Pijja Palace had been on my radar since it first opened and I was fiiinally able to go on a recent…read moretrip! And thank the lords that I went with a group so we could try a bunch of different bites~ I will start off by saying that I truly cannot understand some of the haterade or strong dislike comments that talk about lack of flavor because genuinely every dish we tried was flavorful and overall pretty darn delicious. The spice level was actually a bit high for some of my friends but really hit that perfect mild-moderate heat for me. We ordered the dosa onion rings, piri piri fries, paneer parm sandwich, the bbq wings (for my omni friends), the malai rigatoni, and the green chile chutney pizza. We were hungry as a group of 4 but I will admit we had a few bites left at the end that we could not finish. Honestly everything was delicious but the standouts were the piri piri fries and the paneer parm sandwich. The fries came out hot, crispy, so well seasoned with both ketchup and raita dipping sauces; ugh I can't help but love a good potato! The paneer parm sandwich was such a thick, indulgent slab of fried paneer with melted cheese and chutney, chef's kiss would absolutely get again. The dosa onion rings were so true to their name because you could absolutely taste the dosa batter on the outside; it was a tad difficult to bite/cut but otherwise also very solid. The mango chutney that it came with hit and this is coming from a girl who usually doesn't like sweet chutneys. The green chile chutney pizza was sooo tasty; good fusion between a classic pizza and I love green chutney so could it get better than this? We tried both alcoholic and N/A drinks and they were delicious! The tandoori spritz was A+ imo. The interior is bright and it's fun to really hit a sports bar with such an eclectic fusion of foods. It was interesting to see the variety of sports they had on each TV too. Even with the small comment on service below, this place deserves a 5/5 and I would totally return. Prices are very fair for quality, esp in this economy. Service was...interesting. Friendly overall, checked in on us when first items were dropped off, but not again. When we were ordering, we wanted to be mindful of portions/quantity so we asked for some guidance and were essentially told "well I don't believe in restricting myself and you guys are all adults so you should order what you want." Totally understand the energy and intention, but did find it rather unhelpful as we were visiting from out of town and had no place to store leftovers. I understand the role of server when it comes to upselling, but it was a really strange interaction when we were already ordering quite a bit.

The food was good. The service was good. The only complaint I have is about the host. When I asked…read morefor a booth for 2 (with my reservations) she said no because there were other reservations. The entire time we were there, there were no other parties of 4 and there were a few booths empty. Towards the end of the evening she sat a party of 2 in a booth. So rude. I will not be coming back. I didn't ask for the yogurt stilton sauce but they charged for it. Whatever... just wanted people to know.

Nice, clean bathrooms. Ordering food and drinks at the bar was easy. The drinks were nicely balanced. Really tasty cocktails and mocktails; all of us were really pleased with our selections. The fries had a lovely crunch and there were plenty of them. Had a delightful time. Other patrons were friendly and it was easy to start up conversations with anyone in the room. Says a lot about an establishment when the crowd is chill and kind too. Excited to be back soon.

I've come here all year round. I come to just chill, for special events, to do homework, I've watched so many different live, big sports moments here and have ALWAYS been treated with thoughtfulness and kindness. Does it get busy sometimes and service may take longer than it would for a place that is not popping in your neighborhood? Yeah, and that's understandable but I've never felt like I've been ignored, overlooked, or disregarded and I wanted to make sure to share that for others to understand the totality of who the people running the establishment are. Often times Stephanie is who I interact with when I go in there and she's been nothing but cool, attentive and accommodating. Always full of genuine gratitude for everyone that walks through the door. That has been my experience. I've made a lot of great memories at Untamed and with the people there. The food is good. The vibes are good. The love for the community is real. And I'm happy that they are in the neighborhood. Photo tax of a couple Untamed visits.

My coworker's pick for a Friday evening, wasn't too busy and I'm not sure why?…read more A classic sports bar setup with a small outdoor patio, the space and service felt familiar. The people here were nice and had a corky humour to them. Our table got two sausage platters, frickles, lemon pepper wings, and a pretzel. There is usually an expectation for American bar food before you enter the establishment, and they all lived up to the hype. The textures were amazing, fried food was crispy on the outside, soft and juicy on the inside. Sausages had a bite to them and tender in the middle. Flavour profiles here were smoky, punchy, sweet, and vinegary. The lettuce mix under the sausages was a nice touch too. This fed four perfectly. Great variety of beer too! Loved the additions of a rice lager and a sour. A great spot for hanging out with friends, snacking, and snacking... and snacking till you realise that was dinner!

What a friendly local bar and a great place to catch sports. I watched one of the World Cup…read moresemi-final games here and it was the perfect destination. Hungary didn't make it to the World Cup this year so that was a bit of a bummer, considering my fam is from the old country. However, my second all-time fave, France, was still in the semi-finals. You see, I grew up watching Zinedine Zidane and to me, the World Cup brings back childhood memories and family bonding time. The menu items took me back in time. Much to my surprise, I noticed that there was a Hungarian kielbasa & a Debreziner sausage listed on their $10 lunch deal. I was shocked that I had the opportunity to debate over which one to pick. DEBREZINER sausage (in German) or for us Hungarians, is better known as "Debreceni Virsli" and made in the region where my dad's side of the fam grew up. It's often served cut up on the sides and has a richer color. For me, it's a bit juicier and there's more paprika in there. It's more along the lines of chorizo, if that's what your flavorbuds prefer. It's made with sweet and hot paprika, garlic, pepper, and marjoram. If my dad had been with me that day, he'd opt for the Debreziner. After deliberating for a bit, I decided to go with the HUNGARIAN KIELBASA and decked it out with grilled onions, sauerkraut, and jalapeños (very hot, stated the menu). The jalapeños rivaled the outside 100+ degree temperature. Thankfully, the cool AC made me forget it was one sweltering summer's day. Also, the Hibiscus Cider was crisp and made my experience and the lackluster game worth my time out. I loved how easy the ordering went-just tap the menu on the iPad and voila, you got the whole spiel. Service was quick and felt welcoming like I was at home in someone's living room with tons of TVs all around. Sadly, France didn't show up to play in the game until the last 5 mins or so. Spain obvi deserved the win and yes, this year's cup for their fancy footwork. The vibe was great and the crowd around me were locals on a first name basis with the staff. With awesome cider and food as tasty as I had growing up at home, I think I'll make it a goal to be on a first name basis around here during the NHL & NFL season.
