On the way home from California I heard a bang in the rear of my F-350 pickup. Right away I pulled to the side of the road and then was towed to Moonlight Diesel. When they looked at my rear differential they found that my rear end was damaged. The differential and the pinion gear was missing some teeth. It took about 2 1/2 weeks to get parts and get it fixed. Due to COVID-19, is why it took so long. The staff was very helpful in keeping apprised of the progress. I was even allowed to see the damage to gears. I have a custom camper on a Ford F550 diesel. The check engine light was on and they have a big enough door to fit this truck in. after a 1/2 hr. they said the light was from the exhaust system. They wanted to take it all out. The newer systems keep diesels from polluting as much. I said no way. Just fix the light. $100 later I drove away and the light came back on. The Ford dealer on Brigham city has a big door. they fixed the light it had nothing to do with the exhaust. System is fine. Had these guys do a full diagnostic on a diesel pickup in 2012. We purchased the truck based on their assessment that the truck was in great shape with no real problems. Turns out....they were completely WRONG.....Their incompetence or laziness, not sure which it was, cost us lots of money. We ended up having to replace both fuel pumps, rebuild the transmission, we had to replace all ball joints, all brakes, a new radiator, a new starter motor, a new heater core, and a steering box.....they didn't even identify the hole in the exhaust system. The only thing they got right was that they told us the u joints would need to be replaced. This episode ended up costing us over $10,000 in repairs. read more
