A friend and I came here late one night because they are open super late in search of a chill place to hookah and talk. It's kind of a weird place, to be honest, and the guy behind the counter was just as odd and didn't really offer any suggestions on shisha other than to suggest we the ice house (which I think was just a late night upsell). We ended up getting the "Queen of Sex" flavor, which was quite good. The guy brought the hookah out pretty quickly, but that's kinda where the service ended as he seemed to more interested in his phone convo. There was so fun 90s music playing overhead, but for some reason, that just turned off, so all you could hear was the guy talking on his phone? I'm not sure how quality the shisha was, but the entire time our hookah burned way too hot so it was hard to inhale and I have a feeling the "ice hose" only made matters worse. I have never had such a harsh hookah experience in my life! Both my friend and I were coughing and the guy never came to check on us. I kept trying to move the coals around and even removed all but one, but it continued to be very harsh to inhale, so after about 30mins, my friend and I just gave up and left. For the steep price of $20 (which usually there are special prices for that late at night at other places I have gone) for the awful experience, I will not be back. read more

We were looking for a laid back spot to smoke hookah after dinner and this was one of the options that came up on Yelp. We were quite disappointed that there were no alcoholic drinks (it is a BYOB spot but the liquor store had closed) on the menu but we still decided to give it a shot. On getting in, they were very welcoming and found us a place to sit. The server Mo asked us what we wanted and we couldn't decide on the flavor of hookah we wanted so we asked him to surprise us. Lol. The hookah he brought for us was initially very smooth and then became a little off cos the particles of the coal started to sip in through the pipe. Mo was very attentive and changed the hose to the ones that cool the smoke for free! Also, they had an iPad which they gave us to play whatever music we desired and rotated with the other parties at the lounge. Overall, I had an amazing experience and the customer service was superb! The staff was very rude to us. She gave lots of attitude to us. The hookah was very harsh and not enjoyable. They had to clear it 5 times and replace the hookah because it kept staying harsh after they tried to clear it. Not a good place to go and we won't be going back. We came to this place expecting great things since the yelp reviews were pretty good. We went in early around 740pm or so and there was no one there just the staff. We were tended to immediately and offered menus that had quite a variety of flavors. My wife and I are experienced Hookah Smokers so we thought we would try some specialty shisha blends....yea about that. We asked for code 69... don't have it, Queen of sex....don't have it.....OK. Let's try U.F.O. , what's in that? Server: I don't know, no one ever orders that so I have no clue what's it is??? REALLY?!?! After not having the third thing I asked for I gave up. My wife asked what they DO HAVE! They have all the amateur fruity flavors. I'm done. Let's go. We left and went to our usual place. They never stood a chance. Not sure I will try this place again. All my trips here on a weekday were satisfying. The hookah was good and so was the vibe. The lady in the front is super friendly and we ended up liking her recommended hookah flavor (vanilla + kiwi). Update 2017: still amazing!!! These guys are service oriented and extremely hookah knowledgeable. You can have a great time inside or out. Music is great or, you can change it to your preference. You WILL have an excellent time here. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed. First time here and wanted to check it out. This place is cool, relaxing, and everyone here is super nice and informative. Don't be intimidated if you're a first-timer...they will help you! We're not first timers, not by a long shot, but they still gave good recommendations on flavors and hoses. Experienced folks: try the plastic hose. Fruit bowl options and ice hoses are available too. Free popcorn and water round out the experience. BYOB too (but we didn't bring anything this time). We'll definitely put these guys in our "out for hookah" rotation. Check them out!! Update: We continue to come here because everyone is so super friendly, there's always great music, I can chill and read, work or just unwind. There aren't many good hookah places in the area, so I was really hopeful after seeing so many five star reviews. Walked in and the first thing I thought was "MAN, this place is small." Had to navigate a maze of tables and chairs just to get to the front counter. And once we placed our order, the cashier flubbed up the payment. Our bill came out to $22, which my friend and I wanted to split payment 50/50. We both wanted to pay in cash, but the drawer didn't have enough change... He ended up taking $20 from both of us, and then shutting the drawer, and escaping away to the back room to make our hookah. We had to explain to a manager what happened FOUR times before we were given the money we were owed. After the payment debacle, we opted for outside seating, where it's much quieter, and got treated to the most uncomfortable chairs imaginable. Too close to the ground to provide any sort of comfort. It would've felt better if I could stretch my legs out and recline back like the chair intended, but the cramped space wouldn't allow me to. Rounding out our experience was a coal run that took far too long to come. Apparently, they keep the old coals in the tray on the hookah, rather then taking them away and disposing of them. I realized this when I grabbed the pair of tongs that came with our hookah, and discovered that they had been resting ON the STILL HOT coals in the tray, which burned my hand. At least the hookah was good. The place only serves Al-Fakher brand, which is a safe choice. The menu features a lot of different flavor choices, so there's bound to be something for everyone. But as far as environment, space, and service... This place was a big disappointment. read more

Perfect place for hookah, food and a cup of tea. They're one of the very few places open after midnight around here on weekdays. I was there until 3am! Hopefully this changes people minds about coming here ! Me and my fiancée have been coming here for over a year now and never had a problem til tonight. When we arrived, the blonde hair woman in the front was already ticked off about a lot , while we were paying our cover fee she was snatching our cards and money, and we were alil confused but assumed today was not her day. We sat down for a bit and decided to do hookah and we got up to pay for it, she had an attitude then so we decided to leave but not before getting a refund but the owner said they couldn't give a refund only our bank as we proceed, she starts yelling and screaming at us and they kicked us out, while they was kicking us out my fiancée was getting tased by the big man at the front by the door then the owner and the big guy chased my fiancée down the street with taser .. they had several complaints before, they are always full and provide horrible service, they need to close it down read more

I am a mediocre hookah intermediate so my review is based not on the quality of sheesha or flavor infusion or cloud etc... but the atmosphere and service. I have but one genuinely good Hookah spot (that fulfilled my ideals) and have failed to find that atmospheric experience I am looking for in a Hookah spot, lounge, bar.... The service from Zoya was great we got our fruit and flower flavored sheesha (love the rose petal, nice touch Zoya) our coals were kept and hoses cleared with plenty of promptness and care thank you, Abrahim. The couch coves (three sofas openly squared) with screens were great in theory but the little loveseats were stiff, short and too uncomfortable for the full figure frame i tote around. The chair groupings look good and the chairs looked relaxing, but not conducive to the social vibe we were toking around for this particular evening.The music was a little loud and spotty as it would break up and/or stop all together. Cue that moments where i am talking and saying something wildly inappropriate All in all, would i go back? Fer Sure! Amazing place , had a great time with friends , They offer hookah in a ice bucket with great flavor .My fav was the fruit with mint and pineapple head . The owner Andrew was great - he was personally attending to each customer and making sure they are doing good . The staff is really good - didn't even have to call them to change the coal in-spite of the place so busy on Saturday night.They also had good music - live DJ which added to the fun . This is, by far, my favorite place to spend a relaxing evening. Moonlight truly puts the "lounge" in hookah lounge, and you can tell the owner puts his heart into every single detail. It's always clean, organized, the hookah tastes fresh, the seating is comfortable, the service is spectacular, coal refills are free, and the decor is always changing in a beautiful way. Every time I come here, which is about once a week, there's always something different to notice. I was in Austin for the weekend with friends and we were somehow guided to this hookah place via Yelp. We walked into this very unassuming place with the owner greeting us as we walked in. We were promptly showed to a booth and we got our server Mo. this establishment is a lesson in customer service. Mo was absolutely fantastic. He did all he could to make us feel comfortable, he gave us the iPad to play the music of our choice and we danced and gyrated to Nigerian music all night. This place was absolutely fantastic and chill, just what we needed to end the evening. If you're looking to drink alcohol note that this establishment doesn't serve alcohol and it is a BYOB establishment. Will definitely be back anytime I'm in Austin. So very recommended. read more

I haven't been to Moonlight since one bad experience due to being way over charged. It was on a Friday, and it was just a friend and I. Most of their employees are so nice and the environment is great also great music. I was just so confused why did one regular head hookah and two waters was charged $31.99. The guy was like "oh it's a weekend and you brought a person". The friend I brought last minute was just hanging out with my friend and I till we had to leave; didn't even smoke the hookah. So my friend tried telling the guy, "so we have to pay for people". He ignored her. Which again confused me because most hookah bars , its 3 people per hookah. It's not that I don't like the place , because it's a good hookah spot. Just wasn't happy on my last experience and take my business elsewhere from now on. read more

This hookah lounge is by far my favorite one here. I'm visiting here for work for about a month and a half from San Diego. They make me feel right at home. I've become a regular here and I bring my coworkers here every so often. I came here tonight on my own and they are so kind to me. The manager asked why I was alone tonight and gave me a tea on the house. The customer service and hookah are top notch. It's also byob!!! You also get a free hookah after every eight hookahs. Very disappointed in this place. I have gone to many hookah lounges and had some really great hookahs. I'm not sure if the girl they had working there was new but she was no with it at all. We had to get someone else to redo our bowl bc it wasn't smoking at all. Which is fine bc that happens. But when we were looking over the menu to order we asked the girl how much the fruit bowls were and she told us prices $5 for orange, Apple, and grapefruit, and $10 for pineapple and watermelon. So we asked her for a orange bowl with a one hose hookah. The one hose hookah cost 15.95 or something around there. We didn't order any food, get anything extra and we didn't bring any outside drinks. So when we go to check out our bill was $29 and some change. How do you go from $15.95 plus $5 to $29????? My overall experience wasn't that great. I honestly could have stayed home and made my own hookah and it would have been better. So now I know if I want a good hookah I will go somewhere else. read more

I've been frequenting hookah bars in Austin for the last 10+ years. I wanted to give this hookah bar 2 stars for the nice space and decor but I simply can't. I went to this hookah bar for about 3 months and there was simply no consistency whatsoever. When my friends and I started coming here, the coals were changed very frequently and they even changed our ice hoses. But gradually over that 3 month period, the coals were changed way less often, the level of customer service became horrible (with managers and servers disappearing for extended periods of time), and everything started costing more. We started even getting charged fees for things that we shouldn't have been. For instance, three of us went and got two hookah between us and were charged an extra person fee. There was another time that I went with two friends and the server charged the entire bill on my card, right after I told her that we were splitting the bill. The very last time that we went, one pineapple bowl (no ice hose/bowl) and byob charges racked up to almost a $78 bill. RIDICULOUS. And the coal service was terrible that night as well.
