Bacon Blue Cheese Potato Salad 2GO

Great late night food stop. Try the potato salad for sure! All outdoor seating- most covered. Picnic benches.

From 2015, not sure if it was boar or duck

What's funny is this is one of the earliest places I remember food from in Houston, but it was always a vague memory. I think the first time me and my friends went here it was after a night out and I'm not even sure of what's the reason we ended up stumbling across here. As someone who loves to expand my food horizons I was very intrigued to see just how many different meats they had for the hot dogs. I can't lie as if I remember exactly what I had back then but I do recall that it was good enough for me to feel that I would go back. After my recent visit, I know for sure that I would like to go back! There was about a decade between my first and second visit but both times I enjoyed the chill, outdoors vibe. There's heavy metal design in the branding, posters and some of the wall art but otherwise it's really just a nice outside park feel. It's the kind of place that's good to eat at but also nice to hang out at if you want some air. I believe they also host musicians there but I've not gone on one of those nights to say who that experience is. I can't recall the service from my first visit but I don't recall an issue so that's good. During my most recent visit the man who rob took my order was kind and helpful, which is honestly all I'm looking for. He also helped me go through the menu in deciding what I wanted to go with. If I'm not mistaken, I had the Duck Apple Brandy, Lamb Merguez and Wagyu hot dogs. The first thing that stands out to me from all the dogs is the snap. They all have a really good snap when you bite into them. One of the bad things about trying multiple similar things at one time and not immediately writing a review is that you tend to forget some of the differences between items. That said, they were all delicious, so you can feel comfortable in that regardless of what you get it is going to be good. I do remember that the Wagyu reminded me the most of a normal hot dog because as a beef hot dog it is the most normal. The Duck Apple Brandy was really good and the flavors worked well together. The Lamb Merguez was the most different of the three, but again on it worked. They all had their strengths, so it's hard to say which was the best, which means I need to revisit for more delicious research. They are known for their great selection of gourmet hot dogs served on pretzel buns with just as great house toppings to add on, but they also have burgers, tacos and sandwiches if you're not in a hot dog mood. The person with me got the Fatti-Baddi-Daddi Melt burger. It was cool but I don't think I was missing out by not having it. While writing this with you I found the picture from my first visit in 2015 and it looks like I had something that looks like a chili dog with grilled onions. I feel like it may have been a wild boar hot dog, because this was back when I was eating swine still, or a duck hot dog. Not many places are doing the work to make hot dogs a stand out worthy of leaving the house, so if you can appreciate a simple everyday item being elevated in every way, then this might be the place for you.

Burger with blue cheese potato salad- such a wonder combo

Just for fun!! This is place holds such a fun backyard feel! Amazing sausages (dogs) and the burger is fabulous- add some Dr Pepper onion jam. Delicious!

We stopped by here for a quick bite before another event and I am so glad we did! I didn't really know what specialty hotdogs meant until now. I was never the biggest hotdog fan, but realize that I've just been eating the wrong ones. I had the elk hotdog and it was one of the best dishes I've ever eaten. The size was generous for the cost and tasted excellent with the bread. Their were numerous meat options, such as deer and rabbit. The service was friendly and quick and there was plenty of outdoor covered seating. It was very comfortable and accommodating for our large group. A great hidden spot!

Great place to hang out with good company and food! We came here with a group of 10 people just to hang out. My fiance and I did go to the rodeo and then met up at Moontower with our friends so we didn't eat alot but decided to order just a sampler plate to try some of their sausages which were really good! We let the cashier pick the sausages so I don't remember what we got. I just remember the sausages being very delicious and I'd come back to try other stuff also! We ordered 2 rounds of beers as well which my fiance enjoyed trying some different beers he hasn't had before. This place is outdoors and great for large groups since there's several long tables to fit 8-10 people. Dog friendly definitely and I think they have live music since we saw a stage but at the time (sunday) there wasn't anyone there. They did play music though so that was nice!

My friends and I came straight to Moon Tower as soon as we landed in Houston. We weren't able to catch dinner so we decided to grab a late night meal here. It doesn't look like they have any indoor seating -- all of their seating is outdoors but half of the area is covered. They also have heaters in case you get a bit cold sitting outside. Since it was late, my friends and I decided to share two items: Harvey burger -- it included lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, cheese, and their signature sauce. All their burgers come with a bag of chips as well. The burger had good flavor and it was cooked well. All the condiments complimented the flavors. Definitely would recommend. Lil Moontower Platter -- it comes with two dogs with stout kraut, mustard, southern caviar, and bread. We also opted to add in boudain. Apparently the southern caviar was pimento cheese and they make their own boudain in house. Normally, it comes in a casing but theirs don't. We decided to get their duck foie gras and lamb oregano dogs. I wasn't a huge fan of the boudain to be honest. It was my first time having it so maybe I'm just not used to it? I really loved the dogs though. They tasted great on it's own and with together with everything. They were super flavorful. The bread was toasted and buttery! Definitely would recommend! We also got some Duchesse Red -- it is one of my favorite beers. It's a Flanders red ale brewed with cherries. I believe the beer is Belgian and honestly, Belgian is the only place where they can make beer with cherries and it won't taste nasty. Tastes like juice! Really enjoyed the food and the beer here. Wouldn't mind visiting again.

I probably go here several times a year, the food and beer selection are always fantastic, plentiful seating AND THEY HAD TABLE SERVICE AT LUNCH. It is now and shall remain one of my favorite spots wmin town.

Duck Foie gras + Beer + chips

It's like a food truck that serves beer :) Outdoor patio seating with communal benches' plenty of benches/tables but you may have to share with others when it gets busier at night, definitely a popular outdoor venue in this part of town and I've noticed people bringing their own mugs and regulars coming in at night. Parking is street parking so plan accordingly. Been hearing about their adventurous selection of wild meats like the Buffalo, Pheasant, Duck, Lamb, and Rabbit? the menu is extensive and features burgers, appetizers, tacos, and sandwiches. I wasn't a great fan of my duck Foie Gras dog but enjoyed their creative toppings/seasoning. I'd be interested in trying out the buffalo or a burger next time for sure. You can also pick and build your dog/burgers/or anything on the menu, very cool. Got to try a few of their house beers like the magic brownie and cobra shark, both were rich and delicious, the price point is a bit high for a small cup but the quality is good- glass may be worth the investment, excellent selection overall. Overall, would definitely come back and trying more of their creative menu. They also have weekday specials like BOGO burgers and drink specials so check their website out.

Elk Hot dog and Fatti - Baddi - Daddi Patty Melt

The staff were friendly and welcoming. Restaurant style service. I enjoyed the outdoorsy environment. The Elk hotdog was interesting, but it's not something I would order again. The flavors did not combine well. The Fat baddi daddi melt was amazing! Juicy and flavorful. Made to perfection. I would come again just for the burger. The hot dogs are a little too exotic for me.

Came here for "late night" noms because we had landed in Houston shortly before. Moon Tower is nice and open, with an "enclosed" area which was a little dark but also a fairly well lit "outside" area further to the back. We had ordered some food to share as it was fairly late anyway. Beer is instantly served upon ordering. Food will be made in the kitchen and picked up from the window around the corner (towards the back) with the number coin they give you (and they call out your number). Very friendly staff which helped explain what some of the things we didn't know where. LIL MOONTOWER PLATTER includes 2 of their wild game dogs (either picked by the person taking your order or you can pick ones yourself, we went with what they picked which was DUCK FOIE GRAS and LAMB MERGUEZ) cut into susage medallions, served with stout kraut, creole mustard, and southern caviar (pimento cheese). We were recommended to add a lil' boudain (typically a Cajun sausage made from seasoned rice, pork, and pork liver stuffed into a casing BUT their's is not in a casing) This was a GREAT item to share between the 3 of us. It comes with a mountain of toasted bread on the side, with small cups of creole mustard, stout kraut, southern caviar (pimento cheese), and the additional boundain. The 2 sausages were cut into medallions for easy sharing. You can do various combinations of how to eat everything or just eat it as is. Boudain apparently is a thing down here. Typically its in a casing but theirs is not. Delicious either way HARVEY BURGER is a 4 oz angus patty served on a sesame seed bun with lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, american cheese, and their super special secret sauce and a bag of chips) Well made burger. Soft bun. patty is well seasoned and the cheese was melty. Definitely a burger to recommend if you like burgers. Whatever bag of chips they gave tho was SUPER salty. I couldn't keep eating it. Main reason we came here was for their SUPER ULTRA SPECIAL LIMITED beer DUCHESSE RED by BROUWERIJ VERHAEGHE... DELICIOUS ! i typically dont like cherry anything besides the actual fruit. Overall, nice place to chill at. Was nice to visit since it was open late. The platter was great to share between the 3 of us while catching up and chatting.

Bad service

Horrible place. Waiter so rude. It's not kids friendly. They do not have a baby changing table and you can't even bring baby food to feed your baby. I brought some eggs for my baby and I was told that I couldn't bring food from outside not even for my baby. I had to change his diaper (only pee) and I did it in an empty bench since there was no other place to do it. I wiped the bench after I was done. I was told that I couldn't change diapers here. Because people eat here. While you can see bird poop on the benches. People coming with dogs and they pee and poop here too. He was so rude that he made me cry. Never coming back.

Wagyu Hot Dog

Came here after a market we attended nearby in the evening and I thought this place was a neat local find. It's outside seating only, but had very chill lighting that set the vibe and paired along with a very nice playlist. You can order at the front bar counter or you can grab a seat and a server will take your order. Menu items that caught my attention were their burgers and hot dogs. I opted for a Wagyu Hot dog topped with fresh jalapeño, diced onions, & their sauce. I also got a side of their xxx spicy sauce - & it was indeed quite spicy but I also very much enjoyed it. Warning tho, if habanero spicy and up isn't your preference, I'd recommend skipping it. When you order the hot dogs, you can add the chef recommended toppings for $2 extra or you can customize your toppings individually but they charge for each topping individually as well. I felt that was a bit pricey tbh for hotdog toppings. The hotdog itself was good but nothing too crazy to rave about. My boyfriend and brother got burgers and enjoyed their meal with no complaints. Overall, I mainly liked the vibe here. Staff was very friendly and set up is great for a chill night out with a group of friends or family ( i did see kids and dogs here). It'd be nice if they put in some ceiling fans or a portable AC under their covered area considering we're in Texas and approaching peak of summer but the night we came, it was still breezy that evening. I'd come again when in the area.

A really cool, dog-friendly place with Art Car on tap and a good food truck. When I am working in the neighborhood I will visit again.
