Moonshine Deck is a great alternative to some of the crazier crowds on 20th street. It has ample room to accommadate large crowds AND enough bar space to not have any crazy wait times. The Atmosphere is pretty energetic and fun. There is a DJ most of the week and there are fun things like Singo, trivia, and such for those looking to go out on weekdays. Best ranchwaters on the street! They put the drink into topo chico bottles. The sad part is they pour out some topo to make room for the rest of the drink. I suggest asking the bar tender to poor that liquid gold into a seperate glass instead of wasting it. All I can say about the food is that it is ok. Pretty standard menu. We had the loaded fries and the brisket quesadillas. Would recommend splitting the quesadillas. read more

Cute place. Service was good. Mimosa tower was great. Ordered breakfast tacos with pulled pork. BBQ sauce was very overwhelming. After finishing one taco, i realized it didn't come with the scrambled eggs as advertised. Bit into the second, thought maybe they mixed it in there somewhere... nope. But now i had already gone through basically half the tacos and didn't want to be a tool and bring it up to the server. Absolutely love! Service is always great. Food is good, the brisket nachos are A-1! Jenna took the time to actually get to know my friends and me since we come often and has been the reason we continue to come back. My car was towed from that place's parking lot even though I was there the whole night. After I finished drinking there at 1:20am I went to the bar next door to let a friend know we were leaving and by 1:30am my car was gone. I would have expected towings towing at start at 2 or 3 am but as soon as they closed three wrecking companies started hauling out about four cars in the parking. Somehow got charged an additional $2 clearly for another tip. Unfortunately for me this extra $2 caused a NSF of charge of $34 with my financial institution. Moonshine Deck is probably one of my favorite bars in town at the moment. My friends and I always start off elsewhere in the Heights and somehow always end up here at some point. This place is massive and can accommodate large groups. There is just so much room to spread out. We have never had a problem finding a table or a spot on their extensive patio. If you want to catch a game, there are plenty of TVs. If you want to play a few games, they have corn hole or giant jenga. If you want to listen to good music, they have a DJ on certain nights. Inside they have huge tables if you're about the table service life. The drinks are always good, the beer is always cold. They even have a self serve tap wall if you want to sample a few different things and not wait for a bartender on a busy night. They have food trucks outside, but they also have pretty good food on premises as well. Parking can be a little tight, but it is the Heights, it is expected. Came here for trivia with a friend and had a great time. They have a huge open patio that was all decorated for Christmas but also has ample indoor seating. Dog friendly. Our waitress was lovely. Very attentive and fast! If you are like us, and looking for a new trivia spot since Beer Market closed this is pretty much the same experience! Probably a little more expensive, less beer selection, and a much further drive for us midtown folks, but overall the vibe and trivia were quite similar. The Trivia: great, efficient, easily visible on the many TV screens. I like that they had gift cards for top 5 rather than top 3. Always devastating to come in 4th and no gift card lol. The food: It's bar food, it's not bad. The brisket quesadilla was pretty tasty and my friend got the steak for steak night and said it was good. Not kid friendly during weekends. In case you don't know, now you do lol.. We were really looking forward to celebrating Mother's Day here, Unfortunately due to me not looking on the website our booked party of 20 was turned away because we had 2 minors with us. It was completely my fault as it is stated on their website that Weekends are 21 and up only. The place was completely empty with the exception of a couple sitting at the bar but I understand rules. I booked about a month in advanced and only saw that it was 21 and up after 7 pm but that doesn't apply to weekends. We scrambled to find a place that could accommodate such a big party on such a short notice and luckily we came across a sweet spot called Preslee's right down the street. They had awesome outside garden style sitting with swinging basket chairs, a long family style table with individual padded SWINGS as chairs, bar, Really cool Instagram style spots for pictures and some of the most southern hospitality style service you can find.
