I really wanted to like this place. Someone who gets massages weekly. I just moved to Richardson from Houston. I would go to Cloud 9 every weekend in Houston for my self care massages. Since June I have been looking for a Massage place I can call home. I booked the night before for a full body massage. My appointment was at 10am and I arrived 15min before. Upon arrival the door was open and no one was at the front desk. I waited for a good 10min completed the intake form that was sitting on the counter and waited. Finally someone came to the front and questioned if I had an appointment. (I'm assuming because I booked the night before they didn't have a record of it? Idk). However, I showed the lady my booking confirmation on my phone and she proceeded to guide me to the room. The massage started off amazing, perfect pressure truly relaxing amazing massage. I was laying there thinking okay despite the arrival this will be my home. Then within the last 15-20 min of my massage some lady, assuming another therapist, barges in my room and starts talking in their native tongue to my therapist while she was massaging me. It wasn't a quiet quick question type of talk, it was loud abrasive and she talked to her the entire last 20 min of my massage. I truly could not believe what was going on. Then when my massage was over my therapist walked me to the front and told me because I'm paying with tap it was an additional $5. Okay whatever I didn't mind. The massage was $70 and the tap made it $75. Then she says "how much you adding for tip"? I looked at her and said "are you serious? When you and that other lady had a full on conversation the last 20 min of my massage? That was rude, inconsiderate, and definitely not professional. I'm paying $75." I really wanted to love this spot. It's not far from my house and the massage was great. But the customer service was horrible. read more

I requested a man & asked he go light. You can always have your special request and they accommodate. Started w head, feet then back and rest of body. Happy Feet has now changed its name to Foot Joy. There is a Foot Joy in Carrollton so I can safely assume they were bought over by the Carrollton location. It seems as if every Chinese Massage Center is offering a special for $30 which includes a foot massage integrating the practice of reflexology as well as a body massage. 45 minutes for the foot massage and 15 for the body massage. The place is tiny and pretty old. We started in the back where a Chinese movie with no sub titles was playing. They start by placing your feet into herbal water and then a massage for your feet. I had a guy who hit on the pressure points. I could definitely feel it! This is the 3rd place I've been to and they're the only ones who have ever hit the pressure points. It seemed like he knew what was he was doing. Next, I had to physically move from the reclining chair to a table for my body massage. I had good pressure and he got my knots out. He climbed ON TOP of the table and STRADDLED me! It made me kind of nervous but I eventually relaxed myself and let him do what he had to do. With a good, there's a bad. This place is small and really old. The chairs were old. It's one big room with dividers so you can hear everything. It's not too private either. When I moved to the table for my massage, I had to move again so someone who had an appointment for a full body massage could have that table in the private room. MY table was in the FRONT next the register in front of EVERYONE! If you opened the front door, you would see me getting my full body massage! How weird!!!! No privacy! So for technique, I'll give it an A but for the environment, ehh... I'll keep trying to find a different place. Hopefully I can get both the experience and technique in one place. read more

The lady at the front didn't speak any English but she called her manager. She asked me to speak to him and he told me that he will get a male and female masseuse for our massages. We chose the 60 minute combo pack with back and foot massage. The lady got us comfortable in the room and soaked our feet in warm water. It took a while for the male masseuse to come in, about 15 minutes or so. The massage was great, they seem to know what they're doing and took out some knots from my back. For those who don't know, there is a few block area just east of 75 on Beltline that has a ton of great stuff like Dim Sum at Kirin Court and awesome Chinese food at Chinese BBQ. But food isn't the only the little piece of heaven this Asian area has to offer to Dallas. There is a little store called Foot Joy. I have driven past it a thousand times and thought more about "shady happy endings" then I have about the greatest deal in Dallas!!!! A buddy of mine took me there and this little gem is a place you have to check out. For $30, you get a bottle of water, a 40 minute foot rub and a 20 minute back rub on a massage table. Yep, that's a 60 minute rub down for less than a price of pizza at Compania!!!! What it lacks in fanciness it makes up in service and price. It is so cheap that I have been back three times. I think the next time I go I'm going to get the 90 minute package which is a 50 minute foot rub and a 40 minute table massage for $50!!!!! Take that fancy pants spas at hotels. In all seriousness, if you are looking for a great way to spend a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, go to Dim Sum at Kirin Court and then head over to Foot Joy for a little pampering while you digest your dumplings. Btw, when I say foot rub, I mean a complete rub down of your calves, ankles, feet, arches and toes by a little Chinese lady that has hands so strong that she could break your fingers with a simple handshake. Check this place out and definitely don't judge this great book by its cover! I promise you won't be disappointed. So on our recent travels to Taiwan, we made sure we got as many foot massages as possible. In Taipei and in Kaoshiong, foot massages can be had for $10 for 30 min. So "reflexology", is the practice of healing through all the pressure points in the feet. Believe it or not, there are nerves all over in the feet that are connected to one of your other systems. Case in point, my wife had some digestive problems near the end of the trip from the foreign food. The reflexologist (store trained foot massager) got to that part of the foot and immediately tells her "Bad". He didn't know any other English. So when I got in, he asked me if my wife had digestive issues. He then worked on that part of the foot and the next day, my wife's appetite came back. Now the reflexologists at Happy Feet are not at the caliber of Taiwan. There's a few of them with the skills necessary and do a pretty good job. The Taiwanese ones are apprenticed by the store until they're ready to go alone. They train for months and work there for years. Happy Feet just opened 4 months ago. Prices are definitely reasonable. A full hour of total body massage is $40. 45 min of foot massage is only $25. They are running a special where they massage your feet for 45 min and then you get a chair massage for 15min, all for $30. They soak your feet in chinese herbs for 10 min before they start, which in itself is pretty freakin amazing. Thing is, the expertise of the people are spotty. Not all of them know what they are doing so if you find someone who you like, stay with him/ her. Business has been so good, the owner opened one more location in Plano and plans for 1 location in Koreatown and 1 location in Plano. read more

At some points the foot massage was really painful but I told the woman to do it softer and then it was fine. I heard about Happy Feet from a massage therapist at the Stoneleigh Spa. I was excited about the $30, 60-minute massage special (45-minute foot massage, 15-minute chair massage). I am training for the White Rock marathon and my feet were in desperate need of attention. I was pleasantly greeted and taken back to a room with big comfy chairs. I was given an interesting mix of grapes, grape tomatoes and a stick of gum...sound odd? It is. Especially considering the flavor of the gum got semi-absorbed by the grapes. My technician was a little rough but my feet felt a lot better. The 15-minute chair massage also finished a little rough with the tech "gently" pounding me. When it was over, I felt better but had to take some deep breaths to get through it because she did not understand me when I requested lighter pounding. I will go back but request a different tech. Foot Joy is a hidden GEM! For $50 you get a 45min back rub and 45min foot rub... this isn't sissy stuff it's reflexology, deeper than deep tissue, it hurts at some points on your feet but it's a hurt so good kind of thing. You sit in huge lazy boy reclining chairs and they have flats screen TVs, its great in the fall because they have college football on! I'd recommend wearing a tank top for the back rub so they can really access your shoulders etc. Drink lots of water afterward like you would with any massage. read more

This place is great! The staff is friendly and you are pampered from the second you walk in the door. I went with the 30 minute feet + 30 minute body massage for $40 (total), and it was a great deal. It includes a foot soak, lengthy massage of each foot/lower leg, and 30 minutes of back/arm massage. The shop is set up with several areas divided by curtains, and they keep the lights low to make it more relaxing. Once you lay down, the rest of the massage runs like clockwork. I think it's more fun to go with a few friends, even though you aren't talking throughout the massage. This spa can handle at least 5+ people at a time, if not more (there was another room I didn't see into). Just remember you are getting a combination of foot reflexology and back massage, so the experience is a bit different than your standard whole-body massage. They apply more precise pressure with their thumbs and fingers in addition to broad strokes like a traditional massage. That's the best way I know to describe it, and I found it very relaxing. Some people say you can be sore the next day, but I didn't find this to be true. There are a lot of similar-looking foot reflexology places out there, especially in this part of town, so make sure you go to the right one! After I left, I felt ok but then the next day when I start cutting hair, i notice my right shoulder was very very sort and hurt. I even have a problem using my right hand for my mouse. The feeling of my right shoulder feel like someone using the needle poke me that kind of feeling. I felt bad he work hard for it but I was wrong. Okay, so I'm not sure how I missed writing up this foot massage/reflexology place but I have and for that, I'm sorry. We'll start off on price because for some people that makes a difference. This place, for an hour of massage, you get 30 minutes feet and 30 minutes whole body. That's $40. That's standard pricing all the time. Any other massage place would charge you $60-80. It's a bit ridiculous. Now this massage isn't like what you get from Massage Envy or Massage Co. This is a timed/proceduralized massage. It follows almost to the minute exactly what you're going to get. It's not bad, it's just not customized to you. They first soak your feet in water which is pretty standard for most of these places. As they're doing that, they'll massage your face and shoulders, neck and scalp. It's pretty relaxing. I think at one point I basically fell asleep. Then they do the foot massage and once that's over, you flip over and they do your back. All together, it's a great deal for $40. There are other places for $29 and they're about the same so you may look around for a cheaper price but we like this place. The management seems very nice and the guy always recognizes me. I wear heels for work and by the end of the day I am pretty wiped out from the pain and swelling. Thought I would give this place a try since I had a Groupon and loved the reflexology massage I had had at another place for double the price about a year ago. Upon entering the establishment, it had the atmosphere of what I can imagine an opium den would be like. It was very dark and had many cots and recliners placed close together. Several elderly Asian folks were passed out snoring gently in apparent contentment. My masseuse May spoke extremely limited English as did the other employees. I was guided to table and was provided with a bottle of water and instructed to place my feet in a bowl of scented warm water. The soak lasted approximately 5 minutes then the fun began. May proceeded to gently but firmly massage my feet and legs. She then lasered in on every tight muscle and pressure point in my feet and legs with a vengeance. When she had massaged and slapped my lower body into a more Zen like state she went in for the kill on my upper body. This woman is serious about her massage! This is NOT a Swedish massage and if you are looking for a gentle foot rub this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a relaxing environment and a SERIOUS massage - can't beat the price and quality of overall experience. read more

Let me first divulge my biases: I like strong massage, and I believe that reflexology is a valid (though not especially scientifically proven) therapeutic practice. If I know I'm getting a great deal on a vigorous, effective treatment , I'm willing to make compromises in the areas of setting, location, and privacy. A friend recommended Foot Joy to me, and being the foot-rub glutton I am, it was just a matter of time before I made my way over there (a bit of a hike, as I live near downtown Dallas). Yesterday was my first visit, and I was not disappointed. I had called ahead to make an appointment since I had to be done at a specific time; it took them only a few minutes to get going on me. My therapist was a kind, smiling man who called himself Jason. I would have chosen the 45-minute reflexology/15-minute body massage ($30) option, but I wasn't sure my abused, neglected feet would be able to handle that long (and possibly painful) of a session. So I chose the 30-minute reflexology/30-minute body massage ($40) for this, my first, visit instead. The reflexology was definitely painful in spots, but I expected it (those are the spots that need work the most!), and Jason did monitor my responses and lightened up if I wanted him to. The body massage, which was mainly just my back, neck, and head (maybe because I had to cut it short to keep to my schedule--I had arrived 10 minutes late), was beautifully firm. Even though it was apparent that he follows a prescribed pattern, he seemed to very efficiently get at the cores of my many knots. I'm not especially squeamish or shy, so the fact that I shared a room with all the other customers and that the therapist did climb on top of me to work my back didn't bother me at all. I understand how some folks might be turned off by this, though. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is because there's certainly room for improvement in the space (e.g., partitioned stalls, a separation between the entry and the treatment floor). Nevertheless, I liked how the space had soft music playing and was very dimly lit; modest as it was, I felt invited to relax and let go of the world outside. I will be going back as often as I can. Wow! This place is a AMAZING! I love it when I masseuse finds my knots and makes it their personal mission to work them out... and that is just what Luke did! I had the 70 min massage which they insanely only charge $40 for! Which is good because then you can tip really well. The foot rub was outstanding but then he got to my back and wow!! He worked and worked and worked my bilateral scapular knots. I will be booking an appointment with Luke again next Saturday. This is an unlicensed massage establishment and the people working there are not massage therapists. Do not be surprised if you are injured there. I noticed another reviewer stated he was injured there. There are state laws regarding the practice of massage because of that reason. I went there to check it out and the experience was miserable. It was obvious that the person assigned to me had NO training. A child could have done a better "lotion application"...no technique whatsoever. That is why I went to the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation website to see if they are legal. They are not. If you care at all about undocumented workers taking jobs from legal residents, DO NOT FREQUENT this place. After my awful experience they had the nerve to harass me for a tip as I was leaving. read more
