Sashimi Sampler

Made reservations before a Kraken game and good thing we did, this place gets busy on game days! We ordered off the HH menu and also the regular menu. Everything was so fresh and delicious and our server was friendly and helped us decide on which rolls to pick. Ambiance was great, we were seated by a window, perfect for an intimate conversation.

Tempura salmon

We started with Miiso Clam Soup, which was very flavorful but mine had 3 shells and no clams, and husbands had 4 shells and 5 clams. We were excited to have Octopus Carpaccio, and there were really good flavors. But our first 2 bites were very chewy and couldn't be swallowed. The server talked to the kitchen and they took it off the bill. The tempura salmon was very good, and the fried squid legs excellent. Somehow i forgot to take a picture of that. We also had the house sake, a little harsh. I would order s different one next time. Service was very good.

How times have changed since my last time staying in the Lower Queen Anne area while trying to figure out where to eat on my first night. Lo and behold, I found Moon Tree just a short walking distance with a HH menu until 5 pm. Arriving at 4:20 I started off with their Agedashi tofu and 2 orders of Negi Hama rolls. Both were excellent. Decided to order the Chirashi Don which had 7 different types of sashimi. The sashimi along with several others that the Chef selected was very good but the tako (octopus) was too chewy for my liking. Highly recommend dining here if you are staying in the Lower Queen Anne area.

Nigiri Combination

My husband and I came here around 6:15p without a reservation, and waited about 15-20 min when they called us for a table. The restaurant was really busy, and as a result, very loud inside. It's located next to the the Climate Pledge Arena, so seems like a lot of people come here to eat before an event. While it seems like people enjoy the rolls here, none really stood out to me, so I got the nigiri combination. The plating looked nice, but I thought the food was just OK. Service wasn't particularly friendly as it seems like they were trying to clear tables as quickly as possible to make space for people waiting for tables, which I understand. However, I didn't really appreciate the waitress trying to take my plate away right after I had just put the last piece of sushi in my mouth and was still chewing.

Moon Tree Sushi and Tapas was absolutely incredible. The service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming from start to finish, thank you Kevin . Every dish we tried was next-level delicious, fresh, and beautifully prepared -- but the Super Moon sushi completely stole the show. It was insanely good and honestly one of the best rolls I've had in a long time. If you're looking for amazing sushi with standout service and a great atmosphere, this place is a must-visit. Can't wait to come back!!

Went late on a Saturday night and had a great experience. It was about an hour to closing and the service was quick and food came out right away. The rolls and apps we ordered were really good. Especially loved the hamachi and how fresh it tasted. Loved the decor and appreciated the low lighting as well.

A nice spot for some happy hour fun! Service was attentive and kind. Food was good I enjoyed their selection of happy hour items and enjoyed their take on chicken karage as well. The sushi although simple, was flavorful and full of freshness! We also made sure to get a glass of plum wine and it was sweet and strong. A cute spot for a quick bite!

The service and food were outstanding. I didn't feel like reading the menu, so my server picked a roll for me. It was delicious. The fish was fresh and the presentation was lovely. 10/10

This is absolutely my favorite sushi place ever. Super friendly and fairly fast service. Everything tasted fresh. Bonus points for the huge rolls at happy hour price, make sure to go during those hours!! But even without the happy hour prices they're still reasonable and fulfilling.

Fancy Seattle Roll

We went on a Friday night dinner and they do take reservations. It is a small place but has plenty of seating. Service is great and very fast. We were greeted as soon as we entered and the food was fresh and tasted good. Both the sushi we had which was the California roll and Seattle special roll were good and we also tried the gyoza. Highly recommend reserving because the place gets busy!

First rate. Everything was excellent quality and taste, and prepared extremely fast. Recommended!

We were grateful to have found this lovely & clean Japanese restaurant within walking distance of our Seattle hotel! Not only did they have the rare negi maki entree they also had green beans & salmon sashimi over rice. My favorite was the salmon! My wife was thrilled they had the negi maki too!!! We happened to be here at lunchtime. Leopard our waiter was great. He provided relaxed & friendly restaurant service here. He just so happened to be Chinese just like my wife! LOL yes they got to chatting where their family was from in China. The food was delicious & we were very satisfied! We would return absolutely! In fact my wife may want to come here on a whim one day! awww when is that needed next Seattle trip??? It was very convenient to have the Rabbit Rabbit Tea next door too! My wife was happy! She did happen to get her unsweetened passion fruit green tea drink! She was big smiles that day. Happy wife, happy life! Aw we are truly blessed.

The restaurant is smaller, with tables for mostly two or four people. They have an outside area, though the tables were not set up when we went. We were running late for a show, so I previewed the menu before arriving and ordered immediately upon seating. Our total time there was an impressive 40 min with their fast service. Very good to know for future reference. Karaage is in the name and is their signature dish. They make it the right way using chicken thigh. Prices are reasonable for the Seattle area. We will return again. The Food: Curry Rice with Karaage, $17.95 - 4 Stars This popular curry rice comes with a choice of protein, which naturally, we chose karaage. The curry sauce is delicious. There is a lot of rice on this plate though. Hubby left half behind. Poke Salad with tuna, $14.95 - 5 Stars Their poke salad with choice of 3.5 oz protein was excellent with the mixed greens. The salad wasn't overdressed and tasted refreshing with a light dressing. I would order this again. Karaage Chicken, small, $6.95 - 5 Stars Glad they offer the chicken as a side. The small is a good compliment to salad. Instead of four pieces, we had five. Hubby was happy to have more protein to go with the rice. They are more of a 4.5 stars rating. Their service speed bumped them up to 5 Stars.

Manzoku Izakaya -- A Lively Japanese Grill with Strong Execution and Genuine Hospitality…read more Rating: (4/5) Manzoku Izakaya delivers exactly what a good Japanese bar and grill should: flavorful food, expertly grilled dishes, and an energetic atmosphere backed by attentive service. While it stops just short of being truly exceptional, this was still a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience and an easy recommendation for fans of Japanese izakaya-style cuisine. Ambiance - 4/5 The restaurant captures the lively charm of a traditional Japanese izakaya -- warm lighting, casual energy, and a social atmosphere that feels ideal for gatherings over grilled skewers and drinks. It balances comfort and vibrancy well without becoming overly loud or chaotic. Authenticity - 4/5 The menu reflects classic izakaya staples with a strong emphasis on grilled items and shareable dishes. The preparation feels rooted in traditional Japanese bar dining culture rather than heavily Americanized interpretations. Flavor - 4.5/5 The grill work was the highlight of the meal. Everything arrived properly cooked with excellent texture and balanced seasoning. The smoky char from the grill complemented the ingredients beautifully without overpowering them. Each dish felt thoughtfully prepared and satisfying. Service - 5/5 Service was exceptional throughout the evening. Staff were attentive, welcoming, and consistently checked in without interrupting the flow of the meal. The hospitality elevated the overall experience and made the restaurant feel genuinely inviting. Cost - 4/5 Pricing felt fair for the quality of food and service, especially considering the consistency of the grill execution and overall atmosphere. It's the kind of place where the experience justifies the bill comfortably. Final Thoughts Manzoku Izakaya succeeds by focusing on fundamentals: strong grilling technique, flavorful food, and excellent hospitality. It may not reinvent the izakaya experience, but it executes it confidently and well. A solid 4 out of 5 stars, and definitely a place worth revisiting for Japanese comfort food done right.

Manzoku Izakaya offers a budget-friendly AYCE option for yakitori that is hard to find anywhere…read moreelse in the downtown Seattle area. There is a caveat though, which is that they only have select items in the AYCE menu. The ambiance of the place was inviting enough for us to give them a try! There is a 90 minute window for AYCE, and you can order a maximum of 3 items per person every 15 minutes. All orders have to be made from an app on your phone so make sure you have a fully charged device! When we logged in the app, it was confusing to manage at first so we worked with the server to put our orders in. She had to put in our orders for us a couple of times and then we figured out how to work the system after that. To do the math for those reading the review and maximize the number of items you can order with the 90 minute window, you can potentially order up to 18 sets of skewers per person. Each set of skewer has two sticks. My hubby and I missed a few items from our order but we were getting full after my 10th skewer and his 15th skewer so it did not matter too much! The AYCE menu also has options to order zaru soba, corn cheese, and takoyaki! Presentation is great but I wish the flavor matched the visuals. The standout skewers for us were the boruta pork and the wagyu beef tongue. I was really hoping that the yakitori would be crispier and had more of a smokey flavor but I really can't complain too much for the price point. The food is solid but not like a wow, I have to come back here again! We only saw one server for the busiest part of the night, serving 8 tables all at once. She made sure that our glasses were never empty and she treated us warmly. Wile the decor and the general atmosphere are pleasant, the quality of the food would not merit another visit for me.

I want to clarify that I rate places based on how they compare to other similarly priced places,…read morenot necessarily compared to all other restaurants. For what this place is, I think it's great! The prices are really good considering all that you get and the quality of sushi is pretty good considering the price as well. I was pleasantly surprised to see their combos come with additional appetizers like the agadashi tofu, the salad with dressing choices, and miso soup. The chicken katsu definitely had more meat and a thinner layer of breading as an FYI. I ordered the sushi combo for 38 dollars and got great tasting sushi for that price. Overall, I'd recommend this place if you want somewhere casual with good options and little extra items mixed in with your meals. It's definitely not like Umi, or Shirros but you're also paying like 1/3 to 1/2 the price.
