I bought an R/C car here on 12/03/11, a Traxxas Stampede 4X4 VXL after they told me they were durable, waterproof, and very reliable. I took the unit home, followed all the shops instructions, and after one run, the Speed Controller caught on fire. The battery was fine, but the speed controller lit up damaging the chassis, components, and wiring. I took it in, and the shop confirmed what I believed had happened, that the speed controller was faulty. *3 Hours after having made my purchase*, I went back to "Outta Control R/C". They said they wouldn't take it back, and that I would have to deal with it myself. They admitted that I hadn't mistreated the unit, nor abused it, and that everything I did they had done themselves with them too. Even the store rep that helped me owned one with the same battery and setup as well. The owner refused to exchange it for me. He should have done that. It would have been so easy to issue a chargeback to Traxxas and to have helped me out. He lost a customer this past Saturday, and I will not recommend anyone I know to go there. Their business practices are terrible. I don't care what their policy states, not helping a customer with a unit that went bad 3 hours after purchase is wrong. read more
