarding the injury. When I saw my daughter's injury, it was more severe than I had expected. The lack of communication and the fact that I felt I was given inaccurate information damaged my trust. After speaking with the director, we agreed to move my daughter to another classroom. Unfortunately, when my daughter returned after being absent for several days, nobody appeared to have prepared for her transition. Her belongings had not been moved, and no one was available to guide me to her new classroom. After waiting for quite some time, another staff member eventually assisted me, though she did not seem pleased to do so. Once I entered the classroom, it was clear the teacher seemed surprised and unprepared for my daughter's arrival. As a parent, that was concerning because transitioning a child into a new environment should feel organized and welcoming. I was also later emailed that I would be charged a late fee despite still not having clear information regarding the exact amount I owed or the due dates. In the end, my daughter was paid for the month but only attended a handful of times because I no longer felt comfortable with the overall environment. The disorganization, communication issues, and concerns regarding cleanliness made me feel that this was not the right place for my children.
