Very disappointed in the administration of this day care. My grand kids have gone there for a few years. On Thur 4/2 we were verbally assaulted by a teachers aid over a parking spot. They aide had previously been let go for drinking but claims to be an employee. Because the altercation happen in the parking lot nothing will be done. It took 2 weeks for corp to even investigate. I have video and a independent witness and plan to file formal complaints. It's not a matter of IF but WHEN this teachers anger gets the best of her. Kindergarten is aware of this teacher and still allows her to be alone with children. read more

Still extremely happy with this place for sure! The staff are amazing and treat each and every child as their own. They make my little girl feel so special it's crazy how much she enjoys going there. She has been loved from day one and it only gets better every month and year. When we have had any issues management has always stepped up and have tried to fix the. To our satisfaction, no place will be perfect but they are pretty close for sure. The only thing that this place could really use is maybe a little paint and some updates, it's not terrible but maybe a little paint to spruce things up. Last year before my daughter was born my wife and I visited over 15 "daycare" facilities everywhere from Downtown Sacramento, to Roseville, to Folsom and we felt this location was the cleanest and offered the best curriculum for our daughter at both 4 months old and 5 years old. Now that my daughter has attended kb for nearly 4 months I feel I can write a 100% honest review. Kb is more expensive than almost every school we viewed but there wasn't a single school as clean. My daughter loves going to "school" and has advanced far past her cousin or other kids her age that aren't in kb. Already she's crawling and loves to interact with people. Her favorite teacher is Miss Theresa. We can't say enough good things about kb, if you want the peace of mind your child is in good care and also will be challenged to excel and grow as a little human this is the place I recommend 100%. read more

We couldn't be happier with our experience at Knowledge Beginnings. My daughter started at KB when she was 6 weeks old and graduated from the Mandarin class just last year. When her current school is closed, my daughter is welcomed with open, loving arms by ALL the teachers she's grown up with, including the very involved, always smiling Center Director. Will they get sick? Of course! Will they get an occasional bump? Of course, they're kids, that's part of life! Keep them in a bubble if you're afraid of that and never enroll them in anything! Get them a pilot's license so they can operate that hovercraft with you! My now kindergartner is enrolled in their summer program and we can't wait to return "home" Yes, I highly recommend you give them a try! I can not say enough good things about this place. It's clean, organized, and the staff is very professional. My son has been attending for almost 5 years. They always go the extra mile for the students and parents! During Covid they have even set up a distance learning program to help the students attend their normal school via distance learning at KB. I wanted to wait a bit before writing a review. We love this place! My daughter has been attending three days a week for the last year. She is about to turn two next month, I can really tell being here has helped her blossom and she's learned so much! The staff are all wonderful. My daughter loves all of her teachers and is always bummed when it's time to leave for the day. They are super great about he fact that we are vegetarian. My daughter only attends for one meal (snack time) and they make sure she never gets any meat with her snack. I've noticed it's usually humus, cheese, crackers, fruits, veggies, nut butter.. and on special occasions I've seen cakes or cupcakes ( birthdays, holiday parties.) My daughter is only there 4 hours max, but she really has learned so much! At the end of the day they give you a paper filled out with how the day went. In the four hours, my daughter is usually changed 2 or 3 times and has her snack. In the year she's been there she has gotten hurt twice. (It happens! Toddlers who can't use their words sometimes use actions to get their point across.) One time she was bit, and one time she was pushed down. But, BOTH times the staff told us before we even picked her up, and gave her lots of TLC and ice. They really do care about these kids! Each kid has their own little cubby. So, If they loose a bow, or an article of clothing, or a paci.. it goes right into their cubby. I saw a previous review of a person saying they kept all pacifiers in a big bucket. I don't know if that was in the past, but I've never seen any cross contamination like that. They do however recommend not even bringing a paci because the other little ones like to try and snatch them. I've also noticed that during meal times, each kid has a labeled cup. It's very corporate (which I LOVE.) Cameras running 24/7 from every angle. If there is any kind of sickness making its rounds, they let the parents know asap. We can make payments online. It's all very easy. We plan on staying as long as we live in the area! If you're looking for a daycare, I know it's scary. And there are a million places... I know.. I looked at 6 myself. I really recommend popping in and having a tour! We genuinely love this daycare! read more

My wife and I have been so happy with this center. All of the teachers have been amazing and love on our kids. The administration, including the director, takes time to listen to each question and concern. The review below about biting really surprises me. I've know the administration for over 6 years now (we still have 2 of 3 kids enrolled), and we've never experienced that type of feedback from the director. She does everything in her power to watch out for the kids and protect them. It's a very busy center so of course you're going to get the occasional pink eye or HFM. As soon as a case has been identified all of the teachers work in overdrive to clean and sanitize everything. They even remove the child from the classroom to minimize those in contact until the parents can come pick them up. And stay late to make sure they are doing their part to stop the spread. I would definitely recommend this center to any family!!! read more

So in the process of enrolling my kid in a oreschool I have visited nerly all the preschools and montessoiri's in Rocklin Roseville area of Ca.mThe director of Knowledge Beginings was very sweet and so was the staff at the front.The school/Day care is big and they have a great mandarin class too. i wish they alo had spanish and maybe another southeast asin language or arabic class too. they also have extra 30 min classes for parents who want their children to gain some extra learning. You pay extra for these classes so in my opinion its just a money making thing. Why wouldnt they just be up to par in the curriculum in their regilar classes and make sure ALL children are able to catch up, and those who dont, IT IS the schools responsibility to see that each child gets the attention they need, An advice to all parents plz. PLZ PLZ PLZ do ur research, pop in unannounced and sit and watch your childs class and teachers. They have a fast teacher turnover so not all teachers are great, seem interested in kids and also not all teachers have great academic credentials. The lunch and snack they gave was basically dry cheese roll ups . Not healthy nor yummy. So they need to improve their food menu. I have seen so much better healthier and better portions of food in other schools. Also another advice for oarents. If your child is 3 and you want PRESCHOOL for your child and not Child care, then plz choose a school that is just preschool and Not a child care also. A child care has kids from 6 mnths onwards and just like this school, it gets soooo crowded and noisy. I have visited wonderful schools in the Bay area where kids were taught mannerism and the schools would be so peaceful and non chaotic. Not this school. So while this school was in my short list of schools that I liked, I chose Rocklin academy :) read more

My toddler loves Knowledge Beginnings. She is happy and excited to be there every day. It is very expensive, but the facility is clean and my daughter learns a lot, and loves her teachers. The social interaction she gets now will positively shape her future so we keep her there despite the cost. Unlike some of the other reviews I have read on Yelp we have never had a communication issue with the staff and we have always been notified if some kind of incident occurred. We have never had a concern that something might be wrong in a classroom. My only recommendation to the facility is to allow another other forms of credit payment other than a Discover card. read more

We couldn't be happier with KB. We have 3 kids ages 1-5 here and every teacher in each classroom has been so great to work with!! It's hard to believe we've been here 5 years already! I'm so thankful for the loving teachers and caring administration that make this school amazing!! We would definitely recommend this school to anyone! I am a 43 year old father of 3. Daughter 6, and twin boys 5. All of my children have been at knowledge beginnings; my boys currently still attend. I think it would be most appropriate to comment on two criteria: the management and the teachers, and both get positive reviews. Both of my boys have special needs, and they are currently in pre-kindergarten. The teachers have been fantastic at giving feedback on the day's activities for my wife and I. We both feel confident they are in the best place available. The teachers have a curriculum and provide kindergarten-readiness activities for the boys. The management is wonderful at accommodating our scheduling needs and communication regarding special events. The downside: it's expensive. Good things aren't cheap. I cannot list that as a "negative" to the institution, because I will not put a price tag on the well being of my kids. My family's experience has been very positive. When we initially went to the tour the ladies totally won us over and we immediately decided we would be taking our 3 month old babygirl to knowledge beginnings. She only went 2 days a week for maybe 4 weeks. It got worse with each drop off and pick up. I dropped her off and there were about 12 infants and 2 teachers (with a baby screaming on the floor). I asked if they had my daughters pacifier and they pulled out a basket of pacifiers and asked which one was hers! Yuck!!! Then i picked her up and as soon as i grabbed her i smelled #2. Then another time i walked in to pick her up and she was screaming on the floor. It gets better....my husband went to pick her up yesterday and she was on the floor screaming. He picked her up and noticed poo all down her leg which she clearly had been sitting in for awhile because he changed her and there was no poo. He then looked at her day sheet that showed she had only been changed maybe 4 times in 8 hours. Ridiculous! Then he called monday evening to tell them we wouldnt be bringing her back and explained all of the issues we had. The manager didnt apologize or even try to keep our business, just simply said okay. How pathetic. Ive been crying feeling pretty bad for leaving my child there 2x a week. Poor honey. read more

DO NOT leave your child with those people!!!! We had a horrible experience with this day care. My two year old daughter was fine first one or two days but after that she started to have temper tantrums every time we tried to leave her there. She was in Ms. Barbara's toddler class. Ms. Barbara did not even payed attention to my crying daughter when I left the room. She didn't even try to make her stop crying. I could see that on the screen in the hallway, since every classroom has a camera. We had enough when one day we picked up our daughter and she was so exhausted form crying that she couldn't even talk. She hit her finger so bad that the nail was completely dark blue. We did not receive any apologies or explanations. When I came to take her stuff home (wipes, diapers, clothes) Ms. Barbara couldn't manage to find 20 diapers and simply didn't give me them back. My daughter's eyes were red for three days after that incident and her finger was blue for about a month. Moreover, she was afraid of the kids on the playground after that, she was hiding behind my back all the time and cried every time someone approached her. We had to take 3 months brake before bringing her to another day care where she didn't cry even once. My biggest regret is that I didn't make a scandal and didn't say everything I think about Ms. Barbara and the director Shelly Duncan. read more

Just wanted to add more to my review: On each of the 3 occasions I was not contacted. After the 1st "incident" I demanded contact should anything else occur. Within 5 days he bitten 2 more times and I was NOT contacted. The last bite left a scare that is on his to this day. How long was my 2 year old left with a known biter? How long was that kid latched on to my poor babies face? I can only imagine the tears he must of shed and for NO ONE TO CALL ME after I specifically requested to be should ANY thing else occur. Sure not everyone has the same experience. But the literal mouth print scar on my 2 year olds face due to the negligence of an overcrowded class or incompetent "teacher" has me so against this place I will scream it from the rooftops. I am blown away with how much our son is thriving at Knowledge Beginnings. He has been there about 2 months now and started behind on his communication and gross motor skills! I'm happy to say he is starting to take a few steps and his language is starting to take off. The office staff and teachers are AMAZING! This was my first experience with sending a child at daycare and they were really understanding and made this transition for me easy. They also have an app where you can check on your child daily! Finding a school and child care is so important and often times a challenge depending on ages of your children, parent's schedules, finances. Knowledge Beginnings have a great program to meet both my children's needs and mine. We love the extra activities such as; water, park, feild trips, dance classes, phonics, language program and interactive learning the program provides. We love that both my Kindergartener and toddler can attend the same school and after school program that provides them with the ultimate learning experiences and we can feel comfortable that they are in a safe, clean environment with teachers who are experienced and care. Before selecting a daycare for my then 6 week old baby I did a ton of visits and research. Nothing compared to knowledge beginnings. Amberly and Monica the directors know every child and their parents name, and treat us as if we are their family. Whenever I have a concern I go to them and they always have my child's wellbeing as their top priority. They also do a a lot of art projects with the kids, that you get to bring home to put on the fridge! :) No matter what time of day I go pick up my child, the employees are all happy, and have smiles on their faces. If they enjoy their job, then I know they take the best care of my daughter. My daughter has a blast here, and leaves laughing everyday. I was a parent who was extremely nervous leaving my young child in a daycare, but I have a peace of mind leaving her here! read more

This is a horrible place. When you first tour, they act like they really care about you but once you get to know more about them then you find out the truth. The principal is the ring leader of this horror followed by her assistant. They have their kids at the center and of cos show a lot of favoritism. Their kids will have pizza in front of our kids who are fed other second alternatives. Each time I pick my kid, they complain they are hungry. Some of the other teachers are nice but they can't say much cos they have to protect their jobs. The place smells of dirty diapers. The teachers will gang up against your child. Am sure some of the parents don't know that yet. You are yet to find out. There are other places out there that are genuine. Go look. Good luck. read more

I have enrolled my 5 year old son in their Kindergarten program about a month ago. Although not too much time has lapsed, I can already tell the difference in comparison to other programs (including public transitional kindergarten) that he has attended. He has a bit of a speech set back, and his teacher is extremely patient with his needs as well as all of the other classmates. The curriculum he is already learning and coming home to tell me about is awesome! The center also provides breakfast, lunch, and two snacks, all very nutritional and appropriate for their ages. He's advancing far quicker than he did in his first year of transitional kindergarten and we couldn't be more pleased. read more

Our daughter is now in elementary school but KB prepared her well. She started KB in the infant room, continued to the mandarin immersion pre-school and attended the kindergarten program. All of the teachers are wonderful there and miss it dearly. The activities the children participated in were wonderful. The mandarin program is the best in the area. The children learn a curriculum in mandarin in the morning and then the same curriculum in English in the afternoon. It was essentially a full day preschool program. I highly recommend the mandarin program and the kindergarten program. Your child will learn a lot in a loving environment. My three year old hated this place the teacher was sarcastic and intolerant with the children. I would actually see her rolling her eyes at the kids. They provide a breakfast and I would sometimes hang out a little to help my daughter adjust to the drop off. One day a boy asked for more milk to drink and the teacher gave him less than a half inch in his cup. He asked for more twice and the teacher refused. I was appalled to think about how much the parents paid daily and the child could not even get a half of a glass of milk. A gallon cost $5 and his parents were paying that amount over and over all day long!! In the end my daughter would not tolerate this place and when I left I had to pay for two weeks that she literally would not attend. The start up fee and missed days fees are over the top! Great job KB!! We are so happy with this center. Our son started attending in the Infant room when he was about 4 months, and now he is 20 months and in the Toddler 1 room. We were recommended by my sister. Our niece attended while she was young and they both absolutely loved their time at KB. Our niece even still remembers her teachers and looks back on her time there with fond memories. To add to this, 2 of the infant teachers that she had during her time there are still in the infant room and remember her by name! She is now almost 12! I feel the longevity of these teacher's tenure there, as well as them remembering a single child almost 12 years later, definitely speaks to the center's family values. Our son loves his teachers and is always so happy when we pick him up in the afternoon. We can tell that he is thriving and blossoming because of the wonderful care and excellent attention to learning that he is receiving during his days at school. Now that he is getting bigger and more communicative, he is excited to show us and "talk to us" about what he has done during the day. We are constantly surprised and excited when he is able to recognize or "name" something because of what he learned during the day. The main reason I am writing this review today is because of something one of his teachers just shared with me this morning. We've known since he started in the Toddler 1 room that Mrs. Ariel has been working with the children on sign language, and Mrs. Carmen has been speaking Spanish and teaching them certain words and phrases. Our son easily now uses several signs to communicate and I've heard a few of his classmates greet him in Spanish in the mornings at drop off (we aren't quite there yet with our son, but I'm sure its coming!). This morning Mrs. Carmen told me that yesterday she asked our son to say please, but she asked him this in Spanish (por favor). And he responded to her by using the sign for please!! It is incredible to me that my English-speaking son was able to understand her request in Spanish and respond using sign language! And this is all thanks to Mrs. Carmen and Mrs. Ariel for their hard work and dedication to what they do. We have 2 kids currently here now & we've always loved it. My daughter started at 13 mo & is now in the kinder program there ! They've got the sweetest teachers who give you thoughtful updates & cute stories about their day. An example of their attentiveness, my son had an ear infection that i didn't know about because he never had fever & didn't tell us that his ear hurt. Miss Lisa mentioned to me that she noticed him tug his ear a few times & had a runny nose so i decided to just take him to the MD just in case. Turned out he had an ear infection! I will be eternally grateful for her catching that. We love all the teachers especially miss Carmen, miss Irene, miss marina, miss Tiffany, miss Ariel... the list goes on. The director (miss amberley) and other front staff (miss Monica, miss carol) are really good at communicating with you about upcoming activities, programs, reminders (Bc i need that!) they offer fun extras too... cooking class, phonics, dance, music, etc. i visited about 5 daycare centers before deciding on this one and i am so happy i chose KB. The mandarin program there is terrific too. They know a shocking amount of mandarin because the teachers are gentle patient people that know how to work with kids. Thank you KB! read more

My daughter started attending KB when she was 4 - in their Pre-K class. She absolutely loved it and excelled beautifully. When she graduated from that class, because of her January birthday, she was going to be in the Pre-K class again, but her teacher let me know she thought she would excel in their Kindergarten class, and if it was ok with us, they would allow her to be in that class even though she was only 4, turning 5. We accepted and she did wonderful. Miss Casey (Kindergarten) is an incredible teacher - kind, patient and so good with the kids. My son has also been attending KB since he was 4 - he had Ms. Amberly for Preshool, Ms. Stephanie for Pre-K nd then Ms. Monica for Pre-K - all are incredible, sweet, loving teachers. My son stutters and they have always worked with him, been patient with him and allowed his speech impediment to be a learning experience for the other children (wait until someone is done speaking, be patient). He's now in Kindergarten (Miss Casey) and he's doing great. At one point they even offered to take my son to his speech therapy sessions (the office was in the same building complex)! I've never doubted their ability to care for my children - I've only ever seen friendly, loving, patient teachers and staff. Highly recommend, and so glad I found KB! read more

We sent our infant son to Knowledge Beginnings part-time at around 7 months old. It is a wonderful facility with amazing, dedicated and nurturing teachers and staff. The teachers and staff have extensive experience in childcare and education and it shows. Tremendous care has been taken in the design and structure of the facility. In the infant room, it is extremely clean and organized. The babies are happy and have a lot to explore. Our son was super happy when I picked him up, so I know he always had a great experience. Love this center!!!! I am big on being able to pop in whenever. I feel that it's my child so I should have the right to do so. I have never had an issue whatsoever at any time just popping it. My work schedule fluctuates so although I have an idea of when I will be there I never really do. 99% of the teachers there are amazing! I would never keep my children in a place that I did not feel was top notch. I am an overprotective mother and they have never made me feel bad for being so. I would recommend them!!!! Is there room for improvement? Always with every place! But this center cares about what they are doing and if you are open and honest with them, they are with you. My children attended this center for complicated reasons. We only received one week notice that our Kindercare center on Cirby would be closing. We were given two choices for an alternative: Kindercare Granite Bay and Knowledge Beginnings. We were won over initially by Knowledge Beginnings due to Shelley (KB's director) being very persuasive and a professional enticer. She brought donuts and buckets filled with goodies during the closing of the Cirby facility. Even bragged to the children how awesome their summer program was, so of course my children we begging to go there! So I signed up. But once you're in, their staff could care less about you. Staff is always changing. It's hard to keep up who is actually watching your children everyday. The consistency lacked big time. Teachers showed preferential treatment in school age classrooms. Administration staff showed lack of compassion. They only care if tuition is paid (which they aren't consistent in collecting but still threaten with late fees) and if pick up is on time. Shelley is never there during pick up hours so if you have an issue it goes unaddressed for weeks. Unless SHE has an issue, then she'll call your cell phone and leave you rude voicemails. She once separated my child from his class and made him sit in a room alone to do homework! The Cirby location was always flexible, always compassionate toward my children (this should be a requirement) and personable. I am still sad Cirby closed down but I would recommend the Kindercare in Granite Bay over Knowledge Beginnings any day. read more
