Finally decided to drop in here for lunch several months ago and have been going at least once a week since. I love just about anything teriyaki and the chicken breast with mushrooms Bento box with potstickers is my go to item here. It's a nice presentation with chicken salad with a warm gingery dressing, steamed rice, and a spicy vinegary sauce for the potstickers. For the Bento boxes you order the main and one or two add-on items. You also get a bowl of miso soup. I finally tried the tempura the other day and wish I had tried it sooner! I believe that if the government found out about it they would make it illegal. ;) It's so crispy! The seafood Yakisoba is also very good but for me a little heavy for lunch. Will save that one for dinner. I really like the Bento boxes for lunch because they have just the right portion that leaves me satisfied. Service is warm and friendly. read more

Moons is very unique for a Japanese so it's not always what you expect but I can say the Crunchy Rolls are by far the BEST rolls we have ever had. Def. worth trying! read more

My family and I just love moons and the staff! My younger son always hugs the staff and tells them thank you for dinner. My children can be picky eaters and love eating here! We always start with edimame and a crunchy roll! I like the spicy chicken and vegetables or chicken teriyaki with mushrooms. The prices are a tad high but it's worth it. Great little spot not big very cozy dinning area the staff is super nice there food was great my new favorite spot for Japanese / Korean cuisine. Moon's is one of our (extended) family's alltime favorites...a real Morgan Hill institution. I have a long history with this little fabulous restaurant in my hometown of Morgan Hill. Used to live around the corner from Moon's in an apartment before I was married (almost 20 years ago!), and their delicious and fairly priced food sustained me and my roommates on many a night. My brother and his family moved to Oregon years back, but when they visit MH they MUST have certain foods from both Moon's and Super Taqueria. Every visit! My parents, husband and kids are in love with it too. The family who owns this place are very warm and kind, whether we order takeout or eat in. On our takeout visit tonight, we noticed the decor has been updated, and looks modern and inviting for a modest local restaurant. Some of our favorites: The miso soup - hot and comforting; vegetable tempura with ranch sauce for dipping (mmm the yams are so great!); fluffy white rice; teriyaki anything - the sauce is special and not grossly sweet. Garlic beef with mixed vegetables is my top pick. My parents don't deviate from the hot & spicy pork dish. All around great Asian-style comfort food! read more

Food was awesome =) Had dinner with my mom and son. Walked in, was seated promptly. They have bottled water =). A younger server, maybe in her late 20's, was super friendly. We haven't been here in a while but this use to be one of my fave place to go but now they have changed manager and possibly cook also. Everything taste different. Sushi is not fresh, Chicken salad is all wilted and taste different. Even the Ranch dressing sucks. Barbecue is too sweet. So very disappointing. Food sucks at the place now. This was quite possible the worst meal I have ever had from a restaurant. I ordered the 2 pieces of fish with rice and it was literally 1 scoop of plain white rice and 2 fish sticks. The pieces of fish were very thin and mealy on the inside, and tasted like they were probably frozen. This meal is extremely overpriced at $10.95 when I could probably make this at home for under $3. For many years, I passed by this restaurant and wondered what it was like. So one cold winter night, my wife and I wandered in. We ordered noodle soup, and we found it both over-priced and without taste. The noodles seemed to be the cheap $1 packaged ramen kind, and the soup had absolutely no flavor. The server was nice, but we came for a good meal and we had to go home and make something. Well, our curiosity was satisfied but I guess this is the kind of restaurant that appeals mostly to people who are not seeking authentic or special Asian food. read more

Moon's is actually a Korean restaurant that serves excellent Korean BBQ, home-made kimchee (spicy pickled cabbage) and a variety of 'borrowed' Asian fare, such as shrimp-tempura maki and Unagi (Japanese) as well as American inventions like Chinese chicken salad. The lemonade is real, the tempura hot and the daily specials large. The waitresses own the joint and are interested in making customers happy. There are plenty of regulars which says it all - this is a place that makes you feel good and feel full, and you can do it for ten bucks a head. read more

This is a decent place, but it's more like 1/2 Japanese 1/2 Korean. The food was good, but way over priced for what it was. I went to Moon' s Kitchen with a pretty good appetite and ready to chow down. There were no other customers in the restaurant. Unfortunately the lady there refused to acknowledge me or even look at me although I was stand 5 feet away from her. A white customer walked in after me was cordially greeted, and immediately seated. Eye contact with the white customer was immediate . Still being ignored I decided to leave and spend my money somewhere else. It was an irritating, insulting, and disappointing experience to see blatant racial bigotry in full display there. This is 2019 and black people still have to deal with denial of service. On a positive note actually I am kind of glad that this woman was upfront about not wanting my patronage. The last thing I need is to have them spitting in my food out of spite. So if you are black, or latino i would strongly discourage people eating there, especially if you are a black person. Stay away from Moon's Kitchen and other racist establishments. We are supposed to be trying to bring the country together and intentionally show hatred. read more

I love Moon's Kitchen. The location is not the easiest to find but it's worth it if you stop and eat. The staff is super sweet. Moon's is actually a Korean joint, kids. The maki and other Japanese items are really not their specialty. Try the kim chee - it's homemade and spicy good! Go for the Korean BBQ dishes - all good. I ordered some take out and the food was fresh and still hot. It was served very promptly. I ordered the bento box and was pleasantly surprised as it was a healthy and light choice. The food was very enjoyable and delicious, my only complaint is it set me back $12 for one medium sided meal, no drink. read more

Overall, my family really likes the food-the kids love the chicken terriyaki kids meal with rice and I love that it's not a burger and fries as at most local restaurants' kids meals. My husband really likes sushi, and only rates their sushi as so-so and their hours are horrible-dinner doesn't start until 5 and they are not open on Sundays at all. I realize it's a family owned establishment, but c'mon, we eat out on the weekends! There have been many a time when we *would* have eaten at Moon's but they were closed which makes it less appealing overall. read more
