We booked this restaurant prior to our trip based off some yelp reviews and internet research. It is located on the 19th floor of the building one floor below the Sky Bar. The restaurant varies its menu daily so you don't know what your going to be served We chose the four course meal, but the have other option with more courses and wine pairings. Firstly the view is stunning and the restaurant revolves so over the course of your meal you get a great overall view of Amsterdam. The service was OK as the evening progresses our server was given more tables so the service became slower as for the food quite disappointing, every dish was expertly crafted and visually appealing but flavor wise it just didn't do it, all course tasted You didn't get that flavor explosion l was expecting from this type of restaurant. read more

I am giving 5 starts but the food overall is 4 and a half stars. I had the 6 course menu. The chef or chefs are very creative, but there are certain elements that need more finesse. I could give 1000 recommendations for great little bites in Amsterdam. However, Moon restaurant in the A'dam tower, is really quite something. It's a revolving tower around the canals. The views were obviously spectacular. The service was great and we really enjoyed all of the delicious menu items. We had the duck and the cod , both were amazing... the desserts the chocolate and then the raspberry yogurt crunch. It took approximately 2 1/2 rotations for us to enjoy a beautiful long dinner. I would say if you're going to be in Amsterdam , make a reservation here. Downstairs is the film and art museum. read more

Moon was one of THE.BEST Restaurants I ate at while vacationing in Amsterdam! It's not just that the food is superb but it's the presentation of the food and the detailed (brief) explanation of the plate placed in front of you. The view is amazing and the fact that your getting a 360° view up top of the famous Adam lookout makes the view so much better! The staff is incredible! Sweet and friendly! I purchased a package deal that included access to Adam Lookout AND a five coarse meal at Moon. I will say that I was Dissapointed that I had to pay an ADDITIONAL $37 after my dinner because I had the chefs menu not knowing it was an extra charge. It's the 3 coarse meal that wont have you overpaying. Then, they only took CC so that upset me more but I still reccomend this restaurant as a must try while in Amsterdam. We came here on our last night in Amsterdam having expected nothing but crappy experiences from restaurants and coffee shops throughout the week. I obviously wouldn't expect anything less from a high rated restaurant but my expectations were pretty low - and obviously were met. We had a 5 course meal, the service was amazing from our host to the waitress closing our bill. The meals were well paced and the drinks were on point. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Also, most importantly - the bathroom was CLEAN. Jk most important was the view. Make sure to make reservations around sunset to experience the rotating views of Amsterdam. This has an amazing view of the city as you rotate very slowly around. The set menu is great and they can sub out anything if you are a vegetarian, or you only eat fish etc. The service is excellent. A good choice for tourists or a romantic evening. read more

The set menu is reasonably priced from the perspective of a New Yorker. Add the 360 revolving view of Amsterdam, and it is a great value. The only complaint I have is that the oysters are not as fresh as it could have or should have been. Note that admission fee is required for the A'DAM Tower before you can go up to the restaurant. read more

This restaurant has amazing views due to being at the top of the skyscraper and it's also a revolving restaurant so you'll always have amazing views! The food itself was ok, it wasn't spectacular (although it tries to be), it wasn't bad as well. But mind you I come from Los Angeles where we have A LOT of options in fine dining and unique dining experiences, so bear that in mind. The menu is Prix Fixe but you can choose either 5 course or 6 or 7 (which is everything). I chose 6 as I wasn't interested in the cheese tasting. The menu also changes every month because they invite different chefs to cater the menu, so be sure to check it if you're picky or have certain dietary needs. Last seating is at 9pm (reservation required), which is what we did. And right now the sun actually sets right before that so it was still light and beautiful when we sat for dinner. Service was ok, they do try their best but again, not comparable to fine dining services in the states. I had to ask for my wine to be refilled, and had to fill my own glass of water everytime. All in all, it's a must visit for the view alone, so no regrets there. Hopefully they'll train their waiters better and invite more exciting chefs. read more

After some soul searching, I had decided that make this the first dining experience in my visit to Amsterdam. And why not? It was my birthday. I don't have to tell you what this restaurant is about, you'd made the decision to look at this place because you want an experience: excellent food, spectacular views, and exceptional service. You're getting them all. I'll skip to the fun part then. We opted for the 5 course meal because we had a few parties slated for later in the evening. I can definitely say without a doubt that this was one of the best meals I've had yet. Some highlights: - Clarified minestrone: served in a cold sake glass, absolutely translucent, akin to a potent yet refreshing gazpacho. - Sea bass: served in a bowl with a lemongrass sauce, garnished with baked corn, tangy and savory and absolutely delicious. - Chocolate-covered pearls: served individually in a decorative oyster half shell, popped in your mouth like a bubble. They rotate chefs out of the restraunt every 2 months, I believe, so it's unlikely that our meals will be the same. That being said, it's clear this restaurant seeks to curate an experience and spares absolutely no expense in the matter. read more

The only reason I'm giving it 1 star is because 0 is not an option. Don't waste your time or spend your money here. If you don't have a reservation with a deposit, don't bother with the waitlist. It is NOT a true waitlist. You are put in a pool, and whoever responds FIRST to the email, gets the table. Hostess is extremely rude and not helpful. You can't even get a water, soft drink or cocktail at the bar while you wait if you don't have a reservation. Give your money to the small restaurants who deserve the business! read more

I'll start off by saying that the food itself was fantastic, with only one slightly disappointing course - the entrecote was fine, but nothing special and I've had better beef for less elsewhere. Other than that, the tom yam and gyoza was the standout favourite, with the corvina cerviche a close second. Unfortunately, I feel I have to give the overall meal a 3 purely because the courses arrived so slowly. The staff were absolutely lovely, smart, friendly and informative throughout, but it just took too long for the courses to arrive. We waited around 20 minutes between the 3rd and 4th courses and almost half an hour between the 4th and 5th (and quite along time between the 1st, 2nd and 3rd as well!) For a tasting menu, obviously you don't want to overwhelm people but leaving too long between courses is both frustrating and means that by the time the next course arrives people are so hungry they just gulp it down without giving it the attention it deserves. Such a shame; everything else from the food to the staff to the decor and view was just wonderful. Unfortunately, by the end we just wanted to pay and leave as quickly as possible (of course, had to wait quite a while and ask twice for that as well...) Maybe knocking two stars off is excessive but it was just such a damper on the experience - especially given that the restaurant only had max 10 tables full throughout the evening - and by the end we were just desperate to get out. read more

We had a reservation to celebrate my birthday. We were seated at a table where the seats were filled with crumbs and then basically ignored for 20-30 minutes. Someone finally brought us a drink menu and we ordered both still water and 2 glasses of wine. A different waiter eventually brought us the menu. We had been planning on ordering the five or six course tasting menu, but due to some recent health issues, I wasn't feeling well enough for all that food. We ordered off the a la carte menu, 2 courses and were planning on dessert. Another 20 minutes passed when we were offered some bread and butter with no plates ( hence the seat crumbs when we were seated ). We had made almost the entire circle in the restaurant by the time we got out first course. Again by a different person on the waitstaff. Our dirty dishes sat in front of us for another 20 minutes until our next course finally arrived. My husband finally complained to the manager who passed it off on one if his wait staff to comp us a coffee. Needless to say I was ready to go before dessert. Yes; it offers amazing views over Amsterdam from the 19th floor, yes; it slowly revolves 360° around its own axis, but the food is top notch too! Our dutch relatives took us here on our first trip to Amsterdam and at first we were scared of the prices, but it's so worth it. Something we would never do at home, and had the most amazing views of the city. We got there at 18:30 and watched the city go from light to dark over about 4-5 hours, but it went so fast!
