Best massage in Dallas without the frills!…read more My husband and I get couples massages at E&J and always feel so much better when we leave. He and I have different pressure preferences so I can guarantee they cater to people with opposing needs. I also believe it is a husband/wife duo that owns the spa and they are both so kind! I was in the spa one day when a customer was getting heated over not receiving service because they were late to their appointment, and the owners handled the uncomfortable conflict with such grace that I commend them for. Upon arrival, they offer tea while you wait and provide water and candy when you leave, but other than that, they don't do extreme decor, music, or aromatherapy like some other salons, but I personally enjoy the good quality massage at a decent price over an expensive Massage just for the aesthetic. If you are looking to get a good quality massage, definitely check out E&J!

I picked this place based on reviews, and being able to get in the same day. I sent a message on Yelp, and then set up my appointment via text. I showed up for my appointment and completed a one-page check in sheet about pains, etc. Then I was in my room, undressed, under the sheet in no time. I picked the Tai/Combo massage (from the website: techniques from Thai, Swedish, deep tissue and other styles). I was in heaven. The woman doing the massage rubbed on me, and was up on the table with me a couple of times to stretch and move my body around. It was all wonderful. My hour was up and I felt like jelly. At checkout, they gave me a bottle of water and that was nice. I am all for self-care these days, and this was a good way to spend $70 for an hour of Zen.

I want to preface this with I AM a Massage therapist and have been for a decade. As such I was so…read moreexcited to book a Traditional Thai Massage (one of the modalities I'm trained in). With that said, not only did I NOT receive a thai massage, they had me undress (which you don't do in thai massage) and what followed was the worst massage of my life. I booked a traditional thai massage, confirmed when I got to the desk, and then restated that's what I wanted when they found me fully clothed waiting. They told me THEIR thai massage had oil and I was to remove my clothes but keep my underwear on. I told them I just wanted a traditional Thai Massage. (Which shouldn't be in their business name and on their menu if that's not what they do?) I 1,000% know it is illegal to uncover someone's glutes fully, but that didn't stop my therapist from pulling not only the blanket down to my thighs, but also pulling my underwear (a thong which already exposed the sides of my glutes) down to my thighs, fully exposing my entire butt. Let me be clear, this is absolutely illegal and unprofessional, there is a law specifically stating you cannot do this. EVER. - not to mention I am a female and my therapist was a male. It was clear this therapist wasn't trained in hot stones (something else I'm trained in), and the massage itself was abysmal. If they were in massage school and this was their final, they would not pass. And they shouldn't have. Afterwards I again asked the front desk about ACTUAL Thai Massage and if they dont have thai massage where else does - they said that there's one woman on staff who provides it (who obviously wasn't available when I came in). I don't know why she didn't just tell me this to begin with instead of take my money and my peace of mind. I left here a thoroughly unsatisfied customer. If the (NOT Thai) Massage had been good, I wouldn't have been so upset over her deception. But to lie to me, and then get something so sub par? I would NEVER do this to a client. I'd give 0/5 stars if I could. And truly unless you know a therapist at this business that's actually good, I wouldn't recommend anyone go. I even came on yelp to read the reviews and thought it'd be a good choice. Nope.

From the outside of the building I didn't know what to expect, and the elevator to the suites was out of service. Turns out you have to temporarily use the stairs in the back of the building and Grace met me to ensure entry. No biggie. Upon entering, I could immediately tell the outside of the building didn't depict the inside at all--I'm talking immediate elevation (and my type of atmosphere). Grace and Niki own 2 suites and I was immediately taken to mine; it was nice, clean and had the mood I was looking for. I always request a firm pressure, and Niki did her thing. She massaged and stretched every part of my body and it felt great. I love a good combo massage (90 min minimum, by the way), but especially loved that she didn't walk too much on my body. Again, I love this about a combo massage, but some therapists do too much walking. Niki was also attentive to my congestion that arose during the massage, and provided oil (I think) to inhale to clear it up. Nice touch! It was a very pleasurable experience and absolutely what I needed after grinding in the gym. I'll probably go back within a month!! Go visit!

I agreed because I thought it would be a more controlled, therapeutic technique, but it ended up being extremely intense and made the experience uncomfortable.
