Back story: I walked in, as I've done several times in the past, to get a massage from Bella. Bella was in the waiting room clearly available. She stops me and says "did you schedule an appointment with Bella?" I said no, not realizing that was an issue. But said, I would like a massage with her and clearly she's available. She said "no. You didn't book online so you must take next available." I responded that I'm here for a massage with her and clearly she's available, but she again refused and said I had to take next available. She seemed to want to pick a fight, but I had no idea why as I was happy and excited when I walked in the door, but now I'm confused and feel like I'm being cornered and under attack for some reason unknown to me. I then doubled down and asked if she was refusing to let me have a session with Bella and she said yes. I said "okay. Then I'll leave as I'm not interested in trying someone new." If you've ever had a massage then you know the quality varies drastically. My wife has had a few massages there and said they were all "okay". However the massage with Bella was the best I've ever had. She's truly exceptional, so no I wasn't interested in next available. I picked the Tai/Combo massage (from the website: techniques from Thai, Swedish, deep tissue and other styles). I was in heaven. The woman doing the massage rubbed on me, and was up on the table with me a couple of times to stretch and move my body around. It was all wonderful. My hour was up and I felt like jelly. At checkout, they gave me a bottle of water and that was nice. I am all for self-care these days, and this was a good way to spend $70 for an hour of Zen.

With that said, not only did I NOT receive a thai massage, they had me undress (which you don't do in thai massage) and what followed was the worst massage of my life. I booked a traditional thai massage, confirmed when I got to the desk, and then restated that's what I wanted when they found me fully clothed waiting. They told me THEIR thai massage had oil and I was to remove my clothes but keep my underwear on. I told them I just wanted a traditional Thai Massage. (Which shouldn't be in their business name and on their menu if that's not what they do?) I 1,000% know it is illegal to uncover someone's glutes fully, but that didn't stop my therapist from pulling not only the blanket down to my thighs, but also pulling my underwear (a thong which already exposed the sides of my glutes) down to my thighs, fully exposing my entire butt. Let me be clear, this is absolutely illegal and unprofessional, there is a law specifically stating you cannot do this. EVER. - not to mention I am a female and my therapist was a male. It was clear this therapist wasn't trained in hot stones (something else I'm trained in), and the massage itself was abysmal. If they were in massage school and this was their final, they would not pass. And they shouldn't have. Afterwards I again asked the front desk about ACTUAL Thai Massage and if they dont have thai massage where else does - they said that there's one woman on staff who provides it (who obviously wasn't available when I came in). I don't know why she didn't just tell me this to begin with instead of take my money and my peace of mind. I left here a thoroughly unsatisfied customer. If the (NOT Thai) Massage had been good, I wouldn't have been so upset over her deception. But to lie to me, and then get something so sub par? I would NEVER do this to a client. I'd give 0/5 stars if I could. And truly unless you know a therapist at this business that's actually good, I wouldn't recommend anyone go. I had my first massage at Lux Thai Spa today. It was a great Thai massage with Kira. I told her and…read morethe receptionist about a few areas of chronic pain and tightness (mainly lower back and hips) and also a recent tennis elbow issue. Kira did a great whole body massage with focus on these areas in particular. The back walking and massage were moderate to deep per my request and were fantastic. I also requested stretching and the stretching was both pretty intense and very therapeutic--I felt great afterwards. I have had numerous Thai massages at several different places and they all blow Swedish massage and places like Massage Envy out of the water. This was probably the most stretching I've ever had and Kira really worked hard on the areas I requested. Both she and the receptionist were very nice, they requested pertinent medical history before the massage, the facility was very clean and the environment was relaxing. The only negative is that there is a 3% fee for using a credit card but that's pretty minor. I could tell Kira is experienced because she was very confident and efficient and frequently asked how I was doing with the pressure and stretching. Highly recommend Lux Tha Spa, I know I'll be back!

Opted for the hour and was taken to the room at the rear right and asked to undress. covered the whole time, except when stretching my legs. I've had Thai massages in LA, near Thai Town so knew what to expect. The Thai lady (don't recall name), was very professional and focused on the issues that I asked. This is a fairly new business (previous Thai Massage at same location, but different owner). I recommend if you are looking to get some of the kinks worked out by professional MT in a relaxing environment. I admit I was a little sore the next day from being stretched, but that didn't last long. I will definitely return.
