Haven't been there since the pandemic for food. Very disappointed in the quality. Had stirfried chicken and prawns. Very bland in appearance and flavor. read more

I love Moons. And definitely miss the food!! Thankfully I can recreate what I learned. But still not the same, as from the kitchen. It's been a while since I have been there. Hopefully they did not change hands. read more

Came here with friends... left stuffed and satisfied. The asparagus rolled in ham appetizer was awesome, and the rolls were quite tasty! Service was good, will definitely come back when I'm in the area. read more

I came here with my parents who seemed to have fallen in love with the place. The potstickers were decent and their real lemonade was probably the best I have ever had. My girlfriend had the crunchy roll, which she said was disappointing. I had the Hot and Spicy BBQ chicken which, as the name states, is quite hot and spicy. The staff was nice, but not very engaging and the music being played in the place was moderate to annoying. Still a pretty decent place if you're craving Japanese food in good old Morgan Hill. read more

Very friendly service. Food is bland. I am picky about Asian food being Asian, I compare the food to what I grew up with. Very disapointed. read more

Very tasty food. Loved the dessert special. I will definitely be back when I pass through town again.

The lady who is at the front is quite nice and friendly. However, for the price, the quality of the food is lacking. I ordered the special off the board to take away, which said it comes with miso soup, only to find out afterwards that they don't give you miso soup if you order take away. It would be nice to clarify this beforehand for customers. Good: the restaurant is clean and tidy, friendly people, plenty of seating, relatively quiet inside. Not-so-good: greasy food (seemed strange for me for Japanese food), iceberg lettuce salad. read more

One of my all time favorites when I come to the south bay. I grew up in Gilroy and was a frequent patron of that location. Great food, reasonably priced and service is excellent. I usually get bento or spicy vegetable dish. read more

My parents love this restaurant. We have been coming to Moon's Kitchen for more than a decade. My favorite is the bbq chicken. The service is very friendly. read more

Excellent quality fresh food, wonderful customer service and cute deco! Recommend the pot stickers, amazing sauce! read more

Moon's Kitchen - Japanese Near Me - Morgan Hill, California

My girlfriend and I love coming to eat at this place. The staff always greet us with a smile and are very attentive and polite. The food is delicious and the reason why we come here three to four times a month. We usually orders the bento box with either the teriyaki chicken or beef and cal rolls, tofu, and vegetable tempura. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. read more

My go to dish here is the House Combo with Tempura & Teriyaki Beef which always satisfies. I've also had the Prawns & Chicken Teriyaki with Mushrooms as a "healthier" option. The portion sizes are not skimpy at all. But my favorite thing is their salad dressing on their chicken salad. It's so vinegary fantastic! And the ladies there are always nice. read more

Call ahead if ordering to go or you will wait a long time. I wish they had more sushi items. I usually order vegetable tempura it us very good but ut comes with ranch, not a traditional dipping sweet sauce. read more

Nice and clean little restaurant. Decent Korean / Japanese food, actually pretty good foods for over all. Usually, packed in lunch hour and see a lot of ANRITSU's faces. Friendly staff, but needs improve. Over all great! read more

Moon's was one of my favorite places for Asian food growing up. Selection was limited years ago in Morgan Hill, but Moon's was still great. Looks like is could use a refresh. Food was just ok and the place was a ghost town on a Saturday night. Food was greasy and overpriced. Just doesn't have the same great food and family owned feel that it used to. Kind of depressing after years of being a great place. read more

I've ordered take out a few times and always get the garlic chicken with rice. It's pretty good. I've tried the egg rolls and don't recommend them. The chicken salad is really good as a side dish. I'm not sure it would make for a good entree because it's so light. Nice staff. read more

Two Words: CRUNCHY ROLL!!!! by far the best thing The hubby and I ever Eaten!!! We ALWAYS get it... sometimes twice aweek!! if we cant decide what/where to eat... it always comes down to the darn crunchy roll!!! yumm!! havent honestly tried to much other stuff... chicken is good there, so is dessert!!hahaha but i recomend the CRUNCHY ROLL read more

The food is good.... I have never had anything I didn't like but I never leave feeling full unless I spent a lot more than I want too. I just feel like this place is a little to pricey for the lack of fullness you get from it . There salad is my favorite thing because its flavor but it is about $6 for a medium and has never has filled me up. The serves is fast and friendly , the place feels clean, and they take card so overall I would say this place is okay. read more

A small whole in the wall place that is always packed. They have strange business hours tho. When I worked in town I would call in my order and pick it up at least once a week for lunch. I would only eat the beef teriyaki lunch that comes with the beef, steamed rice and a small salad, or the chicken salad. Both of those are to die for. They serve sushi also which I heard is good. Not a raw fish eater so I dont know offhand. read more

Oh my - what a great little place. Had a couple of appetizers - asparagus wrapped in ham, slightly tempura'd with a lemony, tangy sauce.....I am addicted now! Also had the spring rolls which were good but not quite as good as the asparagus. Ordered a combo plate so I could try a bunch of different things - all really good - the kabob meat was steamed and then put on the grill and all cooked well with the veggies - the korean beef was really good as was the chicken. Also came with a chinese chicken salad which was a great change over the normal green salad you get at Japanese/Sushi places. Quite a little hybrid of styles and food but really, really good nonetheless! read more

Great food and service. The chicken salad is to die for! The place is very clean inside and has a nice atmosphere even though it's located in a not so great shopping center. read more

I lived in Morgan Hill 20+ years. This place has always been here. Im not sure why they are still in business when so many other restaurants come and go. I came here the other night, and Ieft even more confused. Yes, it is decent food, but so is hotdog-on-a-stick. Lots of teriyaki chicken/beef options. Do not expect rolls and/or sushi. Small portions, high prices. Not really japanese food. read more

Ive lived in Morgan Hill for over 25 years and have been coming to Moon's Kitchen since I was in high school like 10 years ago! Moon's Kitchen used to be my families go-to restaurant! The food and service has declined over the years. The last time I went, I was with my family (all 7 of us!), we received awful service and the waitress was rude to my 3 year old niece who was playing at the table next to us. The food is still decent but i dont think ill be back! read more

I only been here twice but both times I been very disappointed. Today I got Udon Soup with chicken and veggies. it was so bland with only three piece of chicken and near none veggies. The broth tasted like water... I added a seaweed salad and they gave me the smallest portion for $5. I get more seaweed salad when i order poke bowls at other places. The miso soup was so salty. Not coming back. Stars are from clean place and nice quiet servers read more

I love this food. A very good place to eat with an unusual Asian style menu that seems to be mostly Japanese (teriyaki, sushi and tempura) and part Chinese (stir fry) and part who knows what. Unlike most Japanese restaurants, they are many spicy items on the menu. The staff is very friendly and the service good. The atmosphere is casual and maybe a bit stark. A good place to call in an order for takeout. I like the Chinese chicken salad and almost always get the spicy pork stir fry. A meal comes with miso soup, Chinese chicken salad and rice. read more

Sadly such a waste of time. Took forever to get our food on a Tuesday evening. I ordered the Miso Ramen and California roll combo. Husband had the chicken teriyaki and the California roll bento box. Nothing crazy. The Ramen was bland and looked like they picked it up at the dollar tree next door. Somehow it also had a very strange smell to it. The California roll was also bland and didn't seem all that fresh. Husband liked his food, so that's good, I guess. read more

They have the best spider rolls and Korean Kalbi. The waitress that works there has been there forever and is super nice. It's definitely one of the better Asian food places in Morgan Hill read more

Picked up a to go order. Got my usual Combo II, always hits the spot. California rolls are a great addition to any meal. Service is great. Prices are reasonable. Check out their specials each night. Great for a quick lunch or dinner. read more

The food and the service was really bad. The last time I ate there my sister and I were ignored by the very grumpy and rude owner. She did not think it was very important to be friendly to us at all. I was very disappointed because years ago this was a very nice place. It looks like they haven't done anything in the past 15 years to keep the place looking nice either. I will NEVER go here again. If you want good sushi and friendly service go to Sushi Ichiban read more

I always get my food to go and you can't go wrong with the spicy ginger pork with vegetables, kids chicken teriyaki, miso soup, and the beef and broccoli. Oh the crunch rolls and CA rolls are really good too. I'm half Japanese and picky so there's that. read more

I heard the teriyaki was good so I tried it at lunch time. I was disappointed completely. Chicken breast teriyaki with mushrooms and tempura bento box was weird it was served with chicken salad and a side of salad dressing? side of teriyaki sauce and no tempura dipping sauce. Even the brown rice did not taste good. Only thing good was my ice tea. I won't go back. read more

I had the Ramyun - spicy korean soup. Its really ramen. It was tasty and filling, but not spicy. I like this place because I know they offer some Korean food choices. I'd love to see more korean food on the menu! There are no Korean places in MH. read more

Excellent food!! Great service!! I've been conning here for years and years. I have the hot and spicy pork with veg. It's always been great every time!!! Glad it's still here!! read more

Open at 11am for lunch!! 3 of us girls were looking for a lunch place but squeezed on time..great service..killer prices..lunch specials..really good quality sushi.. would go again read more

See all

On the pricey side but the sushi is decent and the lunch specials are pretty well rounded if you want a little salad, miso soup, some chicken/beef teryaki, and maybe some vegetable tempura. I have been here 5 or so times and the service has been quick and I like the fact that they keep the restaurant clean. Beer/Wine is overpriced so you might want to avoid drinking if your on a budget. read more

I have been eating here ever since the Lee family started this restaurant...and they are like family. There are new owners but it's still in the family. Nothing has changed so far same ingredients and cooks so that's a huge plus. The rice is fresh and they will cook the food how ever you tell them too... so speak up, don't take the food how they made it and write a bad review, speak up for yourself tell them what you like or how its cooked, they will do it for you , Recommend the teriyaki salmon if you like seafood. The BBQ chicken breast "spicy" if Delicious as well, i get it with no Vege's they give you more chicken. if your a meat lover then get the beef teriyaki or the Galibi "Korean short ribs" For an appetizer you can get the crunch rolls or the man-do " fried pot stickers" But i always get the kimchi. If your not full then they have a great deep fried banana with vanilla ice cream. read more

This is one of my fav resturants in MH, my family and I have been coming here for years. Granted its not really authentic Japanesse its more like japanesse inspired, but it tastes great. Some things you do have to be specific on what you order, and if you dont like vinger make sure to ask for no dressing on the salad. But for the most part there food is alwasy great, and the service never dissapoints :) read more

We really like this restaurant. They have many different things from sushi to teriyaki. The restaurant is clean and the employees are polite and sweet. I have not had a bad experience here. I always leave Moon's feeling like I got my money's worth. read more
