The new shocks are rough and noisy. I brought it back in and was told that everything looked good and that after a test drive it was fine. I drove all winter, the noisy aspect got worse, and the ride didn't get better. I took it in again, and got the same answer that nothing was wrong. I looked at the invoice, and looked up the shocks. The shocks they put on are the cheapest shocks you can buy at AutoZone, but at a significant upcharge, I'd rather them tell me, I got cheap shocks, and I got what I paid for, instead of trying to gaslight me into the fact that there is no noise/the ride is smooth. They told us we needed to replace the ignition coil and spark plugs and that would solve the problem. After charging almost $900 the code came back in less than a month. We took our car back in and they told us they couldn't figure out what was wrong with it and to come pick it up. We asked for a list of tests they ran and the results. We got a small list but no results. A simple search from chat gpt told us what the problem could be and easy tests that could be run to confirm it. Two other mechanics confirmed that they could have run a simple test to confirm the head gasket was bad as well. Now we get to pay another mechanic to diagnose it and replace the head gasket after already wasting $900 with carsmart.
